Worthy of Love? Page 15

by J. Lea

“Jesus, you’re hot!” He licked his lips, then pulled the bottom between his teeth, lust in his eyes.

“Like it? I bought it just for you,” I said seductively, and turned around, so he could see the whole package.

“I love it.” With his index finger, he started to caress my skin from my shoulder to my collarbone, past my bra, and down to my hips. He then suddenly pressed me to his hard body and kissed me with passion. “Your skin is so soft,” he murmured between kisses. “I could easily lose myself in you.”

“I want you to lose yourself inside me,” I whispered. I was ready. I wanted him badly, I wanted to give him the whole me.

“Lori,” he said carefully, and closed his eyes.

“I know, I’m still your student,” I pouted.

He nodded. “I want you, don’t get me wrong. I can’t hide how much I want you,” he pointed to his bulge. “But we have to wait.” I nodded reluctantly. “Well, there are other things we can do.” There was a spark in his eyes.

I helped him take off his shirt, taking a few long moments to just look and admire his body. He was perfect. Every inch of his body was hard and shaped. His breathing began to grow heavy, as I was touching him. Our eyes met, and his were dark with lust. I bit my lower lip. With his thumb, he freed it from my firm hold, and then he sucked it into his mouth.

“You’re so sweet,” he mumbled, before he kissed me like never before. He devoured me like I was the last morsel of food in the world, then he took off my bra. My panties and his sweatpants followed. We were covered in sweat in no time, our breathing labored. His eyes bored into me as his fingers slowly descended to my center, causing me to gasp. “Mmm, so smooth,” he groaned.

“Parker,” I let out a moan. “Oh, God!”

“I know, baby.” He showered kisses on my throat, his fingers never stopping stroking me between my legs.

“Don’t stop,” I begged him, writhing underneath him. “More.” It didn’t take long for me to explode under his skillful fingers. Before I could fully regain my senses, his lips sealed over mine, but this time, our kiss was gentler and calmer. “It was incredible,” I said breathlessly.

His steel hard erection pressed against my thigh, and I wanted to make him feel as heavenly as he’d made me feel a minute ago. Just as I reached down, Parker climbed off the bed and disappeared into the bathroom without a word. The shower turned on, and I scowled because I didn’t know what had just happened. Why wouldn’t he let me pleasure him? Fifteen minutes later, he was back, a towel around his hips, droplets of water sliding down his chest. He looked so delicious I wanted a bite of him. He pulled a fresh pair of boxers out of the top dresser drawer, his back turned to me, as he dropped the towel to the floor, revealing his firm, muscled butt. He tugged on his boxers as I watched him with a raised eyebrow. I was still lying in the same spot on the bed as when he’d left me earlier, with a blanket covering me. He climbed in beside me, still not saying a word.

“Why did you do that?” I asked him.

“Do what?” He kissed the spot behind my ear.

“Left when I wanted to return the favor.”

  “I had to.”

  I scrunched my forehead. “I don’t understand.”

He pulled me to his chest, so we were spooning. “If I didn’t leave then, it would be impossible to resist you. Lori, you have no idea what an impact you have on me. I can barely restrain myself around you. I want you so desperately it hurts. But I’m trying to be a gentleman, and I’m trying to do the right thing. Even kissing you is forbidden.”

I turned to face him. “I don’t want you to be a gentleman.”

  He smiled. “Patience, Lori.”

Stucking my lower lip out, I gave him a puppy dog look.

“Don’t do that,” he said, and shook his head, still smiling widely. He kissed my temple and said, “I’m glad you’re here.”

  “I’m glad I’m here, too.”

I woke up in an unfamiliar bed, but it didn’t take long for me to remember where I was. Parker wasn’t in the bed with me. He probably took King out for a walk, and started preparing breakfast. I stretched my arms with a wide grin on my face. It felt like I was in a fairytale. Stretching again, I slid from under the covers. Parker’s T-shirt was lying on the floor, the one I took off him a night before. It smelled like him, and I couldn’t help myself but to squeeze it to me, take a whiff, before I pulled it over my head. After I freshened up in the bathroom, and brushed my teeth, I checked if my hair system was still in place. Thank God for hair systems. If I still wore a wig, I definitely wouldn’t sleep over at Parker’s. Wigs were hot, itchy, and uncomfortable to wear. The hair system was airy, so I could wear it up to a month, which was a big plus when I found myself in situations like this one.

Every single day, I told myself today was going to be the day I tell Parker about my condition. And, every single day, I chickened out and kept my mouth shut. I was selfish, he deserved to know, but on the other hand, I was finally happy. I didn’t want to let this new-found happiness out of my grasp. At least, not for a while.

When I joined Parker in the kitchen, he was sitting at the kitchen island, sipping coffee and reading the newspaper with his glasses on.

“Morning,” I said cheerfully, and caught his attention instantly. He rose to his feet, walked to me, and wrapped his arms around my waist.

“Morning, beautiful,” he said before he kissed my lips. “Mmm, I could easily get used to this.”

  “What?”

“You, first thing in the morning, dressed only in my T-shirt.”

“Soon,” I stepped on my toes and kissed him.

  “You want some coffee?”

“Do you even need to ask?” I cheekily replied before sitting in the seat he occupied moments ago. While he was pouring me coffee, I asked him, “Why didn’t you wake me up? I’d have helped you make breakfast.”

“You slept so peacefully, I didn’t want to wake you. Besides, your snoring was so adorable, I didn’t have the heart to disturb your dreams.”

My mouth formed an ‘o’, and my eyes rounded. “I don’t snore!” I leaned forward to smack him in the shoulder.

“Maybe it was King, then,” he shrugged, chuckling.

“Maybe?” I raised an eyebrow at Parker. “King, help me out here, buddy. You snored, right?” King lazily raised his head, harrumphed, and slowly walked over to me. “See, it was him.” I patted his head.

  “Maybe,” Parker smirked.

  “Shut up!” I exclaimed laughingly.

We sat down at the table and peacefully shared our breakfast. It felt nice, cozy. Having breakfast with him seemed as if we’d been doing it every day.

“What do you want to do today?” he asked.

“We don’t really have many choices, do we? We could watch a movie.”

“Do you want to go somewhere?”

“You mean, like go out? In public? Are you sure?”

“Yes. I want to take you somewhere. It’s so exasperating we have to hide, when I want nothing else but to parade you in front of the whole world.”

My heart sang at his words. “I know what you mean. I literally have to bite my tongue whenever I’m talking with my mom or Elias.”

“We could take a ride,” he suggested, and his cell phone beeped on the coffee table.

“Okay,” I jumped up happily. I didn’t want to lose the opportunity to take a trip, even though we’d have to drive several hours to a place where no one knew us.

Parker took the phone in his hand, and read the text he’d received. His eyebrows shot together, and his lips thinned into a straight line.

  “What’s wrong?”

No answer. He just typed furiously on the screen. A few texts exchanged later, he finally lifted his head from his phone. I knew it wasn’t good.

“I’m sorry, Lori, but we’re gonna have to postpone our trip.” My smile fell. I was disappointed, but that was life. “My family is coming to visit me.”

  “Your fa
mily?”

He nodded. “I was supposed to go see them this week, but I made excuses and told them I was busy, so I could be with you. Now they’ve decided to come over. For the whole week!” He scratched the back of his neck, and gave me a pleading look.

“When will they be here? Do we still have time?”

“Hours, minutes. I don’t know. I only know they’re already on their way.”

“Okay. I guess I better get going.” Bummed, I stood up and started walking toward his room, but his hand on my shoulder stopped me.

  “Lori…”

“I get it, Parker. We have to keep our relationship secret, even from our families.” I didn’t have the strength to look him in the eyes, so I focused my stare on the door of his bedroom.

“Lori, hear me out, please.” I shook my head. Parker turned me around, and we were standing so close there wasn’t any space between us. “I really wish you could meet my family. And I promise, you will, soon. I will proudly show you off to everyone. You have my word.”

I nodded solemnly. “I wish I could introduce you to my family, too. Someday…” I walked to the room, threw my things into my bag, and returned to the living room.

“I’m ready,” I told him, and Parker nodded his head.

“I don’t want you to go,” he said and hugged me.

“I know, but we don’t have any other choice.”

That day, I arrived home in low spirits. I knew I wouldn’t be able to see Parker for a while, since his family was at his house the whole week. Mom and Tyler were away, skiing the white slopes of their skiing resort, so I had nothing better to do than clean the apartment from top to bottom. When I finished, it was already dark outside. Grabbing the phone to text Elias, I noticed one already waiting for me.

Parker: I miss you. My folks are driving me crazy :/

Lori: Better them than me ;)

Parker: What are you doing now?

Lori: Thinking about you :) Thinking about last night. And imagining your fingers running down my bare skin…

Parker: Jesus, Lori. You want me to parade my hard-on in front of my parents?

Lori: That sounds like an interesting sight to see :)

  Parker: You’re so evil :)

Lori: When do I get to see you again?

Parker: Hopefully soon. Sorry about the whole family thing. I hoped we’d get more time to ourselves.

  Lori: It’s not your fault.

Parker: I know. But I still feel bad. What are your plans for the night?

Lori: I was just about to text Elias to come over. I’m bored.

Parker: What would he be doing over there? I don’t want you alone in a room with him.

Lori: Don’t be silly. Elias is my friend. Besides, he has a boyfriend now.

  Parker: I don’t care.

Lori: I like it when you’re jealous. No worries, I would never cheat on you.

Parker: I can’t wait to get my hands on you again. I can’t get enough of your sweet body.

I bit my lower lip as I read his last text, and my heart jumped in my chest. I thought back to his lips, tongue, hands, and how skillful he was with all his body parts. I missed every single part of him. I missed our closeness, and craved days like yesterday, when I could fall asleep in his arms. I wondered if we’d get another chance like that again. A few hours with him weren’t enough for me anymore.

Lori: So do I. Enjoy time with your family x

I hesitated over the letter ‘x’, but I still added the kiss in the end of the text. A moment later, my phone beeped.

  Parker: x

Just the sight of that one letter, and it’s meaning, sent my heart aflutter. I ended up spending the evening alone, and went to bed early.

Holly picked me up the next morning, since I was without a car. During the drive, she told me that our co-worker, Spencer, finally softened her heart, and she gave him a chance. She was still guarded, but she slowly opened up to him. She even told me she was planning on introducing him to her daughter, which was a giant step for her. She needed a long time to pick herself up after her ex-husband cheated on her. I was happy for Spencer and Holly. They deserved happiness. And he was a really nice guy. I knew he would treat her well.

At the restaurant, we prepared for our shift; we folded the napkins and set them on the tables along with the chopsticks. A few people were already gathered in front of the entrance since it was brunch time. As soon as the clock hit eleven, one of the security guys unlocked the door, and we hurried over to the guests to take their orders.

“Did you see the hottie at table five?” Holly asked me a couple of hours later. I was printing out a receipt for a guest.

“No. I didn’t even have the chance to look at my own customers. So, you say he’s cute?”

“Cute? Um, no. He’s unbelievably yummy. Look for yourself.” She grabbed my hips and moved me slightly to the left, so I could see the table where a man and a woman were seated. Their heads were down, reading the menu.

  “I can’t see him,” I said.

“Wait, wait.” She stood beside me, standing on her toes in anticipation, and waited for the man to raise his gaze. “Here you go.” She spoke so loudly that I had to cover my ear.

When my eyes found the man again, my knees buckled. “What is he doing here?”

Holly looked at me with a puzzled expression. “You know him?”

I nodded slowly. “He teaches my German class.”

“He’s your teacher?” she gaped. “Lucky you. When I was in high school, my teachers definitely didn’t look anything like that.” She waved her hand up and down in front of her. “If they did, I’d probably have studied more.” We laughed out loud.

I gathered the woman beside him must have been his sister, since his family was visiting.

“I had the same reaction when I first saw him.” I picked up the dirty plates from the table four businessmen had occupied earlier. When I returned from the kitchen with a fresh tablecloth, Holly was still standing in the same spot with her eyes glued to Parker. I shook my head, and smiled at her. “Don’t you have anything better to do than drool over him? Like, go over to Spencer and undress him?”

“Nuh-uh,” she replied with a grin on her face.

We polished the cutlery, and when we finished, my eyes wandered to Parker again. I treasured every moment I could see him, even for a brief moment. I missed him already. But, what I saw when I looked back to his table threw me off guard. He was passionately kissing the blonde that I thought was his sister. No sister would kiss her brother like that. His hand was in her hair, and they seemed completely at ease with one another. Swallowing thickly, I tried to clear the knot in my throat. Only when a waiter approached with their food, did they unglue their lips. Parker lovingly placed his hand on top of hers, and looked at her with dovey eyes. I felt tears prickling my eyelids.

“I can’t believe he lied to me,” I muttered to myself.

  “What?” Holly asked.

“Nothing. Um, I have to use the restroom. Could you take over my tables in the meantime?”

  “Sure. Everything okay?”

  “Peachy,” I spat out.

I slammed shut the bathroom door behind me. I was hurt and angry. I thought we had something special, but apparently I was wrong. I felt like a discarded toy. Leaning on the sink with both my hands, I shifted from one foot to another. I didn’t want to cry, but tears still spilled over. When I finally thought I got my fairytale, it turned into a nightmare. I didn’t want to be insignificant. I wanted to be everything to Parker, but apparently, I wasn’t even close enough.

“How could he do this to me? And how dare he bring her to the place I work at?” I slammed my fist into a stall door, so it slammed against the partition. “When will you finally learn, Lori? Men are bastards.” I leaned over the sink again, and looked at myself in the mirror. My eyes were rimmed red from crying. Angrily, I reached over to grab a few paper towels to try and fix the mess on my face. “Don’t cry
over him, he’s not worth it,” I comforted myself. Then, I shook my head. “Great, I’m talking to myself now.” I rolled my eyes at the reflection in the mirror, trying to collect myself enough to appear normal again when I returned to the front part of the restaurant. I took a deep breath to calm myself, fixed my clothes, and returned to work. Even though I tried my hardest to ignore the couple at table five, my eyes betrayed me. They kept glancing their way. When they kissed again, I felt nauseous. I spun around on my heels, and rushed behind the bar, so I could put myself back together.

“Are you okay?” Holly ran to me when she saw how upset I was.

“Yes, I just felt dizzy for a moment. But I’m fine now, thanks.” I made an excuse.

“Do you need to grab some fresh air?”

“No, no, it’s okay. I’m feeling better now.” I wasn’t, but I knew I was strong enough to survive it. Not right away, but with time.

Three days later, I was still a mess. Parker texted me every single day, but I didn’t bother replying. I found it weird he kept saying he missed me, even though he was undoubtedly busy with his blonde. Yet his texts were becoming more and more frantic.

Parker: Why won’t you reply? Did I do something wrong?

  Parker: Is everything okay?

  Parker: Where are you?

Parker: Lori, talk to me, please.

When texts weren’t enough anymore, he started calling. I didn’t answer. The hurt was still too fresh. The next morning, a new text came in.

Parker: If you don’t reply, I’m coming over. I need to make sure you’re okay. I miss you.

I thought about replying, and demanding for him to stop bothering me, that I knew about his blonde, but I changed my mind, and called Elias instead.

“Hey!” I said when he finally answered.

“Do you know what time it is?” his sleepy voice came through. “I’m still sleeping.”

I checked the clock, and saw it was only eight o’clock. I was up for almost two hours. “I’m sorry. Go back to sleep. I’ll call you later.” I heard the mattress squeak in the background.
