“Skye…Skye…What are you doing?” Ivy asked.

A sense of clarity washed over her, enough to release her passionate grip on Conner and pull away from him. All eyes were watching her including a confused Conner. She turned to her friend, the only one who’d understand. “It’s back, Ivy. I have to go.”

She wiggled out of his arms and ran from the pub out into the evening, away from the man she desired. She ran out into the parking lot and breathed in the night air deeply, filling her lungs to capacity. Taking a quick look around, she realized she remained completely alone. She raised her arms into the air, calling the wind to her. The air circled around her body, embracing her and calming her. She could always count on the wind to comfort her, no matter what. She managed to breathe through the heat ravaging through her core until it finally dissipated and left her completely.

Feeling relieved to have thwarted the heat for now, she began to feel embarrassed, mortified by her wanton behavior. She hastily searched for a cab and spotted one pulling into the parking lot. She flagged it down and hopped in the back. Ten minutes later, she arrived home and decided to go for a late-night walk. Not the safest thing for a woman to do alone, but she needed time with her precise wind to think things through. She changed her clothes to something more suitable to go for a walk in and took off into the night, just Skye and the wind.

Connor sat on the barstool, wondering what the hell had happened. He stood up to chase after Skye when her friend touched his shoulder to stop him.

  “Don’t go after her.”

“But…I don’t understand what happened. One minute we were having a wonderful conversation and the next, she kissed me passionately. I really should go and talk to her.” Conner noticed her companions now stood beside her protectively. He sniffed the air subtly and realized the men were not what they seemed. Werewolves. He didn’t notice their scent until now. This woman had him completely under her spell for him not to notice the two men.

“Skye is going through some things right now and needs to be alone.”

“What did she mean when she said ‘it’s back’?”

“I think you need to talk to her about the issue.”

“I don’t think she wants to see me again. But I would love to see her.”

“By the way, I’m Ivy and these are my men, Luke and Levi.” She pointed to the identical twins when she said each of their names. All three men nodded to each other in a stilted manner.

They know what I am. “I’m Conner.”

  “Are you new in town?”

  “Yes.”

“Oh, really, when did you arrive?”

“Early this morning, my brother and I arrived in town.”

Ivy turned to her men and looked at them knowingly then turned her smiling gaze back to him. “Came into town this morning, eh? Would you like to know how to get in touch with Skye?”

Her words brought him some much-needed hope. “More than anything.”

“She works at Elemental Magic. It’s located on—”

“I know where it is,” he interrupted eagerly. “I walked by the shop today.”

“She’ll be opening the store tomorrow morning with me, so you might want to stop in and say hi. If I know Skye, she’ll be terribly embarrassed for her behavior tonight, so she might hide from you when you come in. I’ll make sure she doesn’t run away.”

“Thank you so much, Ivy, but I have to ask you something. Why do you want to help me with Skye?”

“I believe you might be the right kind of man for her, if I’m not being too presumptuous.”

Dillon walked up behind Conner and slapped him gently on the shoulder. “Is everything all right here?” They’re werewolves, Conner.

I’m very aware of what they are. “Yes. I’m talking to my new friends. This is my brother, Dillon.”

After the introductions had been made, and the idle conversation came to a close, the brothers said their farewells to their new friends and left the bar.

“I have to go to the air element’s home tonight. Are you still coming with me, Conner?”

“Would you mind if I stayed home? I’m tired.”

“Did something happen in there when I left you alone?”

“You could say that. I’ll tell you about it tomorrow. Drop me off at home, and I’ll do some unpacking before I turn in.”

  “Okay, whatever you want.”

Following the scent he rubbed on the trees earlier in the day, Dillon found the air elemental’s home with ease. The house remained dark for about thirty minutes as he sat and waited in his black panther form. Finally, the lights came on, bursting through the windows, into the night. He assessed the backyard to be about an acre in size with large trees and dense brush blocking any views of the yard from her neighbors. She had a deck with railings extending from the sliding doors of her house, but as much as he checked out the surroundings, he found his gaze constantly pulled back to the air element symbol on the wall.

Suddenly, the back light of the house came on, illuminating the deck. The sliding doors opened, and she came out into view. His breath caught in his throat. She stood before him, a stunning beauty with a magical quality about her. He’d been attracted to women before at first glance, but never like this. Something mystical swirled in the air, enchanting his heart. Her blonde hair piled on her head gave her a halo effect while her glasses appeared studious and sexy. She wore a short, white robe, and Dillon could only imagine what lay beneath .

With a half-full wineglass in her hand, she stepped to the railing and leaned her forearms on top cap. She stared into the night sky as if searching for something, possibly answers. The wind picked up around her, but didn’t seem to rustle the leaves in the forest.

“Oh no, not again,” she whispered to the night.

Dillon wondered what her statement could mean. Her wineglass fell out of her hands to the grass below and her glasses magically floated in the air, from her face, to an outdoor table in a corner of the deck. The clip holding her hair in place joined her glasses gracefully and her thick locks unravelled and spilled down her back.

Her face had gone from peaceful and pensive to a lustful look in a matter of seconds. The wind swirled around her body, untying her robe and sliding it down her arms. She stood on the deck naked, his night vision taking in every detail of her body, from her firm breasts to the line of dark blonde hair shaved on her pussy.

His cat demanded he go to her, take her, and make her belong to him. At war with his cat, he finally won and shape-shifted back into a man in order to gain some control. However, the man in him wanted to do exactly what his cat wanted. He looked away from her briefly, pulled in a lungful of air, and then forced it out slowly, trying to calm himself. His balls ached, and his erection urged him to take action, but he remained hiding in the brush, wondering what would happen next. He realized she had control of the wind, but wondered if the wind might be taking control of her.

He focused his attention back to the siren. She no longer stood on the deck. Instead, she floated in the air in the middle of her yard, her legs spread apart and her plump nipples hardening before him. The wind seemed to blow over her body, centering strong gusts of air in intimate places. He noticed the wind blowing her outer lips open, giving him a tantalizing view of her inner pussy. He didn’t know how much more of this he could take. He knew he should leave, affording her a private encounter with her precious air, but he couldn’t seem to command his body to leave. He seemed hopelessly lost to her.

Her back arched as the wind blew on her clit, and she cried out with pleasure.

God, I wish I was the wind right now. Desperately, he wanted to taste her, fill her full with his aching cock, and make her belong to him. He watched her body tense, building to a sensuous crescendo. Suddenly, he felt the wind at his back, urging him forward. He allowed himself to be pushed out from the brush and glided to her side.

She didn’t seem to notice him stand
ing beside her as the wind immediately floated and delivered her tense, shaking body into his arms. Gazing passionately at him, she whispered, “Take me.”

He wanted nothing more than to take this willing creature, but he wanted to make sure she had a clear head before he did. Leaning down, he kissed her soft, ripe lips. She tasted sweet, and he longed to feast on her for more than one night. She returned his kiss with incredible ardor, their tongues playfully toying with each other.

He could feel the wind swirling around them like a tornado, holding them captive in the center. Maybe the wind thinks we should be together. Pulling away from her kiss, he gently placed her on the ground. Looming large over her body at six foot three inches, he felt her claw at his shoulders and pull him down to her lips again. He made up his mind to give her sweet release, and if she still wanted him after, then he would oblige. He knew he was pushing his control to the edge, but her needs and wants came first.

Continuing to kiss her deeply, he ran his hand over her body, starting at her full, rosy nipples, skimming across her soft belly and finally to her mons. She arched instantly against his hand, giving her approval. Parting her slick folds, he slid one finger inside her pulsating core. With his thumb, he applied pressure to her clit, circling the sensitive nub, while she cried with obvious delight. He continued to touch her intimately, her body tensing under his. Finally, she pulled away from his lips, and came with a carnal cry into the night.

Hold on, keep it under control. She must choose you. She stared up into the sky, catching her breath. Dillon removed his hand with great remorse from the slick warmth between her legs. “You’re amazing,” he blurted out, unable to stop himself from breaking the spell the wind seemed to have cast over them.

  Chapter Four

Gazing longingly at him, she enquired, “Are you a dream? If you are, you’re one hell of a sexy dream.”

“Thank you for the compliment. No, I’m quite real, and I’m so taken by you.”

“Oh my God, you saw me. You saw what happened. This is bad. Very bad.” She quickly stood up and grabbed her robe brought to her by the wind. She covered her body and asked, “Who are you? What are you doing here? Where are your clothes?”

“My name’s Dillon. I arrived in town early this morning. My clothes are lying in the forest about a mile back.” Standing up slowly, he smiled seductively at her.

Arrived in town this morning? Maybe he’s the reason why I went into my first heat. “Do you often wander naked in the forest at night? Oh, wait a minute, are you an earth elemental?” Her fear and embarrassment subsided, to be replaced by an excited moment of discovery to find others like her and her friends.

“I’m afraid I’m not an earth elemental. I’m actually a cat shifter.”

“What? Are you serious?” I’ve heard about them, but never have I actually met one. How exciting.” Skye paused briefly to think about the situation. “What were you doing in my backyard?”

“Whenever I come to a new town, I always explore the neighborhood and forests. One can’t be too careful when you’re different. I noticed your air symbol on your wall, and it caught my attention. Then I saw your stunning beauty. You’ve completely captivated me.”

Blushing at his admission, she coyly looked at him. He looked like a Greek god, his body defined and cut, his short, black hair casually styled. She took a cautious glance downward, his erection thick and long. My God, he’s magnificent.

He took a few tentative steps toward her, invading her personal space boldly. She didn’t move, mesmerized by his stealthy strides and handsome features. He placed his hand on her cheek as if he were testing her reaction. Leaning into his touch, her gaze never left his green eyes. Hopelessly lost in him, she reached out and settled her hands on his chest. His skin warmed her fingertips, and she could feel his heart beat faster, matching the beat of her own.

Engulfing her body in his, he kissed her again, sweetly, tenderly. Without resistance, he managed to slip her robe off before he led her back to the ground. He edged a knee between her thighs, and she opened her legs up to him. Settling himself on top of her, he began kissing her lips, her neck, and then the swell of her breasts. She raked her fingernails across his back while he rasped hungrily on her hardened peaks. Have mercy.

“Take me, Dillon,” she begged as she rocked her hips toward him while her pussy begged to be filled. I can’t believe I’m doing this with him. She surprised herself as she never slept with a man on the first few dates, and she didn’t have the excuse of the heat burning her up inside. The draw to this man rested completely on her natural desire for him.

Dillon pulled away from her and grabbed a firm hold of his cock. He ran his engorged, purple head against her wet slit. Taking his free hand, he opened up her labia, exposing her swollen clit to his lusty gaze. She heard a low rumble emanate from his throat as he steered his rod to her opening. In one smooth stroke, he thrust inside of her tight depths, moaning with pleasure.

With growing fervor, Dillon brought his body down on top of hers, kissed her passionately, and began pumping into her moist entrance slowly. She responded by raising her hips to meet his, urging him to go faster. His cock filled her to fullness, as she felt his tight balls tapping against her ass. Her body’s erotic release sat on the brink, only a few short thrusts away. “Oh God, yes!” She tensed throughout as an eruption, in dazzling undulations, convulsed through her core.

Dillon followed her, finding his own release as he groaned in blissful agony. With their bodies entwined together, they laid on the grass, catching their breath. Skye enjoyed everything about Dillon, from his confidence to his lovemaking. No man had ever made her come from intercourse alone. He felt right, the soul-shaking pull to him tremendous. Since he had his own magical secret, she found herself drawn to him even more.

“I can feel your body shaking,” he said as he broke through the silence of the night.

  “It’s getting chilly out here.”

“Can I walk you to your door?”

“What a gentleman. Of course you can.”

He stood up and held out his hand to her, helping her off the ground. He didn’t let go of her hand as they sauntered naked to her house. Stopping at the sliding doors, they held each other tight. “I hope you don’t think I do this all the time. Trust me, I don’t. This is my first encounter with someone I just met.”

“I didn’t get that impression from you at all. In fact, I hope I could see you tomorrow night.”

“I’d love to see you again.”

“Great, I’ll pick you up around seven thirty?”

  “Perfect.”

“It’s a date then. However, I promise to wear clothes next time.”

“To be honest, I didn’t mind you without clothes at all.”

They kissed one last time, happiness filling her soul. When he finally let go and backed away from her, he shape-shifted into his panther. Startling by the unexpected change, Skye watched as he ran off into the forest and instantly disappeared into the brush.

  * * * *

Nigel Price sat in his SUV, in front of a secluded house, waiting for the landlord to arrive. Less than a week ago, he’d been contacted by the Hunters syndicate, telling him to search for Simon Jenkins. Simon had only been a scout, seeking out werewolves, and would call in the Hunters when he suspected he’d spotted them. However, he hadn’t checked in with his superiors for weeks and his last known location had been Chemainus.

Nigel had been a Hunter for years, climbing the ranks quickly with great success and numerous kills. Recently, he’d been privy to the syndicate’s search for more than werewolves. Shifters were now on their list of searches and rumors of mermen floated about, too. Since arriving in town a few days ago, he’d been able to ascertain Simon’s dwelling, but no other information came to light.

The landlord pulled into the long driveway behind Nigel, and they both exited their vehicles, heading toward each other.

“You must be Nigel. I’m Tom.”

“Hi, Tom. So this is the house Simon rented from you?”

“Yes. However, I regret renting it to him. Before he moved in, the place was immaculate and now the front and back doors are broken, blown clear off their hinges with char marks on the back door, and the living room furniture has been broken, split, chipped, you name it. I don’t know what kind of parties your friend held in my house, but they didn’t seem normal. Then he blew town. The destruction of property is well over his damage deposit.”

“How much would you say he owes?”

“My contractor estimated around four thousand dollars.”

Nigel pulled out his wallet and started to count out eight thousand dollars. “This is for the damages, two months’ rent, and my damage deposit. Does this work for you?”

The landlord stared at the money Nigel offered to him, then reached into his pocket, handing him the key. “This is very fair. I’ll probably have some contractors come by to repair the doors properly for you today, if you don’t mind.”

“Yes, I think that will work. However, please call me before they arrive. I do believe you have my cell phone number.”

“I do. Thank you so much for paying your friend’s debt.”

“I’m used to cleaning up his mistakes,” he lied, “don’t worry about it.” The money had come from the syndicate, who kept a ready supply of cash for Nigel to carry so his work would remain unhampered.

The two parted company, and Nigel went to survey the property. The lot seemed to be quite a few acres surrounded by forest, a perfect place to keep prying eyes away. At least you did something right by choosing this location, Simon. His dealings with Simon were not frequent, but he didn’t trust the man. If his suspicions of the man were correct, he was already dead. However, he took his possible death as a sign creatures existed in this town. I think this place is going to give me some excitement after all.
