As soon as she walked in, she felt that something was off. “What’s going on?” she asked with a panic voice.

“Mrs. Whitfield, we were hoping that you had D’Mani,” the principal anxiously stated.

“What do you mean by that? He has been here at school so how could… what the fuck are trying to say? You don’t know where my son?” Kamora stated angrily.

“Please calm down, so we can figure out what’s going on,” the principal ushered.

“Calm down? WHERE… IS… MY… SON??” Kamora asked again through gritted teeth.

“He came up missing during recess. Ms. McClendon said he walked to the bathroom but never came back,” the principal said as he swallowed the lump in his throat.

“OH MY GOD!!! OH MY GOD!! You all let someone take my son!! OH MY GOD!! NOOOOOO!!!” Kamora screamed hysterically. It took ten whole minutes for them to calm Kamora down. She was in such a haze and didn’t know if she was coming or going. Not knowing what else to do, she reached in her purse for her cellphone and naturally called Demetrius. He didn’t answer, so she called right back.

On the second ring, he finally picked up and said “WHAT?” in a ‘what the fuck do you want’ voice. Ignoring his tone, Kamora broke down crying into the phone. That got his attention.

“What’s wrong baby?” he curiously asked, while silently kicking his own ass for being so damn rude. He could tell something was terribly wrong as strange feelings started rumbling in his stomach.

“They… somebody… got D’Mani!” Kamora hiccupped through her tears.

“WHAT THE FUCK YOU MEAN SOMEBODY GOT D’MANI?” Demetrius asked angrily, while grabbing both of his Glocks and keys from the table and heading for the door.

  Chapter 1

  June 2015

With wild and crazy thoughts running through his mind, Demetrius sped down the highway like he was at NASCAR, trying to get to Kamora. Through her hiccupped sobs and vehement anger, he was able to make out that she was at D’Mani’s school after saying he was missing before she hung up on him. Furiously shaking, he tried calling back three times, but she never answered the got damn phone. “SHIT!” “FUCCCKKK!” he screamed over and over again while hitting the steering wheel. Speaking out loud to himself, Demetrius promised that whoever was responsible for taking Lil Dee might as well get ready to meet their muthafuckin maker. He was ready for war. “Who takes a kid from school two days before summer break?” he fumed. Who the fuck want to hurt Kamora? Was this payback for my fuck ups? Was I the reason why little man was gone? Was this blow back from her dead husband? Who is the hell had the balls to fuck with my people? Those questions kept racing through his head. Demetrius was beyond angry on the inside, thinking that this was a result to his street life. He knew Kamora would never forgive him if something happened to D’Mani, which was why he already made phone calls and put a team in motion to handle the situation.

Twenty minutes later, Demetrius finally pulled into the school parking lot. He saw Kamora’s truck near the front, but there was no parking space near it. He found the first one he saw, which was a little distance away from the front door. Whipping in to the space, Demetrius quickly parked and jumped out, running full speed towards the school. Before bursting through the door, he heard Kamora’s voice loud and clear, cussing everyone out while demanding to see the got damn security tapes. Once Demetrius made it inside, he went straight to Kamora, and she immediately fell into his embrace and began to cry louder. “Shhh… we gonna find him baby. I know it’s hard, but try to calm down. Shhh... shhh,” he kept repeating softly while rubbing his hands up and down her back. Demetrius tried his best to comfort her, to no avail. Demetrius wanted to comfort Kamora, but he wanted to find D’Mani more, so he started attacking all of the staff present with questions. “Where was he the last time y’all saw him? What time was it? Were there cameras present? Have y’all called 5-0?” Demetrius fired questions back to back to back.

“Who are you?” the secretary asked with a confused look.

“It doesn’t matter who the fuck I am! Answer my got damn questions!” Demetrius fumed, losing the little amount of patience he had.

The secretary flinched at the tone of his voice and turned ten shades of red. “I’m… I’m sorry,” she stuttered before the principal stepped in and tried to defuse the situation. He answered all of Demetrius’ questions to the best of his ability and assured them that the police had been contacted and were on the way.

“Where was he at when y’all last saw him?” Demetrius asked while opening to the office door to leave. “Standing here in this one spot ain’t gon solve a muthafuckin’ thang,” Demetrius continued. They tried to stop Demetrius, but he tuned them out and headed down the hallway, not knowing exactly where he was going with Kamora right on his heels. The principal hurried and caught up with them and explained to him the same thing they previously shared with Kamora.

As the principal talked, Demetrius absently listened but didn’t stop walking until he was outside on the playground, standing in the last place D’Mani was seen. Demetrius stopped in the middle of the playground and surveyed the opened area. He was fuming on the inside, while trying to remain calm and collected for Kamora on the outside. “Who would wanna take my baby?” Kamora questioned after finally finding her voice. “For him to be taken right at school is ridiculous,” Kamora continued while shaking her head and wrapping her arms around her waist. Before she could say anything else, the police were walking out of the double doors of the school with a camera crew right behind them. Kamora was beginning to feel overwhelmed and panicky, but she scolded herself to be strong so that she could find her baby.

Both Kamora and Demetrius listened carefully as the school staff explained what happened to the police. Since they weren’t present, immediate input from them wasn’t needed at the moment. School was now being dismissed and many of the parents formed a crowd, trying to figure out what was happening. Some of the children from D’Mani’s class were now back outside and being questioned in the presence of their parents. Looking scared and sad, the children couldn’t offer any additional information to the ongoing search.

Kissing her on the forehead, Demetrius held Kamora tightly, assuring her that he would be right by her side every step of the way. He wanted to make sure that she knew, despite their previous argument, that he wasn’t going anywhere and that his place was with her. The reporters started making their way towards Demetrius and Kamora. However, Kamora kept her eyes on the cops as they searched the premises for clues. She was still in shock and was hoping that she would wake up from the hellish nightmare she was having soon… very soon.

The reporters ran down a list of questions before going live. D’Mani’s current school picture had already been plastered all over the news, and one of the teachers was nice enough to make flyers with his pictures to post around town. Everything was happening so fast. Kamora was crying uncontrollably, but she was able to answer all of the questions she was asked. The reporter shifted her attention to Demetrius and asked him a series of questions next. He answered promptly until the woman made reference to him being D’Mani’s dad. He loved D’Mani like he was his son, but he didn’t want to disrespect Kamora or her late husband by saying he was D’Mani’s dad. Hearing the question, Kamora quickly spoke up and told the reporter that neither of them would rest until they had their son safely back in their arms. She ended the interview by sorrowfully saying, “I never imagined we would be facing anything like this. My heart is torn into pieces. We only want D’Mani back, and we need the help of everyone to make that possible. There will be a ONE MILLION DOLLAR reward given to the person who brings our son home safe and sound, unharmed!” Stunned, Demetrius almost broke his neck looking surprised at Kamora after she offered the reward. Not believing what he heard, the news reporter asked Kamora to repeat the reward amount, and she boldly stated without hesitation, “ONE MILLION DOLLARS!!!”

Later that night, Demetrius followed Kamora to her house. They were sit
ting in the living room, and it was eerily quiet. Neither knew what to say to each other. The tension was so thick; you could cut it with a knife. Before Demetrius and Kamora left the school, the cops stopped them and asked if they had any known enemies. With Kamora offering a million-dollar reward, it made them very suspicious. Kamora and Demetrius both sat silently with their own thoughts. She thought back to two years ago and wondered if someone came back to take more from her than they already had. Demetrius thought about all of the bullshit that had been taking place in the streets lately and wondered if him hanging so closely around Kamora and D’Mani had put them in danger. Kamora wanted her son back, for sure, but she just couldn’t make herself bring up the past. She silently prayed that it wouldn’t come back to haunt her. Demetrius also remained quiet with the exact same prayers.

“I wonder if Marquez’s killer came back to cause more damage,” Kamora finally said, breaking the silence. Feeling relieved, he released a breath that he didn’t realize he was holding; Demetrius believed that, this whole time, she was upset and blaming him. He relaxed and went and sat next to her and rubbed his hands across her shoulders.

“Baby, we will get him back. I don’t know what the fuck is going on but, please believe, we will get lil man back without a doubt. I made several phone calls all the way over here and shit is in motion,” Demetrius told Kamora with sincerity.

He gave her a neck and shoulder massage to help ease some of her tension, but they both knew she wouldn’t rest until D’Mani was back. Kamora had been so caught up with everything, she didn’t answer any phone calls. After finally picking up her cellphone, she saw missed calls and text messages from Nikki and several from parents of children that were in D’Mani’s class. She recognized the numbers because they were in a group chat the parents had from a PTO meeting. Kamora immediately thought about Brook and wondered where she was. She hadn’t heard from her much, since Brook told her she was about to move in with some new man. Kamora didn’t like the idea, but Brook was a grown ass woman, who did exactly what she wanted to do. Dialing Brooklyn’s number, it went straight to voicemail. Kamora tried again and got the same results. “Does this bitch have her phone turned off,” Kamora mumbled. She decided to send her a text message, telling her to call her ASAP!!

“I know you don’t want to, but you gotta eat something. You gotta stay strong in order to get through this shit, and I don’t wanna hear anything about you not being hungry,” Demetrius told Kamora while heading into the kitchen to see what he could fix her real quick. While he was in the kitchen, he noticed chicken in the refrigerator, so he prepared everything to drop it in the deep fryer. He walked back into the living room, but Kamora was nowhere to be found. He walked into the master bedroom, and she still wasn’t there. He told himself to check D’Mani’s room before going upstairs and that’s where he found her, standing there staring at his picture. He walked up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist, and she broke down crying again. All of the fight in him couldn’t stop the hot tears from rolling from his own eyes that he had fought all day to keep at bay. Chicken forgotten, they stayed in that simple embrace for what seemed like hours.

  Chapter 2

Brook was outside relaxing on a chaise at Pink Sands Beach in Harbour Island, with the sun starting to set. The quiet shores of Pink Sands were beyond seductive and tranquil, with the water matching the clear blue skies. With her cocktail in her hand, the only thing Brook was missing was Jay being next to her. For the past three days, Brook and Jay had been vacationing, but his actions had been the same as they were in Atlanta. He would disappear for hours at a time and would give Brook an ‘I would slap the fuck out of you’ look when she questioned him about his whereabouts. To make matters worse, Jay had taken Brook’s cellphone and turned it completely off, saying she didn’t need it while they were away. Meanwhile, he kept his cell on, stating that he still had a business to run.

Since Brook’s near death experience, her life had taken a turn for the better. She couldn’t figure out all of Jay’s ways. But, she felt like he had feelings for her, and she was falling in love with him. He showered her with money, clothes, jewelry, and even bought her a Yukon Denali, telling her it was time to get rid of her little Honda Accord. Brook was a little offended at first because she loved her car, and it was something she bought of her own. But, she got over it and embraced her new ride. Jay was all about controlling Brook and her life. Jay pretty much wanted Brook to forget about her past life and start over with him. Even though Brook was having a few doubts about their relationship, she continued to follow his lead. Jay demanded Brook to get rid of her apartment, but something told her to keep it, so she lied to him and told him she turned in her key. Instead, she actually paid management to switch apartments and paid up her rent for six months.

“What’s up sexy?” Jay amusingly asked, startling Brook and causing her to jump. She had been deep in her thoughts.

“Hey baby!” Brook replied excitedly. It was on the tip of her tongue to ask him where he had been for the past four hours, but she decided against it. Instead, she got up and joined him on his chaise and kissed him passionately. He pulled the string on her pink and white bikini top and squeezed her breasts simultaneously. “Ahhhh,” Brook moaned because she was loving the amount of pressure he was applying. Brook shifted her body on top of Jay’s and felt his hard ass dick instantly against her stomach. He continued to squeeze her right nipple and leaned forward and covered her left one with his mouth. He removed his hand from her breast and slid it inside of her bikini bottom and found her soaking wet mound.

Brook leaned forward and found Jay’s lips and kissed him feverishly. She moved her kisses down to his earlobe, then on lower to his neck. His chiseled chest was next, after she pulled the wife beater over his head and threw it on the ground. Unbeknownst to Brook, Jay wasn’t really tryna fuck right then, especially since he had just finished thirty minutes ago. He was already spent. However, when Brook pulled his dick out from his pants and covered it with her skillful mouth, there was no turning back.

“What the hell! Might as well get some good head too!” Jay silently boasted in his mind. Jay took in the sight of Brook bobbing up and down on his dick, knowing she was putting in some work. “Got damn! Suck that big black dick girl!” Jay heavily panted, while his eyes rolled to the back of his head. Brook had Jay squirming like a snake in the chaise. Before he knew it, he squirted his cum in her mouth, and she swallowed and lapped up all his juices. She was thankful that no one was in sight but, deep down, she wouldn’t have minded being watched.

After Brook was certain that Jay was satisfied with his blowjob, she straddled over his lap and eased down onto his rock hard shaft. Placing her hands on his shoulders, she threw her head back in ecstasy, as she glided up and down on his dick. She rode him like he was her two-legged horse. “Yahhhsss… you feel so damn good,” Brook moaned. Holding her hips, catching her rhythm, and meeting her thrust for thrust, Jay let her have her way for the first few minutes before raising up and flipping her over. Throwing her left leg over his shoulder, he fucked her fiercely, hitting her G-spot on his very first thrust. Brooked screamed out in pleasure and pain. When she said “fuck me daddy,” Jay went wild. His balls could be heard hitting her ass after each and every pump he delivered. Brooklyn tried her best to throw the pussy back at him, but she was no match for him, so she eventually gave up and let him have his way, which was what he did best anyway. “I’m… bout… to… cum!!” Brook screamed between Jay’s pumps, while digging her fingernails into his back. And she did. It was like someone turned a water hydrant on. A few thrusts later, Jay grunted loud as hell, as he filled her up with his cum.

Brook couldn’t move, even if she wanted to, after Jay put that beating on her pussy. Jay was drained himself, which was why he was lying there about to fall asleep. She rubbed his back and silently wished that he was always as peaceful and attentive as he was at that exact moment, but she knew he had money to make. She told herself, as l
ong as he treated her right, she would be down for him. While gazing lovingly at Jay, it suddenly hit Brook that, ever since they had been on vacation, Jay hadn’t been using condoms. What the fuck! How could I not remember to use a condom? I always use a condom, no matter what. This muthafucka better not have given me a STD. Damn! Fuck! Brook bewilderedly chided herself in a one-side conversation in her mind. She made a mental note to check him about it, but she didn’t want to destroy their current serene mood, so she let it be. Squeezing her arms around him tighter, she drifted off to sleep.

The next morning, Brook dreadfully boarded the G6. She enjoyed herself thoroughly, but she did miss Kamora and D’Mani. They were all that she really had since Keisha was gone. Brook thought back to Keisha’s funeral when she took her seat and instantly got sad. She knew she couldn’t show her true emotions about missing her friend around Jay. If she mentioned Keisha’s name to Jay, he would degrade her badly and that was hard for Brook to take. The last time she was crying over Keisha and expressed her feelings to him, he talked so bad about Keisha. When Brooklyn defended her friend, he punched her dead in her left jaw. That was the first time he put his hands on Brook. Surprised by being hit, Brook swiftly picked up a lamp and threw it at him, but he ducked and charged towards her, grabbing her arms to keep her from moving. He promptly apologized and promised to never put his hands on her again.

“What’s wrong witchu?” Jay sincerely asked, bringing Brooklyn back to reality.

“Oh nothing, I just wasn’t ready to leave,” she halfway lied.
