Indestructible Desire

  Clue #1: I’m small and round and love to be filled with money when I hear you say a dirty word.

  Setting the note down, I look around our sweet for my first present. I can’t help get become more, and more excited as I run around the suite looking for my present. Finally after checking every room, I find a small glass jar with another note. I can’t help but laugh at the wording painted on the hot pink glass jar. Picking it up, I read the words, Savannah’s Swear Jar.

  This present has to symbolize our first time meeting, when I swore as soon as he entered Eloise’s office. I can’t stop smiling as I think back to that afternoon. Crazy to think how far we’ve come since that day.

  Picking up my next note, I scan over it for my next clue.

  Well, looks like you successfully found your first present. I hope you love your new swear jar I had custom made for you. Who knew that gorgeous blonde I met in the Envy building, had a sailors mouth ;)

  Clue #2: I’m in a room people like to go to when they’re looking for a good time. You’ll find me hanging out with my friends Jack & Daniel’s.

  I immediately think of the bar downstairs! It has to either be the one inside, or the one out by the pool. Not wasting any time, I shove my clues into my purse and make my way down stairs. Walking into the bar, it’s packed with hotel guests. Walking up to the bar, I gaze at the bottles of whiskey on the wall, but see nothing.

  Walking outside, I head over to the poolside bar. I spot Brooklyn and Rebecca hanging out in the hot tub with a group of people. Giving them a wave and a small smile, I make my way over to the tiki style bar. As soon as I step up to the bar, I spot another clue with a mini gift bag beside it. Waving the bartender over, I open my mouth to ask him for the note but he beats me to it.

  “Savannah? I assume?” He asks me grabbing the gift bag and note and handing them to me.

  Smiling, I take the note and gift bag and take a seat at the bar to open my present, and read the next clue. Opening the bag, I see a mini bottle of Jack Daniels in it. It has a small receipt attached to it on how to make Whiskey Sours. Sliding the gift bag into my purse, I open my next clue from Kayden.

  I won’t ever forget our first night together. After seeing you dance on my bar, and take shots of Whiskey like a champ. I new I had to be able to call you mine Savannah. I could never forget your favorite drink, the whiskey sour that you were drinking that night in the VIP Section.

  Now for the third clue to your third present.

  Clue #3: I’m red and juicy. Some love to have me on their cake, others like me in their champagne. But you love me dipped in chocolate. You’ll find me in the hotel restaurant, hanging out in the Chef’s kitchen.

  Walking into the hotel’s five star restaurant I’m a bundle of nerves. Stepping up to the doors that lead into the kitchen, I’m afraid to walk through. I know Kayden owns the hotel, and everyone knows who I am. But I can’t help but feel like I’m breaking a rule walking in there. I decide to pop the door open and knock on it. The kitchen is full of people prepping for my party tonight.

  Kayden is closing off an entire section out by the pool for us to have dinner and cake. I’m glad we’re keeping it low key; with only close friends and family. Peeking my head through the door, I swallow hard trying to moisten my now dry mouth. All eyes are on me and I’m suddenly feeling very exposed in my bathing suit and small sun dress.

  “Excuse me…I’m soooo sorry to interrupt you, I can only imagine how busy ya’ll are. But I wouldn’t happen to have a present in here from Mr. Knox would I?”

  The head chef, greats me with a warm smile, calming the butterflies swarming like angry bee’s in the pit of my stomach. “Yes ma’am, we have your items Mr. Knox left for you. He told me to deliver them to you once you arrived.” Turning away from me momentarily, he opens the giant steel refrigerator behind him. Taking out a white 5x5 box wrapped in a pink bow, he walks over towards me, and hands me it.

  “Here it is, enjoy Miss. Savannah.” With a polite nod of the head, he turns and gets back to work.

  “Thank you!” Waving goodbye, I make my way over to one of the dining tables. There’s a note hidden under the pink bow, I pull it out, setting it on the table beside the box. Opening the box, I can’t help but grin ear to ear. Inside is an assortment of chocolate covered strawberries. We have so many amazing memories with these, from our first night at his penthouse suite, to our first evening at his house in Sugarland.

  I can’t wait to make many more delicious memories with Kayden. Pinching the note between my fingers I wave it in front of me, as I savor the delicious taste of the strawberry dancing across my tongue. I decide to snap a picture biting into the strawberry and send Kayden a quick text.

  Me:

  Enjoying my very yummy strawberry. I’m having a blast with this scavenger hunt!

  It wasn’t three seconds, and I was getting a text back from Kayden. I can’t stop smiling, today is definitely the best birthday ever. I love that Kayden is giving me tiny reminders of our special moments together.

  Kayden:

  Save some for later, baby! I’m looking forward to feeding them 2 u 2night. Now stop snack, & get huntin’ darlin’ I ain’t waitin’ all day!

  Letting a small giggle escape my lips, and making the waiting staff state at me like I’ve lost my marbles, I open my next clue.

  Hope you’re enjoying your strawberries baby, I can’t wait to make more memorable moments with you…and of course chocolate covered strawberries. Are you ready for your fourth clue?

  Clue #4: I’m white, and love to be worn. You’ll find me in the hotel gift shop. I’ll be waiting for you with the lady at the cash register. Hurry! The clock is ticking!

  Running across the hotel, I burst into the gift shop. I spot a teenager reading a gossip magazine, behind the counter. “Excuse me, my boyfriend left me a package here. He said that you’d have it for me.” Leaning against the counter, I rock back and forth on my heels waiting for my next surprise.

  “Oh yeah, it’s right here.” Leaning under the country she pulls out a bag with the gift shops logo on it.

  “Thanks!” Taking the bag, I head out to the benches in the corridor. Digging through the tissue paper, I pull out a white tank top. It say’s “Kayden’s Angel” with Wings on the back. A smile tear escapes my eye as I stuff the top back into the bag. I love it, and love the fact that Kayden see’s me as his angel. I can’t help but think back to our night together at my beach house, when he sang Cowboys and Angels to me by Dustin Lynch. He’s my cowboy, and I’m his angel. Forever.

  Opening up the next clue, I scan my eyes over it, I love this game! I can’t wait to finally find Kayden, so I can wrap my arms around him and tell him how amazing he’s made today.

  Hope you love your new tank top my Angel. Now the world will know you’re my Angel on earth, when they see you wearing it.

  Clue #5: Your next surprise, you’ll find upstairs in our bedroom. It’s silver, and shiny. When you use it just right, it’ll get your engine goin’.

  Oh my god, if he got me a vibrator I’m going to kill him. By the time he’s done buying me toys, we’ll be able to open up our adult store for goodness sake!

  Chapter Twenty One

  ***

  The ride up the elevator feels like it’s taking forever! I just keep watching the numbers light up one by one, as we slowly creep our way up to the top floor. Of course I get on the elevator that is bursting at the seams with people, all getting off on different floors!

  Finally reaching the penthouse suite, I jog up the stairs and bust through the bedroom door. I have so much adrenalin coursing through my veins from this little treasure hunt. As soon as I enter our bedroom, I find a tiny square box sitting on our bed, surrounded by rose petals. Our bedroom is filled to the brim with bouquets of tropical flowers. The pinks, purples, yellows and oranges are absolutely breathtaking. The giant palm leaves are t
he perfect touch.

  Sitting on the bed, I pull the top off of the small gift box, and find a set of keys, with a Silver S keychain attached to them. Inside is a picture of Kayden sitting inside a dark metallic purple custom painted 2014 Maserati GT sport convertible. It has to be the hottest car I’ve ever seen, and I know they ain’t cheap! Nibbling on my thumb nail, I stare down at the photo. Kayden looks hot behind the wheel of this car, and I can’t help but want to do all kinds of naughty things on the hood of it.

  Laying back on the bed, I flip the next note open.

  Hope you love your new car. As soon as I saw it, I new it was perfect for you. It’s hot, fast, and hard to tame. I know you love pink, but baby no way can I drive around with you in a pink car. So I hope you like the metallic purple. It’s sparkly and girly just what you like, but not so girly that it looks like a teeny bopper should be behind the wheel!

  I can’t wait to break it in when we get back to Texas ;)

  Clue #6: I’ll make this one easy, it’s hanging in the closet…put it on and head down to the beach. You’ll find a man waiting for you down by the shore. He’ll give you the final note, telling you where to find me.

  Putting my new car keys into my purse, I head over to the closet. My entire body is shaking right now, I can’t help but feel that Kayden has something huge planned for me when I find him. Pulling the closet door open, I find a new pair of brown cowgirl boots with pink rose detailing on them. They’re gorgeous! Hanging in the closet above them, is a white garment bag. Taking it out of the closet, I lay it on the bed and unzip the bag.

  Inside is a baby pink strapless cotton dress, with a large brown belt. I quickly get dressed, slide my feet into my new boots, and fix my hair. Pulling it high up in a curly ponytail. I decide on a pink flower headband and feather earrings. Opting to leave my purse in our room, I head down to the beach for my final clue!

  Walking towards the water, I spot a man standing by a horse holding a folded piece of paper in his hand. I can’t control the excitement bursting out of me and speed walk the rest of the way. My heart is pounding so hard in my chest; I swear anyone who stands near me can hear it!

  Waving I yell to the man, trying to speak over the sound of the waves crashing onto the shore, and the sound of beach goers all around us. “Hi, are you waiting for me?” I ask shyly.

  “Are you Savannah Livingston?” He asks eyeing me curiously.

  “Yup, the one and only!” God I sound so stupid, I laugh to myself. This is beyond awkward.

  “You have photo I.D.?”

  Shit! I didn’t bring my purse. Does he actually think I’m lying to him? “Umm, sorry I don’t have any I.D. on me. I can run back up to my hotel room and grab my purse.” I can’t stop fidgeting from foot to foot. This is embarrassing.

  Letting out a laugh, the man hands me the paper. “I’m just yanking your chain ma’am. Here ya go, Mr. Knox said to give this to you, and the horse.”

  Letting out the breath I’d been holding, I gladly except the paper, and take the horse’s reigns from him. Speed reading, because I’m running out of patients I quickly read the note. I’m ready to get my man!

  You’re almost to the finish line darlin’! I can’t wait to see you in tonight in those sexy new boots…and nothing else. Before I get myself all worked up, here’s your last clue!

  Clue #7: Ride the horse I rented for you about a mile down the beach. Once you get to the designated area, you’ll find me waiting for you. Hurry, we don’t want to miss the sunset baby.

  Stuffing the note inside my boot, I climb up onto the horse. I’m so nervous, my palms are sweating, and my stomach’s doing flip flops. Gripping the reigns I click my heels into the horse’s sides and click my tongue signaling for her to go. Trotting along the beach, feeling the mist of the water spraying up off of the shore onto my skin feels fantastic right now.

  Every step closer I get to Kayden, the more nervous I’m becoming. People are lying on the beach, or swimming in the water, watching me as I ride along the shore. The closer I get to where Kayden says he’ll be, the is becoming almost deserted.

  My heart skips a beat when I spot Kayden off in the distance. He looks to handsome for words, in dark cargo shorts, and a white salmon as he calls it, polo shirt. I think a real man can wear pink and pull it off. I think it’s sweet, because our outfits color coordinate. There are rose petals scattered all over the sand where he’s standing.

  The sun is beginning to set, and the sky is breathtaking with its painted colors of pinks, reds, and oranges. Coming to a stop a few feet in front of him, I climb off of the horse and hook it to drift wood lying on the beach. Each step I take towards Kayden feels like a million years to complete.

  Walking towards Kayden, I give him a nervous smile. He looks just as nervous as I feel right now. Stopping in front of him, I lean up onto my tippy toes and plant a sweet delicious kiss on his lips. Pulling away, I take his hands into mine, “Thank you for this Kayden, this has been the most amazin’ birthday, and so much fun.”

  Letting out a nervous laugh, Kayden smiles down at me with his panty droppin’ smile. It was that smile I saw the first day I met him, and I swear I’ve been his ever since that moment. Even though Logan was my boyfriend, I new Kayden was something special. The way my heart flutters when he looks at me. It’s a feeling no other man has ever made me feel better.

  Gazing at my right hand, Kayden plays with my infinity band for a moment. Then focuses his attention back onto me. “When I gave ya’ this ring Savannah, it was a symbol of my love for you. That day I promised that my love for you infinite, forever. There’s no one else I’d rather grow old with baby than you.”

  Oh. My. God! I can’t stop screaming those words over and over in my head. Is this seriously happening right now? Please pinch me…reassure me that I am in fact not dreaming right now!

  Reaching into his pocket Kayden pulls a small glass bottle, sealed with a cork. Inside is a note rolled up, handing it to me, he asks me to open my final clue.

  With trembling fingers I pop the cork off of the bottle, and let it drop to my feet. Tipping the bottle, the note pours out into the palm of my hand. “What is this Kayden?” I can’t hand the nervousness in my voice, as I roll the paper open, and eye Kayden while doing so.

  “Open it and you’ll see. I hope you liked your other birthday presents Savannah, but I really am hoping that you’ll love your final gift.

  Unrolling the paper, I take in the sounds around me. The seagulls singing above us, the waves crashing against the rocks beside us, and the sound of the warm tropical breeze blowing through the palm trees behind us. Looking at the paper, I have to re read it to let the words written sink in.

  My sweet Savannah,

  I never in a million years would’ve believed the day I met you, that I’d be meeting my soul mate. I use to laugh at people who talked about love at first site. But after the gorgeous September day, when my eyes connected with yours. I new that it was possible, to love someone with your entire heart the moment you met them.

  Today for your 25th birthday, I want to not only celebrate a fresh new year for you, but the start of forever for you and me. I want to watch you walk down the isle, and be able to make you not just my best friend…but my wife.

  With tears streaming down my cheeks, I drop the letter and look into Kayden’s amazing green eyes. So full of love for me, I don’t understand how I ever got so lucky to have him love me so unconditionally.

  Taking my right hand in his, Kayden drops down onto one knee in front of me. I immediately suck in a sharp breath, as I try to grasp the fact that this is actually happening. My dream proposal, by my dream guy is happening right now, on the beach in Maui.

  “Savannah Elizabeth Livingston. I love you with every fiber of my being. A life without you in it is just not possible. I need your love just as much if not more than I need air to breath. You’re my soul mate…my other half, the missing piece to my crazy puzzle. I want to grow old with you, spend our evening’s si
tting on our porch sippin’ on sweet tea outta mason jars.

  I want to have tons of little blue eyed, and blonde haired mini Savannah running around Sugarland. And maybe a few green eyed and brown haired rough and tough boys tackling each other in the field beside the barn. I want to experience every crazy, intense, blissfully happy moment with you. The good, the bad, and the ugly. I’ll live everyday the happiest man in the world as long as it’s with you by my side. So baby, will you marry me? Make me the luckiest man on the entire freakin’ planet, and say yes to becoming my wife?!”

  Blinking through the tears that are falling from my eyes, I fall to my knees, and wrap Kayden in my arms. “Of course Kayden! I want that…all of that! You and me forever Knox. You and I until the end of time. I’d love nothing more then to become you’re wife.” I can’t contain my joy and excitement exploding out of me. I flutter kisses all over his face, finally stopping at his lips. Where he kisses me so deeply, that I felt as if I was floating above our bodies. Watching blissfully at Kayden and I entwined in each others arms, kissing with such passion, it was as if we needed each others lips in order to survive.
