  DEDICATION

This book is dedicated to my parents. Even though my dad was taken away from me at the tender age of ten, I know he lives within me, and he is watching over me daily. My mom isn’t a reader at all, but she has attempted to read all of my books (I really don’t want her to read them. lol)

Without them, there would be no me, and for both of them, I will be forever thankful. Stanley and Belinda Turner, this next series goes to the both of you!!

  ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

I first must thank God for giving me this gift and passion and to write. I am thoroughly enjoying every minute of it. It does get rough at moments because I am striving to be unique, but I am loving it. I find myself brainstorming plots and twists all throughout the day to keep you guys on your toes. This is a different story, so I hope you all enjoy it

To my wonderful family, friends, and supporters, you guys are awesome. None of this would be possible without the love and support you all have shown. Stick with me please. We are going places.

I don’t like to call names because I’m always afraid I will leave someone out, however, I must give a huge shout out to my publisher, Cole Hart for giving me this opportunity and believing in me. To my magnificent test readers, I can’t thank you all enough. When I first signed with Cole Hart Presents, I had a story already in progress. This time he gave me a story and I was nervous throughout as it challenged me to really think about different plots and twists to key in the audience of entertainment. I was starting from a blank canvas, but with God and supportive friends, my canvas is filled with beautiful black ink that so cleverly expresses my passion for writing. Through all of the ups and downs of writing this story, my readers kept me motivated and encouraged. Minyon, Courtney, Erica, Chiquita, Soc, and last but certainly not least, my reader and part of my brain, Na….thank you ladies so very much!! Y’all are the real MVP’s!!

I felt led to add this word of encouragement to a lifelong friend of mine, Sam…we started out reading together, had an awesome book club (ESCAPE) and we always said we were going to write, and we did. Our journeys are different, but I just want to tell you to keep pushing! NEVER give up on your dreams. There will always be obstacles, but you gotta push through.

I’ll Never Love A Dope Boy Again

RECAP FROM I’LL NEVER LOVE A DOPE BOY AGAIN

Brook was sitting up in her hospital bed, thinking about her life and the choices she had made. She was thinking that if she could do it all over again, she wouldn’t. Not saying she wouldn’t still prefer a bad boy, but she wouldn’t trick and scheme to get what she wanted. Losing Keisha was very hurtful to her, and she was hoping to be released very soon. Keisha’s funeral was in two days, and she wanted to attend. Brook was thankful that Kamora was by her side through it all. She thought back to the talk they had before Kamora finally went home, when the doctor assured her that Brook was stable.

“I guess with me lying up here, fighting for my life, I shouldn’t be holding a grudge about you whooping my ass,” I told Kamora while chuckling.

“I’m sorry about that Brook. I saw a woman throw a drink on my man, then raise her hand to hit him. I was use to your short hair and that weave threw me off… I meant, my ex man or whatever he was,” Kamora confessed.

“About that, Smoke never acted like I was his woman, Kamora. In fact, he treated me as the complete opposite. I just decided that I wanted him and went after him. He never led me on. I think he’s a great guy for you,” I honestly told Kamora.

“You just focus on getting well. Everything happens for a reason. He’s not the man for me, and I’ll eventually be okay with that,” Kamora argued.

“I think you’re being stubborn and making a big mistake,” I countered.

When Brook’s room door opened, she was pulled away from her thoughts. In walked a man with black Burberry sunglasses and a black Nike hoodie on. Brook knew it was Jay trying to be in disguise, but she wondered why he didn’t want to be seen there. “What’s up lil mama?” Jay happily asked when he got close to the bed.

“Hi Jay,” Brook replied smugly, while thinking about how he always disappears. She didn’t know when or if she would see him again after that moment.

“I’m glad yo ass is aight. What the fuck was y’all doing anyway?” he demanded. Brook was silent. She didn’t want to answer the question because she couldn’t tell his crazy ass the truth. Noticing her hesitancy, he told her that whatever bullshit she was on, it needed to cease immediately, and how she better be glad he spotted her car on the interstate and followed her or her ass would be dead, right along with her trifling ass friend. Brook was insulted that he spoke badly about her friend, so she told him that her friend wasn’t trifling and not to disrespect her anymore. Jay laughed at her and shook his head.

“I been sending Coco by to check on you, but I had to sneak in and check on things for myself. When they talking bout letting you outta here?” Jay roughly asked. Brook told him hopefully that day or the next. Jay told Brook that he was expecting… no demanding… her to move in with him shortly after her release from the hospital. He made it known that it wasn’t up for discussion when he saw her about to open her mouth to protest. Brook silently cursed and wondered just who the fuck this nigga thought he was. Jay talked for a few more minutes and then he dipped out.

After Jay left, Brook was left alone with her feelings, once again, and they all revolved around Keisha. Her and Keisha had been thick as thieves for the past five years. They had their run-ins just like every other friendship but, overall, they understood each other and never judged one another. The only time Brook stayed mad at Keisha was over the video incident, but she even forgave her then. “If I would have followed my first mind and made us not go to that house, Keisha would still be alive,” Brook said to herself as tears streamed down her face. Brook knew that if she would have backed out, Keisha would have gone by herself, but that still didn’t stop her from blaming herself. Brook hit the button on the side of her bed for pain that the nurse told
her about because she was becoming uncomfortable. A few minutes later, she was fast asleep.

Kamora was at home cleaning, after stopping by Nikki’s to pick up D’Mani when she left the hospital. Nikki insisted on letting D’Mani stay with her, so Kamora could get some much needed rest. D’Mani eagerly agreed that he wanted to stay, and Kamora didn’t put up a fight because she really was exhausted. After Kamora finished cleaning, she sat down on the sofa to relax and to just catch her breath. Just as she was dozing off, she heard a vehicle pulling up outside and wondered who in the hell could it be. She got up to peek out the window and saw that it was Demetrius.

Kamora went to open the door for him, just as he was about to knock. He walked in holding a take-out box from Panda Express. “Here, this is that orange chicken and rice shit you love. You need to eat,” he demanded, as he handed her the food as soon as he walked through the door.

Kamora hadn’t eaten anything all day, so she said, “Thank you, Smoke,” as she sat down and started eating.

“We need to talk but, first of all, I’m Demetrius to you,” he scolded to her. Kamora silently agreed. Before he could say anything else, she thanked him for stepping in and helping her out with D’Mani while she was by Brooklyn’s side. Demetrius told her it was no big deal, and he did what was needed.

Kamora listened as Demetrius expressed his feelings about her and about the situation they were faced with. She was really stressed and wasn’t fully aware of what he was saying. To be honest, sex was on her mind. Boldly, she got up and kissed him softly and sweetly. Surprised by the action, he returned her kiss with eagerness. Putting one hand behind her neck to deepen the kiss, Demetrius took total control and gently laid her back on the couch. He moved her uneaten food from the couch and sat it on the end table.

Slowly, he removed all of her clothes, piece by piece until she was naked as the day she was born. Nibbling softly on her lips and moving across her jaw to the sensitive spot behind her ear, Kamora moaned her appreciation. After kissing slowly and sensually down her body, giving each of her breasts some special attention, he finally found her sweet spot and dove right in with his tongue. Sucking and licking her lower lips, he opened her folds with two fingers and snubbed out her clit, repeatedly flicking his tongue on her hidden treasure. She came instantly, but he didn’t let up. It actually made him more aggressive. Holding her in place as she tried to squirm, he tongue fucked her thoroughly, causing her to have multiple orgasms back to back. He lapped up every bit of her sweet juices. Crawling back up her body, he reached her mouth and kissed her hard, making her taste her own sweet juices from his lips. Kamora moaned in his mouth as she tried to recover from the multiple orgasms.

Demetrius hurriedly removed his pants and boxers and leaned into Kamora. He positioned his dick at her wet entrance. Wrapping her legs around his forearm and grabbing both of her wrists with his hands, Demetrius plunged into her hard and swift. They both screamed, “AHHHH!” Shit! He stilled himself for a minute, loving how her sweet pussy fit snuggly around his dick. Demetrius started thrusting in and out of Kamora slow and easy. Increasing his pace, he started pounding her hard and fiercely as he listened to her moan. Her sex cries were driving him crazy and was fueling him on. He gritted his teeth as he fought the urge of his own orgasm. Demetrius didn’t realize how much he missed this pussy… how much he missed her! Getting lost in her pussy and wanting to go deeper, he let go of her wrists and pinned her knees back into her chest. He wildly continued pounding and grinding her into the mattress. He didn’t want the feeling of being inside of her to end.

Arching her back and throwing her head back further was all Kamora could do as he beat her pussy up. Demetrius was grinding her like his life depended on it. “Take this dick girl!” he growled. And she did. After a few more hard thrusts, they came together while calling each other’s names. He collapsed on top of her, and she rubbed her hands up and down his strong back. The room was completely silently, except for the both of them grasping for air. They both have had many experiences in sex, but nothing that could match what they had just done.

Kamora was thoroughly satisfied but, all of sudden, Demetrius sleeping with Brook flashed into her mind. She made a sudden move and he eased off of her, thinking she was uncomfortable with his weight being on top of her. When he noticed the tears streaming down her face, he asked her what was wrong. “I’ve fallen in love with you… but I’m really not sure I can be in a relationship with you, knowing you slept with my cousin. That’s fucked up to me, even if you didn’t know,” Kamora quietly sobbed. Demetrius didn’t know what to say or to do. He remained quiet for the moment because he was really getting boiling hot. He felt like he just got played for the dick by Kamora. Hell, he was the one that hit it then quit it. He was no one’s jump off. That shit never happened to him.

“So, what you saying Kamora? You just wanted some dick, so you could say fuck me afterwards?” Demetrius harshly asked, finally breaking his silence.

“It’s not even like that,” Kamora snapped.

“What is it like then? I’m listening!” Demetrius said agitatedly, while getting dressed. Demetrius was fuming on the inside and really wanted to cuss Kamora out, but he held his tongue. He stormed out without saying goodbye. Kamora cried out to him, but all of her cries fell on deaf ears. She sat back down on the couch crying her eyes out, feeling worse than she did before.

  The Next Friday

Kamora hadn’t heard from Demetrius since he stormed out of her house pissed the fuck off last Wednesday night. D’Mani’s team had an off weekend last week, so she wasn’t able to see him. He wouldn’t even answer her phone calls or text messages. D’Mani had a game the next day, so she had a speech ready to deliver to him, and it wasn’t going to start out nice. Kamora initially planned on picking D’Mani up from school by noon today, just because she wanted to spend some time with her little man. She was feeling a little guilty that she had semi-neglected him while she stayed at the hospital with Brooklyn. However, her brunch with Nikki ran over because Kamora couldn’t get her mind off of Demetrius. Nikki let her vent just a like a good friend would do, before letting her have it. Nikki told her if the tables were turned, Kamora would have been ready to kill Demetrius’ ass. Kamora knew her friend was right, but she didn’t acknowledge it right away.

D’Mani really hated to miss recess anyway, so Kamora decided she would just let him stay at school until 2:30 when recess was over. She could still miss the long carpool line by getting there around that time. Kamora decided to go visit Brook and check on her, since she had a little more time to spare. Pulling into Brook’s apartment complex, she called her cellphone to let her know that she was outside. Brook told Kamora to come on in. She had company, but they had just left a few minutes ago, so she was lonely again.

When Kamora made it inside, she gave Brook a warm and loving hug. “I’m coming to D’Mani’s game tomorrow… well Dee’s game,” Brook announced.

“He trips me out with that nickname,” Kamora said while laughing. “But yes, you must come if you’re feeling up to it. I’ll pick you up,” Kamora continued.

“I might as well tell you this now… I’m gonna be moving in with my boyfriend soon. You actually just missed him. He was the one that saved me,” Brook half-heartedly said. Kamora eyed her skeptically.

“Saved you? He saved you, but he never showed his face at the hospital. The only person that came by while I was there was the Coco chick, and I was there pretty much twenty-four seven,” Kamora said matter of factly. Brook knew this wasn’t going to fly over very smoothly with Kamora, but she wasn’t going to back down.

“Jay is a good guy Kamora. He told me why he couldn’t show his face at the hospital but that one time. He did come by for a few minutes when you went home,” Brook defended.

Kamora didn’t want to get into an argument with Brook, but she really did want to slap some sense into her. She calmed herself down before speaking again. “Brook, I really just want the best for you. You’ve b
een through so much in life, and I don’t want any more turmoil for you. I love you! I just find it strange that a man won’t be by your side during your darkest hours,” Kamora said in a voiced laced with love and sincerity.

“I understand your concern Kamora, but Jay is good. You really need to be trying to make up with Smoke… well Demetrius to you… because he’s a good man too,” Brook asserted. Kamora knew exactly what Brook was doing, trying to take the focus off of herself and get Kamora to shut up, and it absolutely worked. Kamora didn’t want to think or talk about Demetrius at the current moment. She changed the subject by asking Brook when was her next doctor’s appointment and what all types of medications she was taking. She was genuinely concerned, but she also knew this topic of choice would be a great distraction. They talked for ten more minutes until it was time for Kamora to leave. Kamora informed her that she was headed to pick D’Mani up from school and reminded her again about the game the next day.

“I’ll call you when I’m on my way to make sure you are ready,” Kamora said before walking out the door.

Kamora rode in silence on her way to pick D’Mani up. She just needed quiet time to think. She thought about everything Nikki said, everything Brook said, and even her own emotional thoughts. She realized that she was wrong and went overboard with how she shut Demetrius out. And now, he was giving her that same treatment she was once dishing out. Damn, it ain’t so much fun when the rabbit got the gun, Kamora thought to herself.

Just as she was parking at D’Mani’s school, her cellphone began to ring. She had the school number programmed in, so she knew it was the school calling. “Hello,” Kamora answered while getting out of the car.

“Hi Mrs. Whitfield, how are you?” the caller greeted.

“I’m great! I’m actually about to walk inside of the school now to pick up D’Mani,” Kamora replied eagerly. There was a long pause so Kamora said, “Hello.” Nervously and shakily, the caller told her they would be waiting inside to speak with her. Kamora was a bit confused by that phone call, and it made her walk faster and take longer strides to get to the principal’s office.
