Secrets of the Falls (Twelve Oaks Farm Book 3)

Seconds later when he returned with a towel wrapped around his waist, she couldn’t keep her eyes off his magnificent chest. Splotches of red showed on her cheeks. It took an enormous act of will not to touch him.
The wicked smile on his lips caused her stomach to jump. “Is something wrong?”
Of course he knew he was handsome. She could see it in his cocky grin, the arrogant stance of his body. “No, I’m fine.” A loud rumble of thunder had her inching closer. For some reason she needed him to hold her.
His eyes were so hot they seared her. His hands sank into the mass of her hair and lifted her face for his kiss. Her pulse was racing as his hand slipped behind her neck. Their lips met and melded. His lips opened over hers, his tongue stroking hers. Lacy let herself float on the moment. All the worry and fatigue melted away as his arms tightened around her. She feathered her fingers through his long, damp hair.
Dylan pulled her into his lap, stood in one swift movement, and carried her to her bed lips still pressed to hers. The pressure of his body on hers heightened her arousal. His tongue dived deeper and became more aggressive. His hands gripped her hips and shoved her harder against him. His soft whisper caused her to tremble with need. “I have wanted this from the first time I saw you. You are too beautiful for words.” Suddenly he pulled away and she almost screamed.
He was back almost as fast as he disappeared. He placed the flashlight on the table by the bed. Eyes still on her, he dropped the towel to the floor. She rolled to her side and took in every perfect, male inch of him. She’d never seen a naked man before. Broad shoulders, flat stomach, six pack; he was flawless. Not ashamed in the least, he let her take her time as her eyes roamed over his splendid body. “You can touch me.”
Suddenly shy, she didn’t think she could possibly do something so bold. In fact she didn’t think she should make love with Dylan. She was making a huge mistake. She sat up, wrapped her arms around her up drawn knees. Her emotions were too fragile. “Tommy and Michelle might be back any minute.”
“You have a tendency to make things harder that they are. Don’t tempt me and then push me away, Lacy.” He took her hand and pulled it to his stiff member. “Feel how much I want you.”
Lacy gasped when she felt the heat and hardness of his penis. His lips pressed against hers in a soft sweet kiss. She felt herself hesitate, soften, sway toward surrender when the kiss intensified. He rose above her long enough to pull her tee-shirt over her head. Next he removed her bra. He whispered, “Perfect,” as his eyes took their time raking over her body. He drew her shorts over her hips, then her legs. She opened her mouth to protest but he put his fingers over her lips. “Just let it happen, Lacy. Don’t analyze, don’t question whether it is right or wrong. Go with the moment once in your life.”
She wound herself around him and let him take control. His hand slipped into her panties. When his finger slipped inside, she gasped out loud in shock. He pulled his hand away and she almost screamed in frustration. She liked the feel of him touching her. He slipped his thumbs into the band of her panties taking his time slipping them over her legs.
“You are beautiful.”
The urge to cover her nakedness from his view was strong. He took his time letting his eyes rake over her nude body. He straddled her hips with his knees pinning her arms with one hand. His lips moved to hers and he kissed her long and brutally. Her whole body tingled when his free hand inched its way to her breasts. Dylan moved his lips over her face and down her neck, nibbling at her peaking breasts. She thought she would go mad when he sucked on her nipple. The sensation of his mouth covering her breast was amazing. Sucking one nipple into his mouth, he pinched the other, rolling it between his fingers. She tugged until he loosened his hold on her wrists. Her hands roamed over his back and shoulders. Instinct led her on as she gripped his firm ass with both hands and squeezed.
Dylan began to breathe harder. Knowing he was finding pleasure in her exploration of his body gave her confidence to continue. He sucked harder at her breast causing her back to come off the mattress. He lifted his head from her breast and whispered, “Do you like that, Lacy?”
“Yes.” She dug her fingers in his hair and pushed him back to her breasts. “Don’t stop.”
His hand slowly inched its way across her stomach, then lower. His finger slipped inside. “How about this? Do you like my finger inside you?” She nodded and moaned. “You are so wet.” His finger moved inside and out in a gentle rhythm.
Instinct kicked in again and she moved her hips against his hand. Seconds passed as something began to build from within. She threw her head back, gritted her teeth, and screamed his name as an orgasm surged through her body. He pressed his finger deeper as she pushed against his hand. Several thrusts of her hips and she whispered, “Oh, my. I never knew.” She went limp.
He pushed damp, sweaty wisps of hair away from her face. “Are you okay?”
“Yes, that was earth shattering.”
“We’re not finished yet.”
She could hardly move. She didn’t know if she could handle much more. It was her first orgasm and it left her drained of all her energy. Dylan devoured her mouth. It wasn’t long and the tingle returned between her legs. She circled her arms around his neck and mimicked his moves with her tongue.
He lifted his head and peered into her eyes. “I’ll be right back.” He pushed off the bed and hurried into the bathroom. In short order he returned with a foil packet. He stood by the bed and slipped the condom over his hard member. She reached out her hand for him and he climbed back into bed.
Dylan pushed his knee between her legs to open them. She could feel the hardness between her legs. Feeling his body pressed against hers was a unique joy. The tip of his penis pushed inside. It felt as if he would tear her in two. She held her breath as he pushed in deeper. A tear slipped into her hair. Dylan kissed her cheek and stopped moving. “I know it hurts but it’ll only last for seconds.” He gripped her hips and whispered, “You’re so tight. The feeling is amazing.” With one swift movement he was deep inside her.
Lacy let out a little scream from the pain. “Stay with me, baby. The worst is over.” Slowly he began to move on top of her. The pain continued and she wondered if it would always be that way. Maybe she wasn’t meant to enjoy sex. Then everything began to change. He quickened his pace and she began to feel pleasure. She let go of the last traces of resistance and gave in to the sensations. A flutter tickled her belly as the desire to move against him started deep from within. His mouth moved back to hers and his tongue penetrated deeply. The kiss stirred something in her that she didn’t understand. It was more than lust. Her heart pounded so loudly that she couldn’t hear anything. Running her hands down the tight muscles of his back to grab his buttocks, she pulled him in deeper.
He gripped her hips and held her in place as her climax began. It rolled through her like honey. She cried out loud as her orgasm continued. When Dylan came, it was a wondrous sight to behold. He grew very still, closed his eyes, and then began to pound against her. Even though she was completely drained of energy, she did her best to meet his thrusts. He collapsed burying his face in her neck. “That was a first for me.”
“What?”
“I’ve never had a virgin before.” He fell flat on his back and placed his hand on his chest. “I think I’m about to have a heart attack.”
“Now’s not a good time to talk about your past love affairs.”
The room became eerily silent. Cocooned against his body, Lacy watched his eyes deepen, his lids lower. She pushed his hair away from his face. “Don’t go to sleep. Michelle and Tommy should be here any minute.”
“Sure you don’t want me to spend the night? Robertson could return.”
She shoved at his shoulder. “No, you should go.” Suddenly she found herself lying on her stomach, Dylan lying on top of her. He trailed a finger down her spine leaving goose bumps everywhere he touched. He stretched out and she could feel his chest on her back. Hi
s chuckle was warm against her throat. “Are you sure you wouldn’t want to go again? I’m game if you are.”
She would like nothing more than to make love with Dylan again. Intercourse was more than she had ever imagined. The things he made her feel had been glorious. But then she wasn’t naïve enough to believe it meant anything to him. Before she could stop herself she asked, “Are you sleeping with Malory?”
She felt his passion evaporate. He rolled off her and propped up on his elbow. “You know what I do, Lacy. I get close to people so I can find out information. Malory is a source of information. I charm women and just when they trust me, I gain information. It is all part of being undercover.”
“What could you find out from Malory?”
“Lots, she has slept with most of the members of Dark Knight Frat House. Sometimes she does ecstasy before she has sex with some of the men. She’s a fountain of information.”
She had been a fool. All this time she thought he had feelings for her. “Get dressed and get out!”
“Are we back to cold and prickly again?” He gave her a quick kiss on the cheek. “I like you, Lacy. I like you a lot. The most I can offer is we can be lovers.”
She sat up wrapping the sheet around her breasts. “I can’t have a relationship with a man that sleeps with other women.”
“Part of the job description. Don’t pretend you didn’t know that before we had sex.”
Sex. What an ugly little word. It hadn’t been sex to her. It meant more. He threw his legs over the side of the bed and stood. Her eyes admired the corded muscles of his back. She got a good look at his buttocks before he disappeared into the bathroom.
She beat her pillow with her fist. Then she analyzed what had happened between them. Dylan was right. She knew their relationship would never be anymore than friendship. She had no reason to be angry with him.
The power came back on and Lacy closed her eyes against the sudden bright light. She blinked until her eyes adjusted to the brightness.
By the time Dylan stepped out of the bathroom in his wet clothes, she was already dressed in her tee-shirt and shorts and had straightened the bed. He sauntered to her side and took her hand. “The offer still stands if you want me to spend the night.”
“That’s okay. Tommy has been sleeping over for the past few nights. He can stay.” She pulled away from him and stepped back to put some distance between them. “Go home. I don’t want to explain this to Michelle.” She swirled her hand around in a circle. “I don’t think it can be explained.”
“I’ll hang around outside until they return in case Robertson is still in the vicinity.” For the past hour Lacy had completely forgotten about Bret. The only thing that had been on her mind was Dylan.
The moment Dylan removed the safety chain, Tommy and Michelle opened the door and entered. Surprised to find Dylan there, they both looked at him quizzically. Lacy skirted around Dylan. “Someone was standing outside our building tonight watching me. I called Dylan.”
“Was it Bret?”
“I think it was him. I couldn’t see his face because the power was out.” Lacy looked at her watch. “It’s two o’clock. Where have you been?”
Tommy threw his wet jacket on the kitchen counter. “Someone cut my tires. We had to call one of my friends to come and pick us up at the theater. I’ve got to make a trip to the police station in the morning to make a report.”
A wave of fear washed over her. Her first thought was Bret. “Do you think Bret cut your tires?”
“I wouldn’t put it past him.” He placed his hands on Lacy’s shoulders. “The man is dangerous. Why didn’t you call the police?”
With a shrug, Lacy pulled away from Tommy. “Because I didn’t see his face. He would only deny being in the area. I’m sure he already has an alibi. Any one of his frat brothers would lie for him.” If Bret was the culprit that cut Tommy’s tires, then he had something evil planned for her. He wanted to make sure Tommy and Michelle didn’t return and ruin those plans. A shudder shook her to the very core.
Michelle wrapped her arms around Lacy. “Call Josh and see if he can do anything. You can’t go on looking over your shoulder the rest of your life. Something has to be done about Bret.”
“I’ll call him first thing in the morning.” She stepped away from Michelle and took Tommy’s hand. “Sorry about your tires. I hope your insurance will pay for the damage.”
“I’m sure I’m covered.”
Dylan interrupted. “I need to get home and try to get a couple hours of sleep. Now that Tommy and Michelle are here with you, you’ll be safe.”
Too emotional to speak, Lacy nodded her head. Dylan was in a hurry to leave. Was he worried she would make demands because they had slept together? “I’ll see you guys tomorrow.”
Dylan marched straight out the door. The slamming of the door made everything seem so final. Still a bit shaken, Lacy just stood there staring at her feet.
“Are you okay?”
Lacy felt the blush all the way to her toes. It didn’t take Tommy but a second to realize he needed to find a reason to leave the room. “I think I’ll take a shower.” He grabbed his duffle bag that he kept at the foot of Michelle’s bed and disappeared into the bathroom.
A tightness filled Lacy’s chest and throat, then the tears started. Michelle tugged her toward the sofa and pushed her down. Seconds passed, seemed like an eternity before Michelle asked, “Did something happen between you and Dylan?”
Lacy wiped one side of her cheek with her fingers. “I slept with him.”
Michelle gave her a sympathetic smile. “It was inevitable, honey. Sort of hard to miss the way you two look at each other. I’ve known for weeks you had a thing for Dylan. I figured you’d talk when you were ready.”
There wasn’t much Lacy could confide about Dylan. Michelle didn’t know he worked for the FBI. “I don’t think I made a good choice. We are so different.”
Her brow creased. “How so?”
“Trust me. We have nothing in common. I’m a guarded person and Dylan’s personality is more forthcoming.”
Michelle stared at her as if she had lost her mind. “That’s preposterous. You’re not making any sense. Why in tar nation do you think you can’t have a relationship with Dylan is beyond me. He’s a great guy. He was the only man brave enough to get involved when Bret had you behind a locked door. No one else came to your rescue. Explain it to me.”
“I can’t.” It was one of those occasions when Lacy wished they lived in an apartment. She needed privacy. She couldn’t go for a walk because she was afraid Bret might still be lurking outside. Tommy was in the bathroom.
Even though Michelle was her best friend, she couldn’t tell her how she felt about Dylan without confiding that he was an FBI Agent. “I’m not talking about Dylan. It is a closed subject.”
Chapter Eleven
A slight drizzle had Dylan feeling sticky and miserable. His clothes were still damp from earlier in the evening and now the rain was seeping through to his skin causing even more misery. In the distance he could see Horndog on his usual corner. Pulling the hood of his sweatshirt over his head, he peeked over his shoulder before he approached the drug dealer. Horndog stayed up all night dealing drugs and slept during the day. People that didn’t want to risk getting caught buying drugs usually bought their drugs during the early morning hours so they wouldn’t get busted.
Dressed in his usual attire of ripped jeans and grimy shirt, Horndog looked more like a homeless person than a drug dealer. His greasy black hair was matted to his head. The police never paid him much attention and Dylan wouldn’t dream of ratting him out. Horndog’s story was the same as his. He had been abandoned by his mother when he was just a child. Like him, he didn’t know the identity of his father. All Horndog knew, his father was black. Selling drugs was the only thing that kept him from starvation. “Haven’t seen you around for a while.”
“I’ve been busy.” Dylan handed him two one hundred dollar bills. “I n
eed an 8ball.”
Horndog took the money and stuffed it into the pocket of his filthy jeans. He gave Dylan a packet of white powder. “Thank you.”
Curious about his appearance, Horndog asked, “You shaved off your goatee?” He whistled loudly. “Those are some mighty fine threads ya wearin’.”
Dylan nervously ran his hands over his designer jeans. “I’ve been staying with my mom. I cleaned up for her.”
Suspicious, he stated, “Yea, I heard about your mom. Heard she’s sick. How’s she doing?”
“Getting a little better every day.” Dylan turned on his heel intending to leave. He didn’t like being on the streets at such a late hour. The area was infested with gangs who would kill for one-eighth of cocaine. No one would recognize him since he wasn’t dressed in his gang colors of red and black. He would be an easy target.
“What’s your hurry?”
“I’ve got somewhere to be.” He swung around and saluted Horndog. “Catch you later.” He jogged across the road and ducked into an alley. As a precaution he left his Mustang parked over a mile away at a well-lit convenience store. He couldn’t drive into this neighborhood. Someone would carjack him in an instant.
Trash and debris covered the back alley. The stench assailed his nostrils and he broke into a run. Funny, the filth and smell never seemed to bother him before.
Now that he had gotten a glimpse of what it was like to stay in a nice apartment and hang out with decent friends, it would be difficult to go back to his old life. He liked Tommy and Michelle. Most of all he would miss Lacy. It wouldn’t be safe for them to continue their relationship when he went back to gangbanging. If the gang were to discover he was an FBI Agent, they would kill Lacy as an act of revenge. In his line of work, he didn’t need the distraction of a woman he cared about. Distractions got you killed.

Bret adjusted the rearview mirror of his red Jaguar before backing out into the street. He yawned from lack of sleep. It was late when he got back to the frat house. For over an hour he had stood outside Lacy’s dorm hoping to see her. It was worth the wait when she stepped in front of the window to watch the storm. The lightning and thunder only added to her appeal. He almost had an orgasm when she looked right at him. Her terror of seeing him heightened his arousal. He could almost feel her blond hair feather through his fingers. Smell her scent of fear when he fantasized entering her smooth, tight body.
