“What’s on your mind?”
“You. Carter. Us. Everything,” I tell him. “Thank you for taking me back.”
Jacob laughs and holds me tighter to his body. “Never thank me because I would take you back over and over again. Let’s go inside.”
“Okay.”
Jacob heads up before me and I make sure everything’s locked and the lights are off. Taking the stairs to the bedroom, I walk in and immediately stop. Jacob’s on one knee in the middle of his bedroom, holding a small black box.
“Cameron Samantha Pratt, when you came into my life I knew you were the one. Life wasn’t fair to us and I was pulled away from you. The day you came back into my life, I promised myself I’d fight for you. I promised myself I’d make you see my love. We’ve been through so much this summer and I don’t regret it. You’ve changed my world for the better. You love me unconditionally and you love my son with your whole heart. You’re the most beautiful woman and I want more. So much more. I want your smiles. I want your laughs. I want your tears. I want your crazies. I want you to carry our babies, and I want us to grow old together. I want to give you the world because you are my world. Will you do me the honor and be my wife?”
I nod. “Yes, yes! Jacob, yes I’ll marry you.” I walk over to him and get on my knees so that we’re face to face. My hands go to his face, but he takes my hand and slips the most beautiful ring on my finger. “I love you so much.”
“Say it again.”
