  “What do you mean by we?” Finley asked.

  Nicole wrapped her arms around Finley, kissing her softly. Finley melted into her, allowing the contact, before backing away.

  “I can’t do this,” Finley said. “I’m not going to have you on the side.” She shook her head. “I’ve loved you since I was fifteen years old. It’s all or nothing with me. You know that.”

  “That’s good,” Nicole murmured, grabbing her hands. “Because I’m never walking away from you again. I filed for divorce the week after you left, and Caitlin and I moved in here.”

  “What?” Finley questioned, slightly stunned.

  “I made Caitlin promise not to say anything when she talked to you.”

  “Why didn’t you say something?”

  “I didn’t know how or what to say. All I know is I never let go. I’ve never stopped loving you. I made a huge mistake by allowing my mother to control my life. Seeing you at that parade made me realize how much I missed you. Being with you that night made me also realize that you still loved me too. I knew it wasn’t too late, that I hadn’t lost you,” Nicole said as a few more tears rolled down her cheek. “I met with my lawyer on Monday and called your mother on my way home. We had a long talk and she told me to bring Caitlin and move in with her.”

  “I…” Finley stumbled for words. She closed her eyes and opened them to make sure she wasn’t dreaming. “I don’t know what to say,” she mumbled.

  “Say you want to be a family again,” Nicole said, smiling through her tears. “I love you, Finley. I belong with you, wherever you are. I always have and I always will.”

  Finley wrapped her arms around Nicole, picking her up off the ground. “I love you so damn much!” she whispered, before kissing her.

  “So that’s a yes?” Nicole grinned.

  “Absolutely. I’m never letting you go again,” Finley replied, kissing her once more.
