“Who’s your mom?” Nuke called back to her.

  “Vanessa Gonzales!”

“I have no idea who that is. Do either of you?”

Kevin and Pipe shook their heads.

“BOTTLES! You guys call her Bottles!” the girl screamed.

“Huh!” Pipe pulled her close to his face. “You don’t look like your mom.”

“I swear I won’t tell. I’ve always loved the Hells Vipers! I’d love to suck your cock, all of you if you let me. I want to fuck all of you, too. You can do whatever you want to me, just please don’t kill me! I know how to do that trick with bottles just like my mom.”

“She knows too much, and I’m not just talking about tricks with bottles,” Kevin said as he looked over at Nuke.

Nuke stared straight ahead as he drove and didn’t respond.

“Did you hear me? She knows too much,” Kevin repeated. “What are we going to do, Sergeant at Arms?” Kevin teased.

Nuke white-knuckled the steering wheel. He was no longer amused by the situation.

“We got bodies in the back of the van. She saw us kill them,” Kevin said.

“Kevin, just shut the fuck up!” Nuke shouted, trying to contain himself.

“I’ll admit, it was hard killing a woman, but do you want to end back up in prison doing life all because you let some slut live? You want to leave your wife all alone again? Her ex-fiancé might come back in the picture.” Kevin laughed maliciously.

“SHUT UP!” Nuke yelled at him.

“Yeah, fuck you, man! Stop being an asshole. He’s driving; get him all upset, he might run off the road! Don’t play that shit, you hear me?” As Pipe held the girl, he punched Kevin in the back of the head with his other hand.

“FUCK!” Kevin yelled, grabbing his head. “I was using her ex as an example. Fucking relax! I was in Nuke’s position and his job is to protect the club. It’s not easy. You have to make tough decisions and that skank in the back seat is a security risk!”

“I’m not. I promise! I’ll do anything you want,” the girl pleaded.

“Pass her up here!” Kevin said as he unzipped his pants.

Pipe hauled the girl up toward the front of the van.

“Leave her alone,” Nuke ordered Pipe.

“Don’t you miss being single?” Kevin said zipping his pants back up. “You know, you can be married all you want. It doesn’t mean you can’t let some gash suck your dick once in a while.”

“I don’t miss random chicks and STD checks. You would think that you’d have learned your lesson by now. Fucking women over can have deadly consequences.”

Kevin smirked. “Right, you’re a family man now, or you will be, right? What about kids, you and Jasmine going to have some?”

  “Yep, sooner or later.”

“How you going to deal with that? Having biracial kids?”

“What do you mean how will I deal with it?” Nuke turned to Kevin for a moment, then focused back on the road in front of him.

“How will you deal with it? Won’t it bother you a little?”

Nuke frowned. “No, it won’t. They will be ours and more importantly, they will be loved and wanted. Not an accident.” That last comment was a deliberate shot at Kevin and the child that only he and Pipe knew Kevin had. “How do you deal with being a deadbeat dad? You haven’t laid eyes on that kid in years.”

  Kevin didn’t bother to respond.

Pipe burst into laughter. “He got you there, bro,” Pipe said. “Now boys, let’s play nice while we go on our road trip. A topic change is needed before a fight starts. Smash or pass, Lady Gaga. Nuke, you go first.”

  “Hmm, pass,” Nuke said.

  “Kevin?” Pipe asked.

“I’m not playing this stupid game.”

“He’s pissed off because I brought up his kid,” Nuke said. “Alright Pipe, smash or pass, Helen Mirren and Beyoncé?”

“Smash on both and in that order,” Pipe replied.

  “I agree,” Nuke said.

“You’re both nasty,” Kevin said and shook his head.

“Jennifer Lopez?” Pipe asked as he took his turn.

“Pass, she looks like a bitch.”

“Smash or pass any of the Kardashian sisters?” Nuke asked.

“The young one that’s a model,” Pipe snorted.

. “I pick Khloe,” Nuke replied. “Perhaps Kim before she had all of that plastic surgery. Those young ones are too young for me. I don’t have the temperament for that anymore.”

“You know that all of us have the wrong-colored dick for a Kardashian,” Pipe chuckled.

“The one that’s always pregnant is with some white dude,” Kevin mumbled.

“What’s wrong with Jennifer Lopez? And I like Beyoncé, too,” the girl offered.

“No one asked you, skank,” Pipe hissed.

She shifted her bound body around in between the seats. “Please let me suck your cock!” she said to Nuke.

Nuke glanced down at her. “Hell no!” He shook his head with his nose turned up.

“Scared your wife will beat your ass?” Kevin jested.

“I’d beat my own ass if I stuck my dick into that!”

“Pass the weed!” Pipe stuck out his hand.

Nuke reached into his jacket pocket and removed one of the bags. He reached behind the seat and gave it to Pipe. “What are you going to roll it with?”

“Nothing, just going to eat it rare,” Pipe laughed. “Get it, rare as in raw.”

“Lordy!” Kevin shook his head as he looked at Nuke.

“Drag her back there. She’s in the way up here,” Nuke said to Pipe. “And that’s just nasty!” Nuke turned up his nose again. “And it takes too long to get high that way!” Nuke schooled him.

Pipe pulled the girl to the back of the van. She laid there on top of the bodies, trembling with fear.

“Can’t I give you a blow job?” she asked Pipe, sounding even more desperate.

“No. And if you get out of this alive, you need to rethink your choice of perfume,” Pipe said, sniffing disgustedly.”

They drove in silence for several miles when finally Kevin spoke up. “You know I didn’t mean that about the two of you having a kid right?” he said without looking at Nuke.

“I guess,” Nuke replied as he kept his eyes on the dark road ahead of him.

“I’ll be a great uncle to your kid or kids,” Kevin continued, trying to make amends.

“Yeah, me, too!” Pipe spoke up. “Keep ’em on the straight and narrow.”

  “Hmm,” Nuke moaned.

“Bro, what if you have a girl?” Kevin turned and looked at Nuke this time.

“I’ve thought about that. Man, I don’t know.” Nuke shook his head. “I think I’ll send her to a convent or something. We’re homeschooling, that much I do know. The school system sucks. I hope our kids have Jasmine’s personality, not mine.”

“Pfft, she’s a bad-ass,” Kevin replied. “Brock told me that he overheard her in the kitchen with your brother when Holden first showed up. She told him something about how he better not fuck you over because he’d have to deal with her if he did. Your bitch got some balls on her.”

  Nuke smiled. “That’s my girl.

“Wouldn’t it be awesome if she did have balls and a dick along with a pussy? She’d be fucking perfect!” Nuke and Kevin looked at each other, and then they glanced back at Pipe. “Dude, you can’t be high yet; you haven’t eaten enough,” Kevin said, looking at him oddly.

“I’m not high. I think that would be cool. A chick with a pussy and dick is like buy one get one free.”

“I…I don’t even know how to respond to that,” Nuke said.

  ***

It was an hour before they got to the dumping spot. Nuke drove the van to an already dug grave site in the woods. They removed the bodies and dumped them in the pit. The three of them stood there staring down at the work they’d done as the Hit Squad.

One of the body bags started to move with a s
light groan. “What the fuck?” Nuke asked as he knelt down for a closer look. “You both see that, right?”

“Yep!” Kevin and Pipe both responded.

“How the fuck is he not dead?” Kevin said.

Nuke shook his head. “Maybe it’s electronic impulses firing from the brain. He could be dead already, just twitching and releasing gas.” Nuke stood back up and pulled out the nine millimeter from his waistband. He shot into the body and it stopped moving. “There. If he was alive, I did him a favor.” Nuke turned and glared at the girl in the back of the van. He reached in and dragged her out by the ankle. He lifted her up and tossed her next to the hole.

“He wants me to kill you,” Nuke said and pointed at Kevin. “The other one doesn’t give a fuck either way. We all think you know too much.” He glanced over at Kevin and Pipe, then back to the crying girl.

He stood over her as he continued to speak. “I need you to understand that it’s not personal. I got a wife and a club; they’re my family. You told us too much. You know who we are by name and you mentioned she-who-must-not-be-named,” Nuke said.

  “I won’t tell, I swear!”

Nuke scanned the darkness as the trees swayed back and forth and the wind picked up. He then looked back down at the girl.

She lost control of her bodily functions when his eyes met hers and he felt bad for her. He imagined if it was Jasmine in the wrong place at the wrong time. What would he want someone to do?

“It’s my job to protect my family. I didn’t want it, still don’t, but they forced it on me. I liked being Road Captain. Anyway,” he sighed, “you were in the wrong place at the wrong time. It happens and I’m sorry.” He removed the knife from his belt. He knelt down and cut the ties on her ankles and hands. He then stood back up and pulled out the nine millimeter from his waist band. He shot into the dirt next to her face. She let out a gut-wrenching scream that lingered in the air.

She threw her hands up to shield her face. She assumed that he was going to shoot at her again and not miss this time.

“That was a warning. Now get up!” he ordered her.

She struggled to her feet, her knees weak.

Nuke turned to Kevin and Pipe and stuck out his hand. Kevin rolled his eyes, but both of them reached into their pockets and took out what money they had. Nuke did the same. He counted the money – it was over five hundred dollars. “It won’t get you far, but you’re alive. If I see or hear from you again, you WILL die. Are we clear on that?”

“Yes, yes, thank you!” she screamed as she ran toward Nuke and threw her arms around him. She hugged him in appreciation, then moved on to Kevin and Pipe. “I swear, you’ll never hear from me again!”

“We’re making a mistake,” Kevin said.

Nuke didn’t respond as he walked over and took two shovels from the back of the van. “You can sit this one out because your back hurts,” Nuke said as he gave Pipe a shovel.

“Yep, bro, we got this!” Pipe smiled.

“Um…can I go?” The girl asked.

“Yes,” Nuke replied as he threw dirt onto the bodies. He glanced over to see her take off through the woods.

Kevin stood up, saying, “I’m going to go take a leak.”

Nuke felt his blood run cold. He turned around and looked at Kevin. “Bro?”

Kevin looked back over his shoulder. “What?”

“We’re not killing an innocent, especially a woman!”

“I have to piss!” Kevin headed off into the trees.

Nuke and Pipe exchanged looks. “You want me to follow him?” Pipe asked.

  “Naw, he’s not that stupid.”

It was several minutes before Kevin returned. He walked back over and sat down by the van.

  “We good, bro?” Nuke asked.

Kevin nodded. “Yep, I just had to take a leak.”

Nuke looked at him curiously. He dismissed his gut feeling as he went back to throwing dirt on the bodies.

  Chapter Sixteen

  Sweet emotion

They buried the bodies, ditched the van. It was after eleven a.m. the next day when Ice picked them up and they went to the clubhouse to retrieve their bikes. Nuke, Kevin and Pipe then headed over to Nuke’s trailer.

Nuke opened the door and walked in, followed by Kevin and then Pipe, who immediately went into the kitchen and opened the refrigerator. Nuke grabbed the bottle of pain pills that was sitting on the counter and handed it to Kevin. “It’s only Vicodin. Jasmine had a tooth worked on a few days ago. They made her nauseated so she stopped taking them.” Nuke took off his cut and hung it over the back of a kitchen chair.

“Thanks,” Kevin said as he opened the bottle and popped two in his mouth. He headed toward the couch just as Jasmine walked in. “Hey, Jasmine,” he said as he lay down on the sofa.

“Hello,” she said as she walked to Nuke.

Nuke reached out for her, pulling her to him. He moved in to give her a kiss but she hesitated slightly.

“Why do you smell like perfume?”

Kevin let out a chuckle. “You in trouble!” He laughed even harder as he removed his cut.

Nuke cracked a smile. “It’s nothing, baby. You know you can trust me.” He attempted to pull her closer to him and she stepped back.

“Why is there makeup on your T-shirt?” Jasmine became instantly irritated as images of various women at the clubhouse filled her mind.

“Babe!” Nuke said. “Come on, I’m not that guy, you know that!”

Pipe drank out of the carton of orange juice as he peeked around the corner cabinet in the kitchen. “Hey, Harley!”

“Pipe, don’t drink out of the carton!” She hated that her voice reflected the overwhelming insecurity she was feeling.

“Pipe, get a glass, bro,” Nuke said trying to defuse her foul mood.

“Why do you smell like cheap perfume?” She had raised her voice as she reached out and touched the make-up on his shirt.

“Club business, Jasmine,” Nuke calmly replied. “It’s not what you think!”

She looked over at Pipe; he was still drinking out of the carton. She stomped past Nuke and went into the kitchen. She took a glass from the cabinet and the juice from Pipe. She poured it into the glass and handed it to Pipe. She leaned in and smelled him.

“Both of you smell like the same perfume!”

Kevin raised his hand. “No need to sniff me. I reek just like they do.”

Jasmine stared at Nuke. “Where were you at all night?”

“You know I can’t tell you that. Why you getting all upset? You know how this works. I’m not doing anything wrong, Jasmine!”

“She’s upset because that’s what wives do when you don’t come home,” Kevin called over from the couch. He was making himself comfortable as he enjoyed the argument. “A man comes home smelling like perfume and with makeup on his shirt, a woman tends to get pissed off.”

“I’m upset because I haven’t seen you since yesterday afternoon. You only responded to a few of my text messages. You come home and all of you smell like the same freaking woman! There’s makeup on your shirt and you think I’m just going to be okay with that? I’m not that damn submissive and you know that! We have a good relationship, Nuke, but come on. This would bother any woman!”

“There are some things you can’t just stop doing to answer a phone call.”

“He behaved, Jasmine. I won’t say he was good boy because we all know that’s impossible,” Kevin said, trying to add a little fuel to the fire.

“You wouldn’t tell me the truth. You don’t even like me!” she yelled at Kevin.

He sat up and looked over the back of the sofa at her. “I like you! He’s my bro; that makes us fucking related! You two are a good fit. I just want him to let go of some of the craziness over you. He kept it in his pants, alright. In fact, he wouldn’t shut the hell up talking about you all damn night.”

“Where were you?” Jasmine asked again as she ignored Kevin.

  “Jasmine.” He pulled h
er to him. He understood why she was upset but there was nothing he could do about it. “I know it looks bad, but I got your name tattooed on my dick. That should mean something if the ring on your finger doesn’t.”

There he was again, still taking a shot at the fact that she’d sold her wedding ring. He still wasn’t over it even if he claimed that he was.

“It’s weird to be the only guy in the room who doesn’t have a tattoo on his dick,” Pipe said as he continued to rummage through their kitchen.

Jasmine looked over at Pipe. He threw up his hands in self-defense. “Don’t yell at me again, I’m using a glass now,” he joked.

“I’m not going to yell at you,” Jasmine replied. “Should I be worried?” she asked Pipe. She was recounting when he had said that another woman would never be a problem for her and Nuke.

“What the fuck is this?” Nuke looked between Jasmine and Pipe. “Why are you asking him anything?

“Because he wouldn’t lie to me. Kevin would.”

Kevin nodded. “She’s right about that, but I didn’t lie this time.”

“No Harley, you shouldn’t be worried.” Pipe didn’t want to get in the middle of their argument. “Nuke, I told her that another woman will never come between you two.”

She nodded but moved away from Nuke’s grasp. She walked over to the table and slipped her purse on her shoulder. “I’m going to the grocery store.”

“So you believe him and not me?” Nuke questioned.

“No, I just needed to hear it from another reliable person.”

“She’s scary when she’s pissed,” Pipe said as he opened the refrigerator again. He was attempting to make light of the situation.

Kevin nodded. “She’s probably has PMS,” Kevin said as he yawned.

  Nuke laughed.

She spun around to face all of them, especially Nuke. “I fail to see the amusement in all of this.”

“Relax!” Nuke said as he pulled her to him again.

She struggled angrily against him. “GET OFF OF ME!” she said between gritted teeth.

“I hate it when Mom and Dad fight!” Pipe whined.

“You’re upset because you were worried,” Nuke said, ignoring Pipe.
