“Well, that didn’t happen. Grant had my back and Mr. Singer wants me the fuck out of his school this year so he wants me to graduate. Your dad telling you that you can’t see me anymore? That shit ain’t happenin’. I’ll gladly go down for some shit like this. Why the fuck did you even bring that to school?”

“I found it in my brother’s room. I was gonna sell it before he got his stupid ass in trouble for it,” she mumbles. “He’s such a fucking idiot. And sometimes I wonder about you, too. But I’m glad you're not in horrible trouble. I’d never forgive myself if something would have happened to you, you know.”

I reach out and wrap my hand around her neck, pulling her toward me. “You’re welcome,” I say, kissing her lips. “And since you skipped work, you can make it up to me before my brother and your sister get home.”

About three hours ago we parked my car in the field at the edge of my parents’ property just to get away. It’s nice living so close, but we barely get alone time so this is what it’s come to. Sneaking out and driving until no one can see us. Screwing in random places and waiting until the last minute before getting me home right at curfew every night.

“What time is it?” He pulls his phone out to see it’s almost nine. “Want to take a ride? Or you gotta get home?”

“I don’t have to be home till midnight.”

“Want to take a ride? I’ll give you gas money.” He smirks and leans over, pecking my cheek.

“I’m down for anything, as long as it’s with you. But I don’t know where I’m going,” I laugh.

“Yeah, just uh, get to the expressway and head west.” He falls silent after that and looks out the side window for a while.

I reach over and crank up the music then take his hand in mine. He’s quiet most of the drive but it’s nice just being with him. About an hour into the drive he points to an exit and tells me to get off. I have no fucking clue where we are but he wouldn’t take me anywhere crazy dangerous...hopefully.

“Where the hell are we going?” I mutter. It’s dark and these back roads he’s directing me on aren’t lit at all. “Maybe you should drive.”

“No, it’s just up here, but there’s a half driveway right up here, it cuts in where the grass is all overgrown, park the car there and wait until I call you, okay?” He points to where it looks like a driveway was started but never finished and it doesn’t lead to anything except an overgrown field.

“Uh.” I laugh nervously. “You’re not leaving me in the car out here. Where the fuck are we?” The house nearby looks like no one’s lived in it for years and there are windows busted out. I glance over at him and he’s glaring out the window. “Sutton, what the fuck are we here for?” My adrenaline starts to rush through me. I thought he’d never bring me anywhere dangerous but maybe I was wrong. All I know is there’s no way in hell I’m sitting alone in this car out here, waiting to get killed.

“Chill out.” He chuckles. “It’s probably safe, but I’m going to make sure before I have you pull up to the house. I used to live here. Sit your pretty ass tight, and I’ll call you then drive down the road and I’ll be standing in the driveway.” He leans over and gives me a quick kiss before jumping out, and that’s when I see the gun pushed into the back of his pants.

“Oh what the fuck!” I shriek, opening my door and jumping out. “Sutton, what the fuck are you doing with a gun!” Pissed doesn’t begin to explain how I’m feeling. A gun? A fucking gun!

“Shhh, Leena, shut up,” he urges as he hurries toward me. He grabs my face and pins me against the car. “Don’t be so loud.” He kisses me with a biting kiss. “You and that mouth. Just wait here. I told you I’m going to check it out. You trust me, don’t you?” He’s staring into my eyes like I should, but he has a fucking gun.

“Of course,” I blurt, still pissed and hating that I love the way he feels pressed against me. “But again, why the fuck do you have a gun? Where are we? I want answers, Sutton.”

“What’s your dad or brother use to protect them self and the family? A fucking gun. That’s why I have a gun. To protect myself. I told you I used to live here. As far as I know it’s vacant but I’m gonna make sure of it before I let you go up to that house. And if my dad’s there.” He shrugs and moves away from me. “I’ll put a fucking bullet through his skull.” He starts walking down the dark road again.

Part of me wants to run after him and part of me wants to lock myself in the car and wait until it’s safe. I’ve seen enough scary movies to know that running after him probably isn’t the best idea, so with an annoyed huff I fall back into the car and lock the doors, watching the clock. The minute he’s been gone for more than fifteen minutes I’m driving up there and calling the cops. This is bullshit, and terrifying.

And yet, a small portion of me finds it insanely hot.

My phone rings ten minutes later and I feel like I can breathe again.

“Hey,” I say, trying not to be annoyed. Really fucking trying not to be pissed at him for doing this to me.

“Run for your fucking life!” he screams into the phone before bursting into laughter.

“I’m going to kill you!” I yell, my heart hammering in my chest. “You asshole!” I end the call and throw the car in reverse before pulling down the road a little and into the overgrown driveway. When I see him he’s still laughing so I get out of the car and storm over to him. “What the fuck is your problem?” I point to the house. “You could have just walked into something you’re not prepared for with a fucking gun! And you left me sitting like bait!” I shove him and he laughs then grips my wrists.

“Bait for what?” He chuckles. “I said don’t come until you get the call. You got the call.” He kisses me softly. “And I didn’t even have to use the gun. Come on.” Grabbing my hand, he pulls me to the back of a farm style house. It’s hard to see but it looks like this is farmland. “Go through,” he says pulling a board back for me to slip into this house that’s boarded up.

“This is so fucking stupid,” I mutter, but slide through and wait for him before moving from my spot. “Why are we here, Sutton? This place gives me the creeps.”

“I never got to come back,” he says and I realize what he means. He got locked up and never came back. I don’t even think Fenton came back to this house.

Using the light on his phone, he leads the way to a door with a plastic sign on it that says Keep Out in kid’s writing. Next to that is a sign that says Sutton Parking Only. The door squeaks like it’s in pain when he pushes it open. A boy’s bedroom awaits us, along with a few year’s worth of dust.

He goes through the drawers of a dresser then desk before looking around. Chuckling, he sits on the bed. “Still sucks.”

“Why couldn’t we just have come in the daylight?” I ask, my anger from earlier being replaced with a hint of sadness. If I was taken from my home and returned to...this? God, that would suck. “I mean, whose property is this now?”

“I don’t know.” He shrugs. “The state I guess, and ‘cause.” He lays back onto the bed and puts his hands behind his head. “I wanted to see if I could catch my dad here.” His casual tone is infuriating. This place is creepy! Hands down.

“Catch...your dad?” I stare at him and it slowly starts clicking into place. “You’ve got it out for your dad?” I’ve overheard Fenton and my dad talking about the man, but only in passing and only enough to know no one’s seen him since the day Sutton got locked up.

“My dad deserves what’s coming for him.” His eyes won’t leave mine.

“And what exactly is that?’ I whisper, praying that a bullet to the head isn’t his answer.

“A big hug.” He laughs then scoots over on the bed, patting the spot next to him. I hesitantly sit, but he grabs me and pulls me down, sliding over me and kissing me. “You’re fucking hot.” He tries to kiss me again but I stop him.

“Sutton, what does your dad have coming for him?” He’s got a gun. And he jokingly said he’d put a bullet in his head, but after all
this tonight, I’m not so sure that he was joking.

He pushes my hair back, sliding his fingers through it to the end before twirling. “My dad tried to kill Fenton, Leena,” he says softly, calmly. “He hit us all the time and it only got worse when my mom split. My dad’s the epitome of the word asshole.”

I stare into his eyes, praying he’s not planning on killing his dad. “Right, I get that.” I do. “But you have a gun, Sutton. And you brought it here what? Hoping you’d find him? Then what, just hide the body and hope no one finds out you killed someone?”

Fuck, I thought I was crazy!

“Why would they find the body of a man they can’t find when he’s alive?” A slow grin parts his lips and normally I like this smile, but not this time. “Just some revenge. It’s human nature.” He leans down and kisses me.

I should stop him and try to talk him out of this. But his hand slides up the front of my shirt and his fingers find my nipples, pinching so hard it makes me gasp.

“You’re insane,” I mumble as he kisses me.

“You love it.” His kiss deepens and he lifts my leg to wrap around his waist. Pulling back, he looks into my face and looks like he wants to say something, but instead his hand slides into the front of my pants and connects with my clit like there was a string guiding his hand there.

“I don’t like the thought of you getting hurt.” I gasp when his fingers push into me. “And...fuck.” My body arches into his touch. “I don’t like the thought of you going back to prison,” I finish on a moan, my hands gripping onto the mildew smelling bedspread.

“I’m not getting hurt right now. And neither are you.” He starts to slide down my body, taking my pants off as he goes. “And I’m not going anywhere,” he claims before his mouth locks over me and his tongue slides into me.

“Oh my god,” I moan, lifting my hips to meet his face for more contact. My fist grips his hair and I push him harder between my legs. “Fuck, Sutton.”

He pulls my hands from his hair and locks our fingers while his tongue twirls around and around, flicking every sensitive nerve in my clit. My eyes flutter closed and my body arches, begging for more. He’s good. He licks me to the edge then backs off, like he knows exactly what he’s doing to me. Driving me mad. Making me ache for him. For more.

“Fuck me, Sutton,” I moan. “I need you inside of me.” My heart’s hammering for this to keep going but I don’t want it to end.

With a growl and moving faster than expected, he’s over me and sliding into me before I can even blink. He doesn’t even have his pants off and I try to shove them down, but only get far enough that his firm ass is out, so I grab on.

“Fuck,” he grunts, thrusting into me hard and making it hurt, but I love it because pleasure chases the rough slam each time he thrusts. He bites my lips and pulls. “Arms above your head, Leena. Grip the head board.” His demand is as forceful as his thrusts and I comply. “Fuck.” He shoves my shirt up and latches onto my nipple, pulling his teeth over the tight bead. “Fuck.” Each fuck he grunts gets me closer. It’s like he’s trying to chase his own pain away inside of me and it only makes him more crazed and forceful. “You’re mine,” he says, our eyes locked. His green eyes illuminated by what little light the moon is shining through the thin curtains. “Right?” he snaps when I don’t reply right away.

“Right,” I pant, edging closer to release with every forceful thrust. “Always.” I want to touch him but the demand to keep my hands on the headboard turned me on and I really don’t want to disappoint.

He kisses me, a little softer than the last kiss but not by much. With every thrust, he releases a noise like he's running a race. Like he’s panting and it hurts. I can hear it. Something hurts inside him and he’s not enjoying this like he should.

“Sutton,” I whisper and let out a moan when he hits me deep again. His eyes hit mine and I see the pain right before he slams into me harder and pushes his forehead to mine. “God.” The small shift in his angle hits me perfectly and sends waves of pleasure through me. “Oh my god,” I whisper, gripping the headboard as tight as I can. “I’m going to come,” I squeak out, feeling my body start to tense and trying to let it take over.

“Do it. Fucking come,” he demands from me and his hand goes to my throat but he doesn’t apply pressure. “Come, Leena.” His mouth slams to mine.

“Harder. Please harder.” I arch my neck and he squeezes just tight enough for me to feel the restraint, then thrusts harder and harder until I scream. “Fuck!” My body shakes, my eyes fly open and I hear him curse then grunt only seconds after me.

He keeps moving but the thrusts become jerky and when I wrap my arms around his neck, his arms move quickly to slide under me, holding me tightly. His forehead presses to my shoulder and he tries to catch his breath. That was more than fucking and he can’t deny it. Whatever that was...it was more. He holds me until he’s caught his breath, then pulls back and looks me in the eyes, sliding his hands around my head and kissing me deep.

When he yanks back suddenly, I go stiff, not sure what’s wrong. “Fuck,” he whispers, his gaze slowly drifting toward the corner of the room and I’m afraid to look. There’s going to be some monster waiting to eat us. “Fuck, dude.” He gets up. “Aw fuck.” His head goes to his hands when he looks between my legs and I lift myself up, getting pissed. “I’m sorry. I didn’t fucking wrap it.”

“Oh,” I blurt, relieved that no one’s here to kill us. “Oh.” I start to laugh. “It’s fine. I’m covered. I promise. And you’ve been in prison with a bunch of dudes, so it’s not like you've been sleeping around.” I slide my panties up and cringe. “But I could use a bathroom.” I laugh, shifting. That’s the first time I’ve ever had unprotected sex...and it felt amazing. “You're adorable, by the way.” I pat his cheek. “White as a ghost, too.”

He rolls his eyes and grabs my hand, pulling me from the bed. Bending down he picks up the gun he had on the floor right next to the bed and I close my eyes a minute. “No plumbing, sexy.” He slaps my ass then heads out into the hall. “Pop a squat out back.” Every floorboard creaks and the thump of shoes echo. It’s so quiet around here which just adds to the killer vibe. I follow the direction he walked into a dingy looking kitchen. “Hey, you like Sugar Flakes?” He grabs a box of cereal from the table and chuckles. “What a fucking loser. Shit fucking dad, whore fucking mom.” He shakes his head and I move toward him until a noise we didn’t make comes from the front of the house.

He jerks his head and pulls the gun from the back of his pants. I grab his wrist to stop him but he pushes me backward. When I try to grab him again, he shoots me a stern look and starts moving down the hallway. I want to scream for him to get back here but if there’s a person in there I don’t' want to give us away, so I inch toward the hallway where he just disappeared and when the yelling starts my entire body freezes.

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck! My phone’s in the car but I can’t leave him alone in here!

And then the gunshot comes. I scream, jumping back when I hear another and before I can register what’s happening, Sutton’s barreling down the hall with the gun in his hand, yelling "Run!”

He has a hold of my arm and is shoving me ahead of him, but I can’t see shit and I don’t know this house. Finally he shoves me out the back door and when we hit the wooden porch, it breaks under us. We’re fighting splintering wood and two people screaming at the top of their lungs like banshees. Sutton yanks me out of the mess and shoves me, tripping when he does and I go back for him. Another shot is fired and I felt that one skim past me. We’re going to fucking die. My heart’s in my throat as I scramble to get my footing. I yank him up and barrel towards the car, running faster than I ever have. My hands are shaking as I try to put the key in the ignition and I don’t even know if I’m on a road or not as I speed the car away. My body’s painfully shaking and I feel like I could vomit.

Once we get far enough away that I'm sure whoever that was didn’t follow us, I pull the car onto the side
of the road and let out a scream. “Fuck! Sutton, what the fuck!” I’m still fucking shaking. “Was that your dad?”

“No,” he pants, trying to look out the back windshield. “Squatters.” He’s breathing heavily and when he looks down, I see he’s holding his leg, blood covering his hand.

“Were you shot?” I blurt, flipping on the cab light. “Fuck, fuck,” I whine, trying to find something in my back seat to help stop the blood. I feel a tear slip out when I can’t find anything. “Fuck!”

“No! Fuck, just drive, Leena, drive!” he yells at me, trying to pull me back into the front seat. “Fuck.” He keeps looking out the back windshield like he knows something I don’t, so I step on the gas.

He doesn’t talk to me the entire drive back to town and I’m glad because I’m not sure what to say to him. He could have been killed. We could have been killed! And now he’s bleeding and I don’t know what happened and holy shit. My tears eventually stop but not until we’re pulling off the highway and by then I think my anger has simmered but the fear is still there.

“Pull over,” he blurts and I quickly do, throwing the car in park and looking over, not sure what to do for him. He grabs my face and slams our mouths together, kissing me frantically. He pulls back to say, “I love you,” then kisses me again. “I love you,” he repeats, still kissing me over and over.

I try to catch my breath, emotions making my body tremble, and when he pulls back and looks at me, his hands still cupping my face, my trembling fingers move to rest over his hands.

“I love you,” I whisper, knowing it’s true. I wouldn’t be this addicted and crazy about him if I didn’t. “Are you hurt?”

“Fuck,” he says with a hiss and that’s my answer. “The fuckin’ porch.” He slides back into his seat. “Fuck, I’m sorry.” His bloody hands cover his face, then I become aware of his blood on me. Looking down, he grabs his jeans and rips them, shifting enough that the light coming in from the moon shows a piece of wood jabbed through his thigh.
