The Last Time

She never felt anything so incredible. Her head rolled wildly on the pillow beneath her head. Coup de grace was he lifted her hips pushed his tongue in her. She moaned so loud, he knew for sure the neighbors could hear her. Her body trembled in his hands as the orgasm hit her hard and swift. Cordell moved above her. Her pretty face tight with ecstasy. He entered her; he could still feel her wall pulsating, as moisture flowed. Cordell moaned loudly and moved in her wildly. Her tear-filled eyes opened. Gently she caressed his face, her body gyrating greedily beneath him. Her legs wrapped around his body as he moved in her. He was in heaven, and he didn’t want to leave it. He wanted another one; he needed her to have an orgasm, before he could give her his soul.
“Give it to me Baby, give me what I know you have,” Cordell said huskily barely holding to his own pleasure.
Lynn legs tightened around him, and let go murmuring his name repeatedly. Cordell leaned up, pushing in her hard and fast, before joining her in paradise. He leaned above her feeling her tremble, while moving beneath taking all of him. When she pulled the last of his strength from his body, his budging muscles felt like jelly and he collapsed on her. She held him close to her, their hearts rapidly beating with one accord. Cordell face pressed into her neck. He tasted her sweet, tangy skin, as their bodies slowly returned to earth. Her arms loosened, and he rolled to her side. Cordell turned his head and looked over at her. She was staring at the ceiling with a look of wonderment on her beautiful face. Cordell chuckled. She glanced over smiling at him.
“We are definitely too old for this,” she said with a chuckled.
“I still got it for an old man,” Cordell said arrogantly puffed up.
Lynn's face was suddenly serious. “I love you Cordell.”
Cordell rolled to his side, pulling her close to him holding her tightly against him.
Epilogue
It was a scorching summer. Cordell rented a house in Wildwood for their first family vacation. Cord and Sherri arrived with Lynn and Cordell. Calvin, Tessa, and James would be arriving on the weekend. Sherri invited her girlfriend, and Cord had one of his friends with him. The beach house was pretty with its whitewashed siding, and spacious, airy rooms. At night, Lynn and Cordell sat out on the veranda in the white wicker chair silently watching the waves crashed into the shore. Cordell looked over at Lynn. She had a smile on her face.
Cordell smiled. “I know what you’re thinking about,” he said to her.
Lynn looked over at him, her smile widening. “What?” She challenged, leaving the chair to lean against the rail of the veranda.
Cordell rose to stand in front of her.
“The times we made love on that balcony in Florida," stating sure of himself.
Lynn grinned and turned away to look out at the ocean. Cordell moved behind her, pulling her close into his body. She felt his arousal. Lynn looked up at him mischievously.
“Don’t even think about Cordell, not with the kids coming in and out."
“They are all asleep, if you can be quiet, they will never know.”
Lynn elbowed him. “I’m not the one that’s loud,” she stated indignantly.
Cordell moved his hands up the skirt of her sundress, caressing her thighs. Lynn sighed.
“Sh...!” Cordell said in her ear. His fingers slipped into the side of her panties. Lynn leaned her head back. He released hardened manhood from his pants, moved her panties aside, and entered her, as finger rubbed the swollen nub. Slowly he moved in her and rubbed her quivering flesh. Her head back against his shoulder.
“Baby,” he whispered in her ear. Lynn pushed herself back meeting his thrusting manhood.
“Cordell,” she moaned, her body tensed, climaxing. Cordell gave one more thrust and joined her. He pulled from her, turning her, he pulled her in his arms and held her so tight, and she couldn’t breath. He lowered his head and kissed the top of her head.
“Let’s go to bed, I’m still hungry," he whispered.
Lynn looked up at him and smiled, and let him take her to the bedroom they shared.
They all sat at the breakfast table while Lynn prepared breakfast. “So what is everyone doing today?” Cordell asked.
“Tess, Jules, and I, are going on the boardwalk shopping,” Sherri said smiling.
“Me and Jake are going to the beach for a little sport of girl watching,” Cord told them.
“Hey that sounds like fun,” Calvin said, “I think like that sport.”
“All them bodies running around, mm…” James said, licking his lips.
“James!” Lynn said laughing at her boys.
“What are you two going to do?” Calvin asked.
Lynn and Cordell looked at each other and smiled.
“Nothing we are just going to enjoy the quiet.” Cordell replied. Lynn stood beside him, her hand on his shoulder. Cordell lifted it bring it to his lips. Lynn’s eyes met him, and she sighed.
Everyone at the table looked at each other and shook their heads.
“I still say, you guys are just too old to be carrying on like young people,” Tessa said laughing.
“Well Tess, I say if it still works, why not use it.” Cordell replied.
“My ears, my ears are bleeding!” Calvin groaned holding his ears, while they all laughed.
“Oh Boy, please. Anyone want more pancakes,” Lynn smiled.
“I do!” The men at the table said.
Cordell looked around the table. He never thought he could be as happy as he is at this moment. He has a family. He has a woman that loves him unconditionally. Her children and his children like each other. Cordell listened to the light banter at the table and felt a lump form in his throat. He rose from the table, standing behind Lynn as she washed the dishes. She looked up at Cordell and smiled.
They didn’t notice that the kitchen became quiet.
“What is it Honey?” Lynn asked.
Cordell turned her in his arms. “Nothing, I just love you,” he stated. Lynn smiled and touched his lips.
“Go head Dad, kiss her,” Cord said.
Lynn and Cordell turned to look at them.
“Kiss her, kiss her!” They all chanted.
Cordell leaned Lynn over in his arms and covered her mouth with his, playfully.
They all watched until the kiss became passionate.
“Okay that’s enough,” they said together getting up from the table.
“I think it's romantic,” Sherri said sighing.
“You would,” Cord said.
They left Lynn and Cordell alone.
Their night before their last day at the beach house Cordell gather all everyone except Lynn in the living room. Lynn decided she wanted to take a long hot bubble bath in the large tub in the room she and Cordell shared. Cordell took the opportunity to gather the children together.
Everyone sat looking up at him waiting for him to speak. Cordell couldn’t understand why he was so nervous. He looked at all the expecting face as they sat quietly looking at him. Cordell cleared his throat again for the third time and took a deep breath.
“Dad,” Cord said impatiently.
“Okay, okay.” Cordell looked over at Lynn's children. He genuinely liked them. They were grown of course; all had excellent careers, and virtuous lives. Therefore, he felt he had to address them before he made any plans that concerned their mother.
“James, Calvin, and Tess, you know I love your mother very much, she is the very air I breathe, and I realize we’ve only been together a little over a year, but then your mother and I fell in love with each other quickly, so what I about to say is only par for the course.” Cordell took another breath. “I would like to ask you for your mother’s hand in marriage?” Cordell rushed out.
All mouths dropped.
“Huddle,” Calvin called to them. Cord and Sherri sat watching them. Calvin looked over at them. “Hey, get over here, this includes you too!”
Cord and Sherri grinned happy to join them. Even their friends were included. The seven of them
huddled their arms around each other. Cordell stood with his hands on his hips, shaking his head smiling. Yeah, he loved these kids. He listens to their hushed voices talking, and a few giggles from the girls, and the boys shushing them.
“Okay break!” James said. Each one of them stood in front of Cordell, with peculiar serious faces. Calvin spoke for everyone. “Well Mr. Cordell, I need to know, she not pregnant or anything, I don’t want this to be a shotgun thing you understand.”
Cordell laughed loudly. “I’m pretty sure it’s not.”
“I wasn’t sure, the way the two of you go at each other.”
Cordell felt his face grow hot, but grinned proudly.
“Mr. Cordell, we would be more than proud to have you married our mother, we know how much she loves you, and we can’t ever remembering Mom being as happy as she been this past year, so we all agreed you may have her hand, and we shall be proud to call you father.”
Cordell grinned proudly. James counted them off.
“1-2-3,” they all bowed to pay homage, “Father.” Cordell threw back his head and laughed.
He looked over at Cord and Sherri.
“You two okay with this, I know you love your mother, and maybe in the back of your minds you thought we might be a family again, but I love Lynn very much.”
“Dad, Sherri, and I know Mom wasn’t the easiest person to live with. We're just happy that finally you are happy, so we would love nothing better than to have Ms Lynn as our other Mom, she’s great.”
Cordell felt a lump catch in his throat. He looked at all of them, tears were flowing down the girls face, even Jules her friend.
“Okay men buck up, now buck up!” Calvin said hitting his chest, because Cordell could see the glimmer of tears in all the young men’s eyes.
“Yeah, we are manly men,” James said in a deep voice, hitting his chest. They all laughed.
“When are going to propose?” Tessa asked.
Cordell reached into his pocket and pulled out a three-carat diamond ring. The girls gushed over the ring he showed them.
“I have thought since tomorrow night is our last night here, I would do it at dinner, but I want to make it very special for her, got any ideas, what I wanted to do you probably wouldn’t approve.”
“Please Dad, a part of my brain has just stopped functioning with that thought,” Calvin said grimacing holding his head. They all laughed.
“Hey what's so funny?” Lynn said coming down the circular stairway.
“Later,” Cordell whispered going to Lynn.
Everyone tried to look nonchalant.
“Nothing!” They all said in unison.
Lynn frowned looking at each of their faces suspiciously.
“We were just trying to decide where we would have dinner,” Cordell said quickly, and then kissed her cheek.
“Dinner?” James said.
“Yes, dinner!” Cordell said glaring at James.
“Oh yeah Mom dinner,” he said grinning.
The next night they informed Cordell the plan they made. They had to get dressed up. All of them went to the mall and bought formal attire for their special night. Cordell told Lynn the kids wanted the last night here to be memorable so she had to dress up. Each one had to buy a gift for Lynn that would lead up to Cordell popping the question, without totally giving the surprise away.
“Cordell, I didn’t bring anything dressy,” she informed him.
“Hey this is what the kids wanted, Baby. They want us to get dressed up, so I said we would go along with them.”
Cordell and Lynn went to the mall and brought some dress clothes.
No one was allowed in the dining room until dinner was ready. It was agreed they would meet in the living room, and all enter together. Cordell didn’t even know what to expect.
Everyone was dressed, and patiently waiting for Lynn and Cordell to join the rest of the family.
When they finally came down the stairs. Cordell stopped, and Cord took a picture of them on the stairs. Lynn looked up at Cordell, smiling. Another flash of the camera blinding her.
“Cord, why are you taking pictures?” She asked.
“This is our last night here, I just wanted to save the memories, of the best summer ever,” he stated smiling. James leaned into him. “Great save,” he murmured.
“I meant it,” Cord whispered to him. James clapped him on his back.
Lynn and Cordell continued down the steps. Cordell looked over at his son and winked with a smile.
Sherri opened the doors to the dining room. Lynn and Cordell’s eyes widened. This was just as much a surprise for him as it was for Lynn. The kids grinned proud of themselves as they watched their parents' reaction.
The room was bathed in candlelight. The table was set formally to perfection. Beautifully wrapped gifts sat on a small side table.
Lynn looked up at Cordell with confusion and questions in her eyes. Cordell just shrugged. Lynn looked at all the smiling faces. How she loved these children, Cordell’s included.
“This is so beautiful,” she said to them.
The boys helped the girls with to their chairs. Cordell escorted Lynn down to the other end of the table. Before seating himself, he tenderly kissed her lips, lingering. Several throats cleared interrupting the moment. Cordell moved away from Lynn and sat at the head of the table.
Lynn looked with love around the room, joyous tears filling her eyes. The large round table dining table was covered with white linen with elegantly folded blush cloth napkins. The centerpiece breathtaking with its blush and white roses surrounded by taper candlelight. Crystal glasses and elegantly place setting for nine. Soft music filled the dimly lit room putting the finishing touch on the ambiance.
Calvin clapped his hands two times and the swinging door to the kitchen open. Out came a formally dressed server. He had a bottle of wine, wrapped in a white linen cloth. He went to Cordell so he could see the choice of wine. Dom Perignon. Cordell nodded to the server his approval. Cordell looked up at Calvin. Calvin grinned. All glasses were filled.
Calvin stood first. “Mom, Mr. Cordell, I speak for everyone when I say, this has been the best summer we shared as a family, and I hope we have more to come, so here’s to you and Mom.”
The love Lynn had for these children shone in her eyes. Cord and Sherri eyes went to their father for permission for them to take a sip. Cordell nodded to them. Everyone talked softly.
Calvin clapped his hands again, and this time three formally dressed servers came out of the kitchen carrying trays of the most aromatic foods Lynn had ever smelled. Everyone was served, and Cordell blessed the food.
Lynn was unusually quiet. She was so choked up she honestly couldn’t speak. She looked down the table to Cordell. He lifted his glass in a silent salute and winked at her. Lynn thought she couldn’t be any happier than she was at that precise moment. She had her children and Cordell’s children around her. The man of her dreams sitting at the head of the table, causing her heart to flutter whenever their eyes met. Who would have thought at her age she would fall so deeply in love. After everything she has been through it was finally her turn, this is the last time she would fall in love. Her face glowed with happiness.
Dessert and coffee were served, as all talk and laughed with each other.
James stood tapping the side of his wine glass with a spoon. When everyone quieted, he spoke addressing Lynn.
“Mom, Mr. Cordell, we want to let you know how much we love you, and how happy we are that the two of you are together. Therefore, to pay homage to you Mom, we have all gotten you a little something to thank you for a wonderful summer, and for many more to come.
Here, here!” They all said.
“Since Sherri is the youngest she will go first.” Calvin announced.
Sherri went to the side table and picked up her gift to Lynn.
She went to Lynn and handed it to her. “Ms Lynn, this gift is for making my Dad so happy and me too.” She bent and kissed Lynn cheek.
> “Oh Baby, thank you so much.”
“Open it Mom,” Tess said.
Lynn hands trembled. She pulled open the box, inside was a picture they had all taken together on the beach. The photo was in a beautifully ornate silver frame, with words, my family etched on the edge. Lynn looked up at her and smiled. “I love it, thank you.”
Next was Cord. He handed her his box. “Thanks for a great summer,” She opened the small box. A gold locket nestled on white silk. Lynn hands cover her mouth. Lynn lifted the locket and opened it. Inside was a picture of her on one side, and Cordell on the other.
“Honey look,” she said as a tear fell from her eye. She looked at Cord.
“Get over here Boy,” she said and hugged him.
James was next; he placed a large box in front of her. Lynn looked up at James and smiled.
“Always in my heart,” he choked, putting his hand to his chest.
Lynn lifted the lid of the large box. A photo album lay down in the box. On the front, was gold embossed lettering reading, “My Family.” More tears fell from Lynn’s eyes. She looked at all the grinning happy faces around the table. Next came Tessa, handing her a large box. “Mom I’m so happy to see you happy, and I hope you stay that way forever and ever, I love you,” Tessa with tears in her eyes.
Lynn looked up at her daughters smiling face. In the box was a large round scented candle decorated with white pearls and a gold cursive lettering reading, “Forever yours.”
“Oh Tess, I love you too.” More tears.
Calvin rose and got the last box on the table.
“Mom, you have been the best mother any kids could have, and I know that you have been through a lot through the years, but you never let that interfere with the love and care you gave to us. I love you Mom, and I want you always as happy as you are at this moment.”
Lynn opened the box, to see a charm bracelet inside, with charms with everyone’s birthstone.
