DEATH OF THE UNIVERSE: BOOK TWO OF THE REALM OF ZERROS SAGA Page 4

“A group did escape but were eventually caught by the knights and their vessel was destroyed, and we haven’t heard anything since then. If there was any hope or sign of life in Las Vegas, I would have gone with you there myself but we must make it back to Alaska before another batch of knights find us,” Jenna replied.

“Can I have a small airmobile? That’s all I ask; I would rather die trying to find them than to live and not trying at all,” Dean said.

“You are more than welcome to have one, and I will give you whatever weapons you need. You said you’re from Denver right? I have a good friend from Denver, and she’s on the vessel, you should meet her,” Jenna said to Dean, unknown to him that the friend that she was referring to was Sarah.

“Thank you very much, but I don’t have time for that, if we can have the items you said that you would give us that would be great as I really need to get to Las Vegas as fast as I can to find my children,” Dean replied, grateful for Jenna’s help, yet at the same time he was in a rush to leave to find Jonah and Ava.

“Don’t go Dean, they are not in Las Vegas, please let’s just go to Alaska,” John said to him.

“No John, I’m sorry, but I have to go and find them,” Dean replied.

“Then I’m coming with you even though everything in me tells me to go to Alaska,” John told him.

“We’re coming with you as well,” Bismarck said, referring to him and his lone knight.

“No I can’t ask you to do this, there’s nothing left in this world, and I just want to see them, I want nothing more in life right now than to see my children,” Dean said.

Jenna then commanded a few of the superhumans to get an airmobile as well as weapons and supplies for the group and they ran off to get them.

“You’re a brave man Dean,” Jenna remarked.

“No, I’m not brave, I’m just desperate,” Dean said to her.

“I wish you all the best,” Jenna then said to him and she then commanded everyone else to board the vessel to begin their trek to the somewhat safer pastures of Alaska – the home of the superhumans.

Jenna and the superhumans then began boarding the massive aircraft as Dean, John, Bismarck and the lone rogue knight packed their weapons and supplies onto their airmobile to begin their unlikely journey of finding Jonah and Ava.

Then as Jenna entered the vessel, she was met by Sarah, “What was the holdup?” Sarah asked.

“Oh nothing, just a few people didn’t want to come with us to Alaska, so I gave them an airmobile as well as some supplies and weapons for their trip to Las Vegas,” Jenna answered.

“Oh okay, I thought something was wrong,” Sarah remarked as they continued walking.

As the last of the superhumans entered the aircraft, they pushed the buttons which closed the door and it slowly closed as Jenna looked through one of the windows at Dean, John, Bismarck and the knight.

“I hope he finds his children in Las Vegas,” Jenna said.

“Las Vegas? Didn’t you tell him the city is no more?” Sarah asked.

“I did but he was very persistent, and I understand why. He’s looking for his children, and he’s going there to find them, he seems like a very nice man,” Jenna said.

“I hope that he finds them,” Sarah said.

“I told him to come and meet you as he said that he was from Denver, so I thought that perhaps you might have known each other,” Jenna said.

“Denver’s a big city Jenna, do you know if he was from the church? Do you know his name?” Sarah asked.

“No I didn’t ask if he was from the church, but I should have. I think he said his name was Dan, or was it Don; it was something along those lines,” Jenna said as she walked away.

As the massive door of the aircraft was almost finished closing, Jenna said, “But I do remember the names of his children because they sort of rhyme; Jonah and Ava, very nice names.”

As soon as Sarah heard the names Jonah and Ava her body had a slight shiver and without hesitation, she ran to the controls for the door and stopped it from closing, she then hit another button and the door began to open.

“What are you doing Sarah?” Jenna asked in a surprised tone, baffled at Sarah’s strange behavior.

“Was his name Dean?” Sarah asked.

“Yes, that’s it, Dean. Do you know him?” Jenna asked.

“Yes, yes I do,” Sarah quickly said as she waited for the door to open and once it was ever so slightly opened Sarah ran towards it and jumped off the vessel landing hard on the ground below.

In a state of confusion Jenna called out to a few superhumans that were close by and they all jumped off the ship and began following Sarah as she scampered towards Dean and his friends.

“Stop! Stop! Dean, it’s me Sarah from the church in Denver,” Sarah screamed as she ran towards them but they were unable to hear her as their backs were towards her and their airmobile was heading away from her.

Sarah then suddenly stopped, and using her superhuman abilities she focused on their airmobile and it suddenly stopped in mid–flight and she lowered it gently to the ground and at the same time turning it in her direction so that they could see her.

As her head throbbed in pain from using her abilities she looked at Dean as those in the airmobile stared at her unsure of what to make of the abnormal situation. She then started running towards them waving her hands, and as she got closer, Dean then realized who she was and he exited the airmobile and made his way to her curious as to why she stopped their airmobile.

“I know you,” he said to her.

“Yes, I remember you from the church, where are Jonah and Ava? I have to find them, especially Jonah,” Sarah said.

“I don’t know where they are, I’m looking for them as well and I am headed to Las Vegas to find them,” Dean replied.

At the same time, John, Bismarck and the knight exited the airmobile and Sarah was surprised to see that John was with Dean.

“John, I can’t believe it, what are you doing here?” Sarah asked as she was in utter shock to see John and Dean together, miles away from Denver.

“I’m helping him find his children Sarah,” John said to her.

As the conversation continued, Jenna and a few superhumans, along with Stryker made their way to Dean and Sarah.

“Does someone mind telling me what this is all about?” Jenna asked.

“We have to help him find his children Jenna, his son is the key to this battle, we have no choice,” Sarah said.

“What are you talking about Sarah? One person won’t tilt the odds in our favor,” Jenna said.

“Trust me Jenna, please trust me, I believe in his son with everything in me,” Sarah said.

“What would you like me to do Sarah?” Jenna asked.

“Go wherever he wants to go and help him find his children,” Sarah said.

“You know I can’t risk the many lives in that vessel by going to Las Vegas Sarah, we have to head back to Alaska,” Jenna said.

“If we don’t find his children then the battle is already lost,” Sarah said.

“Look, they are my children and I’m going to find them, please just let me be,” Dean said, forgetting his earlier conversation about John’s dream of Luanne as the reality of this life and finding his children was engulfing his mind, and keeping him away from the ultimate goal which was destroying those that wished to destroy the human race.

In the pandemonium of the situation, John looked at everyone giving their opinion about who should go where and then shouted, “She came to me in my dream, and she said they are coming to destroy us all, she told me to protect Ava, and that Jonah will be able to protect himself. The end is near and we have to find them before that time comes,” John said as everyone stopped and looked at him.

“Shut up John, please, that was between me and you, everybody doesn’t need to know,” Dean said.

“Your kids aren’t in Las Vegas Dean, I don’t know where they are but they aren’t there, we have to go with
them to Alaska,” John said, referring to Jenna and her crew.

“How do you know that John? How are you so sure?” Dean asked.

“Because in my dream she gave me a light, and she said to follow it in my times of need, and I’m following that light now and it says to go to Alaska,” John replied.

Dean then broke down into tears as he was torn between what John was saying and his love for his children.

“I can’t do this anymore, it’s tearing me apart,” Dean said, referring to what seemed like a never–ending trek to find Jonah and Ava.

“Please believe me Dean, I wouldn’t tell you to do something if I didn’t sincerely believe in it myself. Don’t let the reality of this world blind you from the miracle of destiny,” John said.

“He’s right Dean, almost everyone in the Americas, what’s left of us anyways, are headed to Alaska to join forces with the superhumans, and if Jonah and Ava are alive I’m sure they’ll be in Alaska too,” Sarah said to him.

“I’m sorry I can’t do it, we always said we’d meet in Las Vegas, and that’s where I have to go, they could be waiting there for me and I can’t bear the thought of them waiting for me in Las Vegas while I’m headed to Alaska. Let’s go John,” Dean said.

“I can’t go with you Dean, I was forcing myself to go with you the whole time. In my dream, Luanne said to protect Ava, and that’s what I intend to do,” John said, and with that, he shook Dean’s hand and wished him well and began walking towards the superhuman aircraft.

Bismarck then looked at his knight and said, “I’ll go with Dean, you can do as you like my friend.”

“I’ll stand by you to the end Bismarck, for although you are flesh and blood and I am made of metal, we are eternally bonded, and I will gladly go with you even if it means certain death,” the knight bravely said. And with that; Dean, Bismarck, and the lone knight continued their trek to Las Vegas while John joined the superhumans on their journey to Alaska to prepare for their battle against the betasapiens and knights.

“I did it all for nothing,” Sarah said to Jenna as they boarded the vessel.

“Everything happens for a reason Sarah,” Jenna replied to her.

Then as the superhumans and humans finished boarding the aircraft Jenna closed the massive doors shut as Sarah looked out of a window at Dean’s airmobile as it sped off towards Las Vegas.

“I’m sorry that I couldn’t change his mind John, I did all of that for nothing,” Sarah said, wishing that Dean had decided to come with them to Alaska.

Little did Sarah know that John was the one that was meant to come with them to Alaska, and her choice changed his path in life. This was just another stepping stone in fulfilling his destiny and brought him one more step closer to meeting Ava and making her realize the supernatural powers she had at her command, which in turn would bring her one step closer to becoming who she was truly meant to be.

  CHAPTER EIGHT

Back in the betasapien homeland of Australia, Frank was constantly being updated by the commanders of the knights of their onslaught and decimation of the humans. As he sat alongside Achilles, he was thrilled to hear and see that the human race was almost extinct and that the world now belonged to the betasapiens.

“Master, when will you commence the attack on the superhumans in Alaska?” Achilles asked.

“Patience Achilles, I want to let their hearts burn with the pain of knowing what I did. I want them to know that I beat them and I want them to remember what I did to the humans until each and every last one of them breathes in their final breath of air on earth,” Frank said to Achilles.

“As you wish my master, but I must advise….” Achilles said as Frank rudely interrupted him.

“No Achilles, I know what you are going to say, but believe me when I tell you that there is no way they will win this war, the world now belongs to me Achilles, and I can feel it with everything in me. I will make the superhumans bow to me, and then I will kill them all, I’ll start with their children, and then I’ll kill the adolescents, and then I’ll kill the adults.” Frank said.

“And what of the elders my master? They are very powerful,” Achilles asked.

“The elders, they will suffer the worst fate of them all, they are the ones who rejected my offer of peace, and I will make them watch their people die and then I will personally kill each and every one of them,” Frank said.

“Very well my master, to you belongs the earth and everything within it,” Achilles said to Frank.

Just then another white knight entered the control room and said, “Master the people of the Invisible Dome have gone mad looking for the humans that kidnapped Chandra, and we need you to address everyone and bring calm to Australia.”

“Very well, I will do so,” Frank said, and with that, he left the room to prepare his speech for the betasapien people. Then as Frank left the room, he contacted Bernard and told him to meet him at the World Government Headquarters, and Bernard quickly made his way there to meet the ruler of the betasapiens.

As Frank arrived at the headquarters, he pondered upon his plan and devised a scheme that was full of treachery and deceit, and as Bernard entered the room, he shared his plan with him knowing fully well that Bernard would keep his secret safe.

“Greetings Sir,” Bernard said as he entered the room.

“Hello Bernard,” Frank replied to him.

“Of what service may I be Sir?” Bernard asked.

“I have a plan Bernard, and this plan will ease the fears of the betasapien public, while at the same time this plan will make them hate the humans even more,” Frank said.

“Sir, you do not have to convince the public of anything, you are our leader, and you have great powers as well as an army of knights ready to fight for you at your beck and call. They are ready to destroy anyone who opposes you, which includes any betasapiens that oppose you as well my master,” Bernard said.

“Bernard, what is the use of power if you have no one to show it to? The betasapien public knows my abilities, and tonight I will give them a reminder,” Frank said to Bernard.

“Order the knights to bring out three human clones, and we’ll display them in public, and they shall admit that they are responsible for the disappearance of Chandra,” Frank continued saying.

“And what do we do about Chandra, we still don’t know where she is,” Bernard said.

“I trust that the knights will find her soon,” Frank said, and just as he finished his sentence, there was a knock at the door and in walked Achilles. As Frank looked at him, he knew that something was wrong and said, “Achilles, I can tell that something is wrong, please tell me what’s on your mind.”

“My leader, a spy among the rogue knights informed us that a betasapien has left the confines of the Invisible Dome. She was in an escape pod and was left in the ocean, and I believe that the betasapien they speak of is Chandra,” Achilles said, knowing fully well that news of this nature would put Bridget’s life in danger.

Infuriated at hearing this news, Frank went out of control and began smashing everything using his psychic abilities, and he then told Bernard to bring the three humans to the World Government Headquarters and he then quickly left with Achilles back to his apartment to find Bridget.

Back in the apartment, Bridget and Roma sat beside each other and held each other closely, “I don’t know what I would do without you Roma, I love you so much, and I wish that we both can leave this horrid place behind us,” Bridget told her.

“Perhaps one day my love, perhaps one day,” Roma replied and then suddenly the door of the apartment was slammed open and in walked Frank with Achilles and two dozen knights. As soon as Roma saw them, she jumped up from the couch so as not to arouse any suspicion of the affair of the heart she had with Bridget.

“Where is your mother?” Frank asked as soon as he walked through the door.

“Frank, I don’t know,” Bridget replied.

“Please Bridget, I know that you know where she is, and over
time you have learned to hide your thoughts from me but if I have to take your brain out of your head to find what I am looking for I will do it, now tell me where she is,” Frank shouted.

“My leader, she doesn’t know where her mother is,” Roma replied in defense of Bridget.

“Then who knows, somebody must know who is responsible for this act of treason,” Frank said, and with those words Frank and Achilles left the apartment and headed to the World Government Headquarters, and as they did so Frank ordered five knights to bring Bridget and Roma to the headquarters with him as well.

On the way back to the headquarters Frank called Bernard, “Bernard, please send a message out to the public, and tell them that we have captured those responsible for the disappearance of Chandra. There will be a gathering at the headquarters, and everyone is invited to see what we do to traitors.”

Bernard then quickly ordered the knights to get the stage ready downstairs, and he also ordered them to bring the human clones to the headquarters, and the knights quickly dispersed to fulfill their orders.

As the stage was being setup and the clones were being brought to it, hundreds upon hundreds of the betasapien public began to gather at the headquarters as word began to spread throughout the Invisible Dome of Frank’s announcement of what happened to the mother of his wife.

As the preparation continued, airmobiles flew overhead, and the news cameras were being prepared to record the announcement and stream it to those of the betasapien public who could not attend so that they could watch it live as the event unfolded.

As Bridget and Roma, who were accompanied by the knights made their way to the headquarters, they felt uneasy about Frank, “I’m scared Roma, what is he going to do to us? How did he find out?” Bridget quietly said.

“He can’t do anything to us Bridget, you are his wife, and he has no proof that we were involved. I don’t know how he found out, but there must have been a spy among the rogue knights,” Roma replied as they finally arrived at the headquarters, unsure of what fate had in store for them.
