“It’s not that. I told you I just don’t trust that nigga. My gut tells me he ain’t right,” Quita told him.
Bay-Bay felt like that he needed to talk to her, and let her know about his mother and brother when he was a kid. He also wanted to let her know how he and Black linked up and been cool every since. While Bay told Quita his story she lay in his arms and visioned them together.
Quita was enjoying their time together. She couldn’t believe that he really wanted to be with her as much as she wanted to be with him.
Bay told her everything that happened to his family. After he finished his story they cried together. Although their lives were different they both shared pain in their lives.
“Oh my God baby. I’m so sorry for your loss.”
“Thank you, but that shit is over. I’m good now. On the real though change the subject ‘cause I don’t like to talk about it,” he said.
“Its okay baby, I understand.”
“Thanks for understanding.” .
“Shamar I know this is really not the time, but I just want to know,” She said.
“What up ma?”
“Why haven’t I heard from you in so long?”
“Aww, damn here we go again!” Bay-Bay said.
“What you mean here we go again nigga?” Quita asked him.
“Look, all I’m saying is that we’re having a good time with each other. I know you ‘bout to start lunchon! Let’s just chill slim.”
Quita sat in the middle of the bed with her arms folded.
“Don’t pout baby. You know I’m always on the move. We’ve been up in New York scoping ol’boy out for a minute, and I just wasn’t trying to break my focus,” Bay told her.
“Ok, that’s understandable, but why you never returned my calls. I know you saw my number on your phone,” Quita said.
“I’m sorry baby. Can you forgive me?”
“I guess. Oh yeah! Nigga why didn’t you tell me ya boy is married?” Qutia asked slapping his arm.
“Which one of my boys you talking ‘bout?” Bay asked playing dumb.
“Oh, come on baby you know damn well who I’m talking bout! Black that’s who,” Quita said.
“Shit, that ain’t my business to tell you ‘bout that nigga.”
“Well excuse the hell out of me! Do you have a fucking wife stashed away somewhere?”
“Nol baby, I don’t, you’re all I have,” Bay told her.
Quita smiled and gave Bay a peck on the lips. “I’m glad you said that baby ‘cause I don’t wanna fuck you or nobody else up!”
“Aww girl, you ain’t doing shit!”
“A’ight keep on thinking that!” Quita told him.
Bay-Bay sparked up anoter L to get Quita in the mood to fuck he was horny as hell.
“Come here Queen Bee,” he smiled sexily at her.
“What did you just call me?”
“I called you Queen Bee baby.”
“You so silly boy.” Quita said.
“Fo’real baby. You do remind me of Lil Kim. You all sexy and hard at the same time just like her.”
“That is my idol and she the baddest bitch in the rap game right now, so that’s a compliment. Thank you,”she told him.
“Come here girl, lemme give you this shot gun.”
Quita sat up and did what she was told. Bay cuffed his hands over her nose and mouth to make sure she got all the weed smoke he was blowing out.
Quita made sure she utilized the time away from Bay to up her dick sucking skills by watching XXX rated movies. She licked and sucked on his dick and balls so good he gave her a new name, Marvelous! Quita stepped her game up real good, and Bay was loving it.
Quita rolled over the next morning still naked and sticky from the night before. She looked at her cell for the time. It was five nineteen in the am. She looked around and she didn’t see Bay-Bay anywhere. She heard the shower going. ‘What the fuck is he doing?’ She thought. Just then the shower cut off and in walked Bay with a towel wrapped around his waist.
“Where the fuck are you going Shamar?” Quita asked.
“Black just called and we gotta make some moves,” he told her.
“Why the fuck is he calling you so fucking early in the morning?”Quita asked.
“I dunno baby. He didn’t give me no details yet, but I swear when I come back down here it’s me and you. You seriously got a nigga open and you’re that Ryde or Die type of bitch I been looking for,” Bay said.
“When are you coming back down here, or are you gonna get M.I.A on my ass again,” she said with attitude.
“No. I won’t get ghost this time I promise.” He kissed her pouted lips.
“All I ask is that you keep in touch with me. Answer your phone if I call or at least return my calls,”Quita told him.
“Calm down baby. I will be back in less than a week and that’s my word!”
“You better.” Quita said.
“Oh stop pouting. Daddy will be back soon. I love you Quita.”
“Huh?” She asked dumb founded.
“I said I love you slim,” Bay told her.
Quita was shocked and speechless at the same time.
“I love you too baby,” she told him.
She walked him to the door and he gave her the longest passionate kiss she ever received and walked away.
Quita rushed in the crib to call Kali, so she could see what the hurry was for them to leave. Before she got to the phone it started ringing.
“Hello.”Quita said.
“What up sis?”
“Nothing girl, pissed off ‘cause Bay had to leave so damn early,” Quita said.
“I feel ya I was mad at Black too, but oh well.” Kali said.
“What happened? Did Black tell you what’s going on?”
“Not exactly, but he said something about Sousa found out who hit his spot and they torched and killed Mookie for information.”
“Oh my God! Are you serious Kali?”
“Yes girl, that’s why they got up and bounced so early,” Kali said.
“I wonder if Mookie told them anything.”
“I dunno Quita, but if he did we need to leave and move to Richmond with Aunt Lilly and Uncle Pete.”
“Oh shit Kali I’m a little scared. What are we gonna do?” Quita asked.
“It ain’t shit we can do right now, but wait. Just pack up a few things just in case,” Kali told her.
“At least we got a little stash money just in case we do need to jet,” Quita said.
“I know, but Quita I’m going back to bed. I will think about this shit later ‘cause I’m sleepy as fuck.”
“A’ight Kali. I love you.”
“I love you too Quita.” They hung up in unison.
Quita just lay back in the bed and thought of all the dirt they had done and wondered if their number was up.
Chapter 20
Quita had been waiting by the phone for two weeks and there was still no call from Bay-Bay. She was starting to feel really stupid for putting her guard down once again for a no good ass nigga. She tried calling his phone, but it was pointless. After a while Quita figured that he was either dead or locked up because his celly was turned off. Quita had no way to contact him, because Black wasn’t answering his phone either.
Quita prayed day in and day out that he would call to tell her everything was good. She had just laid all of her feelings on the table and Bay-Bay took advantage of her and stepped on her heart.
Quita pulled herself out of the bed to shower and to do some cleaning. It was Saturday and she had nothing else to do. After she showered, she turned on some music and cleaned up her crib.
When she was finished she looked around and was satisfied. Well, at least she got something out the deal
Quita flopped down on the couch and called Kali to see if she had heard from Black. Kali must have been sleep because Quita had to call her three times before she finally picked up the phone.
“Hello,” Kali said.

p; “Hey, what’s up sissy?” Quita sang into the phone.
“Hey, girl what you been up to?” Kali asked her.
“Nothing really. I just finished cleaning the crib. Still waiting for Shamar’s ass to call me. I feel so fucking played. I put my feelings on the line, and I got hurt again,” Quita said.
“Don’t feel played lil’ sis that’s the way it is. Niggas lie. They will tell you what you wanna hear to get what they want. Shit, how you think I felt when I findin’ out that Black’s ass married. I wasn’t gonna tell you but I’m like eight weeks pregnant and I don’t know what to do,” Kali confessed tearfully.
“On the real? You need to get rid of it ‘cause you already got Naja. I know we got a little savings, but you can’t raise two little ones by yourself.,” Quita told her.
“I know Quita, but I really don’t want to get an abortion. It might keep me from having kids in the future,” Kali said.
“Well have you at least tried to call Black to let him know what’s going on?” Quita asked her.
“Yeah I’ve been calling his ass for days but it’s no use. He never answers the phone and I know he’s getting my messages. It’s all good ‘cause I’m gonna call his fucking wife and tell her! I bet he’ll call me back after I tell her ass,” Kali spat.
“I know you’re pissed Kali, but I don’t think you should call his wife,” Quita told her.
“Why the fuck not?” Kali asked heated.
“Not trying to be funny, but that muthafucka would beat your ass for dumb shit. Don’t you think if you call his wife talking ‘bout you’re pregnant he would fuck you up?” Quita asked.
“Honestly Quita, the way I’m feeling right now, I don’t give a fuck! He better hope I don’t beat his muthafucking ass!”
Quita was on the other end dying laughing at her sister.“Kali you crazy as hell you know that right?”
“Anyway, have you talked to Lexi?” Kali asked changing the subject.
“Yeah, she called me last night talking ‘bout that J-Roc and Jade shit again.”
“Word, what’s going on with that crazy love triangle?” Kali asked.
“Girl she said that Jade got arrested for vandalism and the whole nine,” Quita said.
“Wow! That’s fucked up Lexi crazy as hell. I can’t blame her though,” Kali said.
“Me neither, but now she said J-Roc been talking ‘bout getting married and having kids and shit,” Quita told her laughing.
“Get the fuck outta here Quita. I hope she don’t feed into that bullshit!”
“Why not Kali? Maybe he really does love her.” Quita asked.
“Cause like I told you niggas ain’t shit and he just gassin’ her head up,” Kali said.
“Well maybe so, but that ain’t my call. She is old enough to look out for herself, and make her own mistakes I got my own shit going on ,so I can’t play babysitter to her and J-Roc’s ass,”Quita told her.
”Have you talked to Jade?” Kali asked.
“No girl, she won’t answer the phone for me. I guess she’s mad or embarrassed,” Quita told her.
“What she embarrassed for? She the one who called his phone talking shit to his girl like she was Billy bas ass!” Kali said.
“Hell, I don’t know. I just know she ain’t returned my calls, so she must be in her own little world. I don’t give a fuck! Fuck her! She ain’t ever gotta call me back,” Quita spat. Quita suddenly heard a beep on her line.
“Hold on Kali somebody beepin’ in,” Quita said before clicking over.
“Hello, Hello,” she said. There was a pause on the line.
“Hello you have a collect call from… Sharmar…will you accept the charges? To accept the call press five, or to decline this call and future calls from this person, press nine.” The automated system said. Quita pressed five to accept the charges.
“Hello,” Quita said wondering why he’d called her collect.
“Hey baby. What you doing?” Bay-Bay asked her.
“I’m fine besides missing you. Baby what happened? Why are you locked up?” Quita asked.
“Some dumb ass failure to appear on an old assault charge. I gotta spend a mandatory thirty days in here before they will release me,” he expained.
“Are you straight though baby? Do you need me to send you some money?” Qutia asked him.
“Yeah that sounds good. Good looking baby,” He told her.
“Stop playing nigga, you know I got you. Bay, what happened to Mookie?”
“Ain’t shit happen to that nigga, he good not unless you know something I don’t know?” Bay said.
“That morning y’all bounced Kali said that Black told her that Papa Smurf was trippin’ and they did Mookie in trying to get information,” Quita told him.
“Nah ma, he a’ight. We left ‘cause that nigga’s wife tried to kill herself by drinking some bleach,” he said.
“Oh my God. Are you serious?” Quita gasped.
“Yeah baby, I’m dead ass serious. Mookie just sent me a kite yesterday and confirmed y’all suspisions ‘bout B. Come to find out what I told you bout my moms and ‘lil brother, that sorry ass nigga did it.” Bay-Bay told her.
Quita just sat there paralyzed for a moment. She couldn’t believe her ears.
“Oh shit, baby are you fo’ real?” Quita asked.
“Yeah baby, and him and that nigga Sousa cool too. I mean I knew they had a business thing going on back in the day, but I had no fucking idea that Sousa is that nigga’s brother in law. I’m starting to think the whole thing was a fuckin’ setup,” Bay told her.
Quita’s heart dropped.
“What? Bay you can’t be for real baby,” Quita said.
“Yeah, so you and ya girls need to be careful. Sousa knew about the whole shit. He gave Black the okay to hit that shit,” Bay-Bay told her.
“Baby I don’t know what to do. I’m scared.”Quita admitted.
“Just sit back and keep a close eye on your surroundings,” he advised her.
“This shit is crazy. Why did Black and Sousa do that shit?”
“Something ‘bout Sousa’s Cuban connect fuckin’ him over. Look baby, we can’t say too much over this phone ‘cause they be recording shit. I’ll be out in a couple of weeks hopefully sooner, so get with ya girls and let ‘em know what’s going on. I love you Quita.”
“I love you too Bay,” she said teary eyed.
“Yo baby, write this address down so you can send me a kite, and that dough.”
Quita grabbed a pen and took down the address.
“This phone ‘bout to hang up, so I’ll try to call you later. If I don’t I will tom…..”The phone went dead before Bay could finish talking.
Quita just sat on the couch trying to figure out what the fuck she and her girls were going to do about Black’s snake ass. She knew she was going to have to approach the situation slow when telling Kali what was really going on. Quita knew that Kali could be a little bit extra sometimes.
Quita lit up a cigarette and called Kali back. Kali picked up on the first ring.
