Scars Of The Soul

“I just don’t like clubs.” She smiled and if I wasn’t mistaken, her own demons were trying to rear their head. Then I said something that was totally out of character for me.

“So let’s not go to a club then.” Her eyes flashed up to mine, confused by my words “We can hang out for a bit.”

I had never, in my entire fucking life, turned down a night out to stay in with a chick. I fucked girls and then I walked away. There were no commitments and there was definitely no heart to hearts after a show. I almost started to regret my offer, feeling like some sort of obsessed, clingy asshole. I say almost because then I saw it. I saw the light in her eyes, like she was pleased I was choosing a quiet night in with her over a night at the club. There was also a fear there though, she was terrified to be alone with me.

“Strictly platonic.” I assured with a cocky smirk “My hands will go nowhere near you unless requested otherwise.”

“As long as you’re sure. You did tell everyone you were going with them.” She bit her lip and I found myself liking the vulnerable side of her. I’d seen the kickass tour manager and the aloof, disinterested Scout but this was a new one. She seemed so much younger as she stood in front of me, her fingers pulling at the hem of her tee.

“Wouldn’t have offered if I wasn’t sure.” I shrugged, gesturing her out of the green room. She moved silently and stopped abruptly when we nearly came crashing into the front of Jo and Seth.

Motherfuckers. They’d been listening to our whole conversation. Was nothing fucking sacred?

“So you’re ditching, huh?” Seth smirked. Jo slapped his stomach with the back of her hand, making him grunt.

“We’re gonna head off then. We’ll text when we’re heading back.” Jo grinned, linking her arm with Seth and walking off.

“Don’t wander about by yourself, Jojo.” I warned automatically. She looked over her shoulder and gave me a sarcastic salute before grinning and continuing down the corridor.

“You really care about her.” Scout observed “It’s like watching siblings.”

“We’ve been close since we were kids.” I shrugged, not willing to divulge all of my dirty secrets “She’s got a habit of getting herself into trouble, especially when you add Lacey and shots into the mix.”

Scout laughed as we made our way to the buses. We fell into a comfortable silence as we reached our own tour bus. There were no lights on so I had to assume that Jez was in Rissa and Jace’s bus. I pulled my phone out and fired a quick text to her, double checking she was there and not wandering about by herself. I had no doubt she could handle herself in a fight but that didn’t settle my nerves. I had to know she was safe. Scout hit the button to open the door and moved up the steps. A smile tugged my lips as my eyes landed on her perfectly shaped ass. I may have promised to keep my hands to myself but that didn’t mean I wasn’t going to look.

I followed her up the steps as my mind fell back to Jo’s advice. Maybe putting my cards on the table was a good idea. I stopped as the door closed, gearing myself up to have the likely awkward as fuck conversation.

“I want to fuck you.” Her gentle voice filled the quiet bus.

Well then, that was as motherfucking subtle as a shotgun. She nodded her head, as if deciding for certain what she wanted.

“Yeah, I want to fuck you, Drake.” My eyes widened as I felt myself harden at her words. She wanted to fuck me. She was positive she wanted to fuck me. I moved closer to her, ready to discuss this like the gentleman I’d promised to be, despite how much I wanted to throw her on the table and fuck her senseless. Before I could get a goddamn word out, she launched herself at me, her lips sealing over mine passionately. My arms tightened around her as her legs wrapped around my waist.

“We’re grown up enough to handle the aftermath, right?” she panted against my lips.

“Course.” I grumbled, moving my lips down her neck and squeezing her ass in my hands. I was hard to the point of pain now. I needed to be inside her fucking soon.

“You sure about this?” I sat her onto the edge of the table, fully intending on taking her there and then “No going back once I’m balls deep, darlin’.”

My words created a blush on her cheeks. I loved her reactions to me. This tough talking business woman could get embarrassed by the slightest of dirty talking. Without another word she stripped her shirt off and dropped it to the chair beside her. My eyes drifted down to her perfect tits.

“Looks like you just requested my hands on you, darlin’.” I teased, kissing along her jaw until I could nip her ear.

“So what are you gonna do about it, Jackson?” she dared.

“I’m gonna make sure that’s the last full sentence you can string together.” I whispered in her ear, enjoying the way her skin seemed to pimple beneath my touch.

I was many things but a liar wasn’t one of them.

Which I was more than willing to prove to her.

  Chapter Eight

  Scout

I was out of my mind that was the only explanation I could conjure up as Drake’s hands gripped my hips. I wasn’t just playing with fire anymore I was outright dancing with it. I’d tried to convince myself that what we were doing, what we were about to do, was wrong. It could get complicated and messy and ruin any professional relationship I had built up with Drake and his band members. I’d even considered moving busses so that I wasn’t travelling with him. Then two things happened.

The first, I made the mistake of watching the first half of Rayne of Glory’s set list. I’d watched as Drake got behind his drum kit, rolling his neck and shoulders in preparation. There was a light that entered his eyes that made me stay and watch him as they kick started their first song. My mouth watered as I watched Drake, bare chested, laying into his drums. His corded arms and muscular shoulders flexed with every movement, causing the tattoos covering his bare skin to roll and move. I was unable to move from my spot at the side of the stage as his exuberant grin took over his features. He looked truly happy upon the stage like there was nowhere else he belonged. I felt a strange tightening in my chest as my eyes remained fixed upon him. There were definitely worse guys I could be involved with.

The second thing that changed my mind-set towards Drake was his willingness to stay in and keep me company. He was a single twenty-four-year-old rocker who was still riding the high of coming off of stage. He should have been dying to get out on the town and burning off some of his pent-up adrenaline. Yet he offered to stay in with me. Drake genuinely didn’t seem to mind a night in with me rather than a night out with the guys. I wasn’t a fan of big, romantic gestures but Drake offering to stay in with me and just…hang out? Yeah, that gave me a major case of the butterflies. It was also in that exact moment I decided that it was worth it. Drake Jackson was worth the possible heartbreak. As long as we could both understand that it was just carnal desire and handle that then we would be fine.

So, as I sat on the edge of the small table with Drake’s lips on mine and his hands raking down my thighs, I knew I’d made a good choice.

My own hands ran through his spiked hair, tugging it gently, eliciting a rumble from his chest. Drake’s hands moved up my thighs and skirted up my waist until his fingertips brushed the underside of my breasts. I could feel my breath catch as his hands moved around my back, unfastening my bra. I let my arms drop to my sides as the fabric slipped down my skin slowly. Drake pulled it off completely, dropping it down beside my discarded shirt.

“So fucking beautiful.” He breathed, taking me in. I shifted slightly trying to ignore the urge to cover myself under his heated gaze. Without another word he dipped his head down, taking my lips in a possessive kiss. My lips parted, allowing his tongue access into my mouth. Unlike earlier there was none of the desperation and roughness as we kissed. His hands were gently as they moved around my body, his lips moving slow and deliberately. The heat from our kiss was enough to sear my very soul. Drake pulled back, kissing his way down my thr
oat until his mouth reached my chest. I looked down a second before Drake’s mouth sealed over my nipple. A whimper escaped me as my eyes shuttered closed. His tongue flicked out, rolling over my hardened nipple until I could feel my entire body throb with unsatisfied need. Just as I reached the point where I thought the pleasure was going to wash through me, he stopped. I groaned unhappily as his hot breath moved away from my breast. A deep chuckle left him before he began the slow, sensual torture on my other nipple. My hands raked back into his hair, fisting it roughly. The pleasure was building again as I tried to rub myself shamelessly against his hips. My breathing became erratic as his tongue swirled around my erect nipple. A strangled cry left my lips as Drake took my nipple between his teeth, nipping me gently. That was all it took before I felt the waves of euphoria crashing through me. I tightened my thighs around Drake’s waist as his mouth left my breast and captured my lips, swallowing my cries of pleasure. My entire body shook as his tongue moved into my mouth, sweeping against my own leisurely.

We pulled apart, both our breathing hot and heavy as we tried our best to catch our breath.

“Not gonna fuck you tonight.” Drake’s voice was deep and husky.

A bolt of rejection shot through me, eating away at the post-orgasm euphoria sweeping through me. He’d kiss me, he’d give me an orgasm but he wouldn’t sleep with me.

“Hey, get that out of your head.” Drake smirked, raking a hand through my dishevelled hair “I see the cogs working in that gorgeous head. I want nothing more than to get inside that tight pussy.”

A familiar heat filled my cheeks at his blunt words.

“When I do, darlin’, and trust me, I will.” He pulled my closer, speaking into my ear “I want you all to myself, not on a bus where anyone could walk in.”

The rejection was replaced with anticipation as his stubble created a delicious friction across my cheek. My hands moved up, fisting his shirt as his mouth trailed from my ear to my neck and down until they reached the sensitive skin where my neck met my shoulder. I sighed as he nipped at the flesh. Drake cupped my ass, bringing me flush to his hips. I groaned as I felt the bulge in his jeans. I understood why he didn’t want to have sex there and then and I would be lying if I said I didn’t find his reasoning’s sweet. That didn’t mean I was going to be the only party having fun tonight though. I pressed my hands against his chest, pushing him back slightly. He frowned as he stepped back, confused by my sudden change of behaviour. Without letting him know my intentions, I dropped from the table and moved to kneel before him.

“Darlin’, you don’t have to do that.” His voice was gruff and there was no real objection in his tone.

“I know.” I smiled slyly as I reached for his jeans, pushing the button in slowly. I pulled his zip down followed by his jeans. His hand reached out, grabbing the edge of the table as I freed him from the confines of his boxers. I closed my hand around the base of his dick, feeling a shiver of excitement when I noticed that my fingers barely wrapped around his thickness. I worked my hand up and down his length, taking pleasure in the guttural sounds coming from his throat. Before I lost my nerve I moved in closer, flicking the tip with my tongue. At first contact Drake’s free hand shot into my hair, gathering it up into his fist. I pushed further forward wrapping my lips around him and taking him in deep, enjoying the way Drake’s breathing caught in his throat. I’d never particularly enjoyed performing oral sex but there was something different now. It was empowering. Every moan or muttered curse that slipped from Drake’s lips made me feel in control. I worked my hand along with my mouth, sensing that Drake was close to his own release. Which meant I had another decision to make. As I said before I was never a fan of oral sex and that included the end result.

“Darlin’,” Drake grunted, fisting my hair harder and creating a slight sting that I relished “Not gonna last.”

I moved faster, feeling my own excitement building as I felt him throbbing in my mouth.

  He was so close.

“Drake? Scout?” I froze as I got a serious case of déjà vu.

I pulled my mouth away from Drake and accepted the hand he offered to help me up. I frantically grabbed my shirt from the booth style seating beside us and pulled it over my head.

“Hello? Please tell me you’re not sleeping already!” Jez’s light voice called again as the bus doors opened. Drake had barely tucked himself away when Jez appeared up the steps. Her face was ashen as her chest rose and fell rapidly.

She pointed down the steps of the bus, frantically shaking her finger in the direction of the main road.

“There’s a fight!” She gasped, “Travis and Seth are scrapping with some random drunks!”

Without another word Jez fled from the bus. Drake cursed under his breath as he flew off after her. I snagged my phone from beside the table and did my best to keep up. My mind was already jumping into business mode. How I was going to contain the damage and how in the hell I was going to stop this from becoming a tabloid nightmare.

They would have barely had time to call a taxi and the boys had somehow managed to get into fight? What in the hell was everyone else doing?

The sound of masculine yelling and the slap of fist to flesh gradually began to get louder and louder. My speed increased as Drake and Jez disappeared out onto the street. The Venue had agreed to let us keep the buses parked out back until we were ready to go. No way were we going to get that offer again if Travis and Seth were beating the shit out of people on their grounds.

“Get that bitch off me!” I heard as I came face to face with three of my charges in various stages of violence. Travis had some stranger in a head lock while Seth was pinned beneath a guy that looked like he could be a heavy weight boxer. Of course that wasn’t all, no, because the third person? Yeah, that was Jo Yancy. The guy pinning Seth was trying to keep his stance above Seth while Jo had latched onto his back, her arms tightened around his neck. I looked around, noticing that there were no other band members in sight. I frowned before my instinct kicked in.

“ZZ, stay back.” Drake told Jez as he jogged towards the carnage. I squeezed her arm as I followed his lead.

“That’s enough.” Drake hollered “Let him go, Jojo!”

Jo bared her teeth, refusing to let go “Not ‘til this motherfucker let’s go of Seth!”

  “Joanna!” Drake snapped “Off. Now!”

He pried her arms from around the man’s neck, placing her behind him as he worked at getting the huge man off Seth. While he went to town at trying to rescue Seth I moved over to where Travis was now rolling around on the floor, trying to maintain control over his sparring partner.

“Travis, enough!” I snapped, trying to get his attention. When the men continued to grapple I moved my coercion up a step. Without further thought I reached down and grabbed a handful of curly, dark blonde curls.

“Fucking hell!” Travis cussed as I pulled him back by his hair, he struggled to get to his feet, raising his hands in surrender. As soon as he was far enough away I placed myself between the two men. The man Travis had been fighting jumped to his feet, ready to charge. He swiped at his mouth as blood trickled from the corner of his lip.

“Back off!” I snapped “This is finished!”

“Is it fuck, that fucker isn’t finished until I’ve got him in fucking hospital. Get out of the way, lady.” I shook my head at his demand “Move or I’ll fucking move you.”

I felt Travis move forward, I blocked his advance.

“Walk it off, Farris!” I ordered over my shoulder. Travis sneered as he took several large steps back, still holding his hands up in surrender. A small relief filled me as he did as asked. There was no need for this to get any worse than it already was. I was more than a little aware that we had acquired a crowd. I was certain there would be picture and videos all over social media already.

“Back off, this is finished.” I growled, taking a step forward “Walk away.”

Then, I realised my mistake. I had been solely relyi
ng on my gender to break the fight. After all, what kind of man would keep pursuing a fight when there was a hapless female between him and his chosen victim? What I didn’t count on was that not all men were as good as my father or the guys in the band. Not all men would put the safety of a stranger over their bloodlust. The man before me had murder in his eyes as he glared after Travis. The space below his right eye twitched as his focus remained solely on the man who had bested him. With a speed I never saw coming he suddenly dived forward. A shocked yelp left my mouth as I felt his strong hand clamp down on my forearm. I pulled back from him, feeling myself slip backwards onto the pavement. I had no idea what his intentions were and I never got a chance to find out.

I looked up just in time to see a large fist crashing into the man’s face with a sickening crunch. Blood spurted from his mouth and nose as he fell to the side. My arm fell free of his hard grip and I found myself staring at my now unconscious assailant.

“Darlin’?” a deep, rough voice asked.

Drake crouched beside me, snapping me out of my shock. I hadn’t even seen Drake approach but from the way he was now flexing his fist, there was no denying he had been the one to throw the punch. I shook my head, trying to put my professional mask back on. I looked around, cursing when I saw various flashes from camera’s and phones.

“Alright, everyone back to the bus.” I snapped at the three street fighters.

“You fuckers are just gonna leave?” the burly man that had pinned Seth spat “That motherfucker threw the first punch.”

He nodded his head towards Travis. Travis bared his teeth in a crazed smile, taunting the man into another fight. With the blood from his cut mouth covering his teeth he looked like some kind of psychopath. I took a deep breath as Drake moved to stand in front of Travis, blocking anymore advances. For this, I was glad. As I’d found out earlier, I was no match for adrenaline fuelled street fighters. There was a fine line between brave and stupid that I’d rather not cross again.
