“Payton had a miscarriage two weeks ago.” Saying the words hurt, I wasn’t there for her when she needed me the most. She went through the pain of having to have our baby removed from her alone. That’s something that I’ll never be able to make up for.
I didn’t know, but that doesn’t mean that I shouldn’t have been there. I knew that something was wrong. That something had happened. Two weeks I let her suffer alone when I should have gotten my ass in gear and went to her.
“Fuck. Si. Man, I’m sorry.” His voice is gravelly, he feels this hard just as I do.
“Me too. She’s here and I’m not letting her go.” Not again. Never again.
“Good, you two have gone through a lot. It’s time for you to be happy.” I hear chatter in the background, “I’ve got to go, I’ll check in soon. Send Payton my love.”
“Will do. When you return home, make sure you do so with Saya.” I tell him as I head back inside the house.
He chuckles, “I fully intend to.”
We say our goodbyes and when I enter the sitting room I’m glad to see that Payton’s no longer crying and that she and Dahlia are outside on our back porch. My girl has a smile on her face, something made her smile and I’m so grateful for whatever it was. I know she hasn’t had a lot to smile about recently.
I move outside and wrap my arms around Payton, I have the need to constantly touch her, to show her that she’s not alone. “You okay, baby?”
She leans back into my body and her body relaxes, “Yeah, I’m okay. I hate talking about it but I feel bad. Dahlia’s worried about me.”
“She’s not the only one,” I murmur. I’ve been worried about her a lot lately.
“I’m sorry,” she whispers. “Sometimes, I just get stuck in my head.”
I know; I’ve known that she does that for a long time. It’s her coping mechanism. It’s something that we have to work through.
“Do you think the pain will go away?” Her voice is soft, but it’s haunting as hell. “I hate feeling like I’m drowning, that I’m broken.”
My hands tighten around her waist, “It’s going to fade.” I murmur against her ear, “You're not broken, baby, just fractured. I’m going to help piece you back together.”
Doesn’t she know that I’d do anything to help her? That I’d move mountains if it meant she wouldn’t hurt?
“Thank you for sticking with me. The years we’ve spent apart have been due to my insecurities, I truly believed that you cheated on me, had I given you a chance to explain what I witnessed we’d have been together. Instead I pushed you away and lost so much time with together. I’m so sorry,” she whispers, pain lacing her voice.
I’m glad that she realizes that she shouldn’t have pushed me away.
“You should know by now, you’re stuck with me forever.” I’m not letting her go. There’s no more running, no more distance. She’s my forever girl.
“You have no complaints from me. Wherever you are, is where I want to be,” she tells me and I swear I fall deeper for her. “I love you, Silas.”
“Damn, baby.” I grin as I spin her around in my arms, lowering my head and my mouth crashes down against hers.
She clings to me as my tongue sweeps into her mouth and I dominate her with just a kiss.
There’s never been anyone but her. I’ve had countless women but none have even come close.
“Ew,” Tyler says in disgust breaking through our lust filled haze. “Si, I don’t need to see you do that sh…”
“Tyler,” Dahlia says sternly.
“Stuff with my sister,” Tyler continues as though he wasn’t going to say the word shit.
I reluctantly pull away from Payton’s mouth, her eyes alight with humor. “Sorry, dude,” I comment as I try and hide my smirk.
“Keep your PDA to a minimum. Especially around me,” he grumbles. There’s no heat in his words, just like me, he’s just glad to see Payton smiling again.
“I think it’s nice,” Mary says with a sigh. “Payton’s finally happy again, don’t rain on their parade. Besides, having her with Silas means she’ll be able to see us more.”
Tyler nods in agreement, “You’re right, but I don’t need to see him with his tongue down her throat.”
I laugh, “I’ll do my best.” I glance at Dahlia and see she’s smiling widely as she watches all the Moore children be happy. “Are you staying for dinner?”
Dahlia shakes her head, “As much as I’d love to, we can’t.” She glances at Payton. “Now that you’re here, you’ll come to dinner?”
Payton grins, “Yes, and I’ll even make sure Silas is there too.”
“Make sure you do, it’ll be nice having a family dinner again.” She sighs wistfully, “Kids, it’s time to say goodbye.”
The whining starts, none of them want to leave, but with promises from both Payton and I that we’ll see them again, they reluctantly say their goodbyes.
As soon as the door’s closed, I push her against it. It’s been too fucking long since we’ve been intimate. Her eyes dilate as her chest rises and falls rapidly. I’m not the only one that’s affected by the distance, I’m relieved that she’s finally here and in my arms.
“Are you ready for this, baby?” I don’t want to push her, but I’m dying to be inside of her. If she’s not ready then I’ll wait. It’ll kill me, but I’m not a complete asshole.
“Yes, oh God yes,” she groans. “Please, Silas, I need you; it’s been too long.” Her eyes are full of need.
I don’t need any more encouragement than that. I lift her into my arms, her hands tangle in my hair and she brings my mouth down to hers. I walk us to the bedroom. With each step, my cock grows harder. She’s so fucking sexy, the way she’s tugging at my hair as she pulls me closer to her mouth.
I lay her on the bed and strip her out of her clothes. My cock is painfully hard as I stare at her beautiful naked body. It’s been too fucking long since I worshipped her body. Even though she’s lost a lot of weight she’s still gorgeous. There will never be a time that I’ll not find her attractive. My girl is sexy as hell.
I drop to my knees and smirk at her sharp intake of breath, I inhale her scent. Fuck, there’s nothing better. As soon as my tongue touches her pussy, she’s panting. I don’t stop, wanting to show her just how fucking much I’ve missed her. When I insert a finger inside of her she cries out. Her body writhes in pleasure as I try to bring her to new heights.
“Come for me, baby,” I demand and she does, fucking spectacularly.
“Please, Silas, I need you,” she begs. Her nails dig into my skin as her hands roam my body
I couldn’t deny her even if I wanted to, I position myself at her pussy and push into her. She’s tight, so fucking tight and I love that I’m the only one that has ever had her. “Fuck, baby,” I growl as her hands grip my ass checks, pulling me closer to her.
The mewling she’s making as I thrust harder into her spurs me on. My girl loves what I do to her, the way she comes apart at just my touch.
Her warm, wet, tight pussy tightens around my cock as I grip her hips and thrust harder into her. A sheen of sweat beads my forehead, she’s rocking back against me, meeting me thrust for thrust. Fuck, this girl will be my undoing.
I can’t imagine never having her, been there, done that. Never again. This is perfect. This is where I’m meant to be, buried inside of her.
“God, Pay. Feels so fucking good,” I growl as I fuck her harder. “Next time will be slow.”
She shakes her head, “This is us, Silas. We’re raw and passionate.” She pants, “Always have been.”
“Next time I’m going to make love to you,” I promise her. “It’s going to be slow and fucking torturous.”
“Silas!” She screams at my words as she tightens around my cock, her walls clenching as she detonates. Her hands pull at the sheets beneath her.
“Oh fuck, baby, I’m going to come!” I grunt as I keep up my relentless pace.
“Mmhhmmm,” she murmu
rs, still lost in her orgasm.
“Fuck,” I growl as I see stars while I come inside of her.
Once my cock softens, I pull out of her and collapse onto the bed, pulling her beside me and kissing her head. “I’m not letting you go, Pay.”
I can’t do it. It’ll kill me if she goes again.
“Good,” she sighs, “I don’t want to go anywhere. You’re where I’m happiest.”
And fuck if she’s not right. We’ve both proved that we can survive without the other, but nothing is as good as when I’m with her.
“Back with me,” I whisper.
“What’s that?” she asks sleepily.
“Where you belong, baby,” I tell her. “Back with me.”
“Always,” she replies without hesitation.
Chapter 27
TWO MONTHS LATER
Payton
“I can’t believe you’re here,” I say for the fifth time in the past hour.
I grin at my best friend, it’s been too damn long since we’ve seen each other. My fault, not hers. I was so consumed with grief that I couldn’t face anyone for days until I flew across the country to Seattle. And only now am I slowly able to claw back from the heartache that shattered my life.
She rolls her eyes at me, “Where else would I have been? You said girl’s night. I’d have killed you if you had it without me.”
I laugh, God, I really have missed her. My eyes mist as I think about just how much I’ve been a shitty friend.
“NO!” she yells. “Don’t you dare start crying. Silas will kill me.” Her eyes darting around the house as though she expects him to jump out at any moment.
I laugh, “Don’t worry he’s not here. Tonight is girls only. The other ladies are coming over and we’re all getting ready here.”
Her eyes widen, “Who’s all?”
I shrug, “I’m not entirely sure. I know that Natalie is coming, as is her best friend Jules, and Megan but other than that, I’m not really sure.” I don’t really mind, it’ll be nice to meet some of the other women.
“Okay, so who’s Natalie, Jules, and Megan?” She sits down on the sofa, her black hair tied up in a topknot.
“Natalie is Luke’s wife, she’s been so lovely to me.” Bianca smiles, and I know that she’ll love Natalie for that alone. “Jules is her best friend and she’s Will’s sister.”
A furrow comes between her brows, “Will as in Will Montgomery?”
I smile, “The very one, also he’s married to Megan, who is Leo’s sister.” I remind her, we’ve met Megan a few times. She’s sweet and I’ve recently found out that she’s the nurse that works at the children’s hospital.
Her lips thin, “Please tell me that Tate isn’t going to be anywhere near this girls night.”
“What happened?” She’s never been this way about a man before. Tate may be an asshole but he’s gotten under her skin and I’m not sure if it’s a good thing.
“He told me that he doesn’t think I’m fat.” She rolls her eyes but I can see the hurt in them. “But he says stupid shit like, oh you eating a burger, should you be eating that?”
My mouth opens in shock, why the hell would he say that?
She sighs, “We were talking about the next Tiger shoot that we’ll be doing.” I nod, it’s in a month and I’m looking forward to it, I haven’t had any shoots in a while. “I showed him what I was going to be wearing and he asked if I was going to be able to fit into it.”
I’m going to kill him.
“He won’t be here,” I vow and if he turns up, he’ll have to get through me. No one makes my friend feel like shit and Tate has done it more than enough. “Don’t answer his texts anymore. When did you see him?”
She bites her lip, “He came to see me in New York.”
Wow, I have missed a lot.
“Nothing happened, we just talked until he was an ass. I need a drink,” she says as she gets to her feet. “I’m making purple rains.”
I follow her to the kitchen just as the doorbell rings. “That’ll be the girls.”
Opening the door, I’m stunned to see Samantha and Megan standing there with smiles on their faces. “Surprise.” Sam grins.
“Get in here!” I practically yell, it’s been almost a year since I’ve seen her. “Please tell me that you’re here for girl’s night?”
She nods, “Of course.” She walks into my house, her eyes taking everything in.
I pull Meg in behind her and hug her, knowing that Sam has boundaries. “How are you Meg?” I ask as I shut the door behind her.
“I’m good. God, I’m so glad that you and Silas worked things out. Are you happy?”
I nod, “Yeah, it’s about time,” I say with sigh, Silas and I have had a rocky road to say the least.
Sam grins, “I’m happy for you.” She winks at me, “Imagine my surprise when the girl’s tell me that we’re going out and that you’ll be here.”
“Don’t forget about me,” Bianca says from behind Sam.
Sam spins on her heel and grins even wider, “I should have known. You two were always inseparable.”
We laugh. “Drinks?” Bianca asks.
Sam glances at our drinks with a disgusted look on her face. “I’ll get them. The others should be here soon.”
Meg shakes her head as she watches as Bianca and Sam talk about alcoholic drinks. “I’m really sorry about the baby,” Meg murmurs. “Will told me, I was worried about you,” she says softly as she reaches for my hand.
“Thank you. I’m doing better,” I assure her and I am. After having my break down and flying here to Seattle, I’ve slowly but surely started to heal. I’m not one hundred percent, but I’m better. Some days I think about her and the pain hits me like a freight train, but those days are few and far between.
True to Sam’s word, the others come soon after. Luke drops Nat and Jules off, Matt swings by with Nic, Brynna, and Stacy, then Levi Crawford brings Starla, Joy, and Lia.
The girls that fill my house are sweet and I love them already. Not only do I, but so does Bianca. It’s good that there’s people like us, normal and down to earth in this world. The introductions are made and it’s hard to keep track of who’s who, but I manage it.
Jules’ is married to the hottie that is Nate McKenna, Jules is gorgeous, she’s smart, feisty and funny as hell and is Will’s sister. Nic is married to Matt who’s Will’s brother. Nic owns a cupcake store, one that has the best cupcakes on the damn planet. If I could, I’d eat the entire store out in a matter of hours, but I’m trying to stay in shape.
Stacy is a book blogger, I’ve yet to see her recommendations as it’s been a while since I’ve read a book and if I were to look at her to be read list, I’m pretty sure I’d have an anxiety attack. Stacy’s also married to a Montgomery brother. The eldest one, Isaac. Stacy’s cousin is Brynna, who is married to another Montgomery brother, Caleb.
Starla is a popstar, probably just as famous, if not more so than Leo Nash and he’s the biggest damn rock star on the earth. She’s gorgeous and her smile lights up the entire room, she’s married to her head of security Levi Crawford. What the girls have told me is that he used to be an officer with Seattle PD, before he met Starla and fell head over heels in love with her. I’m not surprised, it’s easy to see why the man fell hard.
Joy is married to Levi’s brother Jace, Joy’s a veterinarian and Levi’s the chief of surgery along with one of the best Cardiothoracic surgeons in the country. Amelia is also a Montgomery, she’s their cousin and is married to Wyatt Crawford, although she’s told us to call her Lia.
They’re one big happy family and have included Bianca and I into their plans for this evening.
The drinks are flowing as we get ready. “I never thought I’d say this, but I think Bianca has better tits than Brynna,” Jules blurts out and I bite my lip so the laughter doesn’t spill out.
“What?” Bianca asks with wide eyes.
Nat, Meg, and Stacy glance between the two sets of breasts as t
hough they’re thinking it through.
Brynna doesn’t seem to be surprised that there’s talk of her breasts nor that we’re all staring at them. “I agree,” she says with a firm nod. “Bianca has probably the nicest rack I’ve ever seen.”
Nat sighs, “God, you’re so lucky.”
Bianca relaxes and lets out a little laugh, “You’re welcome to have mine anytime you like. I’m sick to death of people telling me I’m fat because I have big boobs and wide hips.”
Once again I want to kill Tate. He’s really hurt my best friend.
“Whose ass am I kicking?” Sam demands to know but Bee just shrugs and goes into the kitchen.
All eyes come to me and I sigh, “Tate Hemmington. Bee really likes him but he’s made some comments that have really hurt.”
Jules’ eyes harden, “What comments?”
“The first time he said that he thought models were meant to be thin.”
All the women have the same look on their faces, their eyes filled with fire and their lips thinned. They look how I feel. Tate’s a lucky man he’s not here.
“Then he went to New York and said a few other things, they’ve stuck with her and I hate him for hurting her.” The anger in my voice seems to spur them on.
“I’m going to kick his ass,” Jules growls.
Meg shakes her head, “I’m telling Will, maybe he can get a few guys to hit him during practice.”
I smirk, these ladies are blood thirsty, I love it.
“I’m fine, I’ve learned to deal with this my entire life,” Bianca says coming back into the sitting room. “Are we getting dressed?”
I let her change the subject knowing that she hates the attention to be firmly on her, same as me.
“I have the perfect dress for you, Lia,” I tell her as she’s the only one that’s close to my size.
Bee smiles and claps her hands, “I bought loads of dresses with me, Brynna. I have something that would fit you.”
Both Brynna’s and Lia’s eyes light up. Lia’s a fantastic make up blogger, she’s famous in her own right and kills it with every video she posts. Bianca and I follow her, and we take every tip she posts.
