“Really?” She eyed him suspiciously. “I’m surprised they can get away with that kind of article unless it was true.”

“Do you even want to look at the place?” Keith felt like shoving her out. He was not enjoying this semi-public accusation.

“Oh. I want it. I need a place and the price and location are right.”

“Great. I’ll let Patty know.” Keith wanted her to leave.

  “When can I move in?”

  “Immediately.”

“Wow, you and Carl must be hot to trot!”

Grinding his jaw, Keith reiterated, “We are not hot to trot and I am not moving in with him.”

“You better check out the paper. They really made it sound serious between you.”

“That’s publicity, Karen. When you finally get an acting job, you’ll understand.” He led her to the door.

“I suppose. Don’t worry about it though, Keith. Everyone out there supports you two as a couple.”

Rubbing his face in frustration, Keith replied, “It’s acting. Hello? We act like we’re lovers, Karen. There is a difference.”

“Sure, Keith. I get it. Okay, I’ll start packing and move in as soon as I can. Should I meet Patty first?”

Keith found a pen and paper. “This is her mobile phone number. Give her a call.”

“I will. Nice meeting you. Love the show!”

Trying to wave and smile as she left, Keith was so angry he could punch a wall.

After he got the okay from Patty Keith felt relieved. A day later he and Carl began shifting his things out of the apartment.

Filling a box with his books, Keith didn’t own any of the furniture so it wasn’t too difficult to get his belongings together. After two trips to Carl’s condo, he had pretty much cleared out the apartment of his possessions.

Patty stood by silently as Keith finished filling the last box. “It’s really weird that you and Carl are going to be living together.”

  “Why?”

“I don’t know. Don’t you think people will get the wrong idea?”

“They already have the wrong idea.” Keith folded the flaps in and sealed the carton. “Just ask your new roomie.”

“Oh? Does she think the same thing as the rest of the world?” Patty sneered.

“Stop acting like a jerk. You know damn well we’re both straight.”

“Sure, Keith. Keep that story and stick to it.” She laughed sarcastically.

Standing up to confront her, Keith asked, “What the hell’s with the attitude? Sour grapes again, Patty? Come on. Lay off.”

As they argued, Carl poked his head in the room. “Is that the last box?”

  “Yes.”

  “Great.”

Keith stood tall, stretching his aching back. “That’s it. I’m out of here now.”

“I bet you two can’t wait to shack up for real.”

“Patty!” Keith caught Carl’s anxiety at her accusation.

“Well? You could at least admit it to me, Keith.” Patty crossed her arms over her chest.

“Let’s go, Carl.” Keith nudged him, picking up a suitcase.

Carl lifted the box and headed to the doorway.

“Bye, Carl!” Patty waved, a smirk to her expression. “I’m glad we finally got to meet. Good luck living with your new beau.”

  “Shut up!” Keith snarled.

“What the hell’s your problem?” Carl shouted at her.

“Just go. Ignore her.” Keith urged Carl out into the hall.

“Bye bye, boys.” She stood in the doorway, waving.

Keith bit his lip on his fury and descended the stairs behind Carl.

Once they had loaded the two items into the trunk of the Subaru, Carl climbed into the passenger seat as Keith sat behind the wheel.

“What the hell was that all about?” Carl asked as he belted in.

“I have no idea. I got the same shit from her new roommate, Karen. It sucks.” Keith started the car and held Carl’s hand.

“What do you mean, from Karen? What the hell did she say?”

“She said she read in the Inspirer that we were going to live together.”

“She did? How could they know that?”

“I don’t know. Just do what Adam said. Keep denying it.”

“Jesus. We haven’t even finished moving your things and it’s already starting.”

“Forget it. I have,” Keith lied.

“We need to pick up that newspaper.” Carl stared out of the window.

“No. We need to pretend it doesn’t exist.”

  “Yeah, right.”

Keith changed the subject. “I’m a sweaty mess. I can’t wait to shower.”

“Me too. Moving in the summer is painful. Did you tell your parents yet?”

  “No.” Keith sighed.

“When are you intending on telling them?”

“They have my cell phone number. That’s enough.”

  “Oh, Keith.”

“I’m not doing it. I don’t need any more grief.” Keith tried to relax.

“You have your interview this weekend as well. It’s all happening at the same time.”

“I know.” Keith felt his stomach flip.

  “Just keep fucking denying it.”

  “I will.”

  “Sucks but it’s reality.”

“Hey, you don’t think I know that? I got that advice from Adam Lewis himself. He knows, believe me.”

“He does. Remember that horrible shooting he was involved in? When Jack Turner killed himself?”

“I do. That fucker was vile.”

  “What’s Adam like?”

“He’s awesome. Nothing like Turner was.”

“I hope not. If he ever asks to suck your cock I’ll shoot him!”

“I do have to let Adam know I’m moving.”

“Yes. When we get to my place, call him.”

  “I will. Remind me.”

  ~

After a shower and a bite to eat, Keith used his mobile phone to call his agent.

“Adam Lewis, can I help you?”

  “Adam, it’s Keith.”

“Hiya, Keith. You excited about your first talk show appearance?”

“Yes. Nervous, actually. But I’ve moved and I wanted to give you the new address.”

  “Oh. Hang on…go ahead.”

Keith rattled it off. After he did he said, “I’m living with Carl.”

  “Oh?”

  “Yes. Bad idea?”

“Look, Keith, you have to follow your heart.”

“I do. I’m just anxious about it. I heard the rags already got wind of it somehow.”

  “Deny, deny, deny!” Adam laughed.

“Yes. I remembered that advice, believe me. I will.” Keith looked back at Carl who was staring at him.

“Okay, Keith. Just be cool and don’t worry about it.”

“I’ll try, Adam. I feel confident we’ll be okay. There’s no law about being friends.”

“No. There isn’t. And as long as you stick to your guns about it, you’ll be fine. The tabloids don’t really violate anyone. They just spout crap and speculate.”

“True. That’s what Carl has said.”

“Well,” Adam laughed, “now when Jack and I watch your love scenes it’ll have a whole new meaning.”

“I know,” Keith agreed. “We have to hold back our mouths and cocks.” He winked at Carl who chuckled.

“I can imagine. Just don’t worry about it, Keith. The two of you are so appealing and talented, you’ll be fine.”

“Thank you, Adam. I mean that.”

“You just call if you need a pep talk.”

“I will. See ya.” Keith hung up, smiling at Carl. “He makes it seem so easy.”

  “He’s a good man.”

Keith approached Carl and knelt on the floor in front of him. “I’m here. Living with you.”

  “You are.”

  “Full time.”

  “Indeed.

Keith opened Carl’s shorts. “I need a blowjob rehearsal.”

“Blowjob scene! Take one!” Carl revealed his hard-on from his shorts. “Action!”

Keith leaned on Carl’s legs and gripped his length, opening his mouth for him. It was just like the script, it became easier with practice.

Sucking him deeply, Keith enjoyed his clean, fresh from the shower, taste, just as much as his sweat.

“Oh, yes…you really have improved, lover.”

“Mm,” Keith hummed, lapping at him hungrily.

As Carl moaned in delirium, Keith savored it, knowing he needed to appreciate the things he had in life, for they could be fleeting.

Feeling Carl rise with the pleasure, Keith couldn’t wait to taste his come.

“That’s it, babe.” Carl held onto Keith for balance.

Closing his eyes and sucking to the root, Keith began stroking Carl’s balls, feeling them tighten before the climax. Exploring Carl’s ass, putting enough pressure on his magic spot, Keith knew Carl was very close.

His fingers tightening their grip on Keith’s shoulders, Carl grunted in pleasure and thrust his cock deeper into Keith’s mouth. Keith felt his come slide down his throat and moaned in delight, not wanting to stop sucking him.

Drawing on it, milking it with his hand, Keith savored every drop. Finally releasing it from his mouth, Keith looked up at Carl’s face. He was recuperating, his eyes closed, his body limp. “Nice.”

Carl opened his eyes slowly and let out a soft laugh. “Oh, God. You are amazing.”

When Carl dropped to his knees, Keith wrapped around him, kissing him. “I love you so much.”

  “Me too, Keith, me too.”
