  A NOTE ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Robert T. Bakker started his heretical dinosaur stud-

ies as a Yale undergraduate in the 1960s and contin-

ued at Harvard Graduate School where he was elected

to the elite Society of Fellows. He has taught every

level from kindergarten to advanced graduate semi-

nars and tells the story of the dinosaur revolution in

a lively style without scientific jargon. A skilled art-

ist, Professor Bakker illustrated the book with his

own reconstruction of dinosaurs alive and in action.

He is adjunct curator at the University Museum, the

University of Colorado. His wife and co-excavator of

bones and ideas, Constance Clark, edits books on

African history and South America for the Westview

  Press in Boulder.
