“I’ve never surfed before,” Jamie admitted.

“Then I’ll have to teach you,” he said winking.

Jamie had an image of Ben emerging from the water, dripping wet. She blushed and looked away.

  “What?” he asked.

“I would like that,” she smiled.

“I could teach you other things too Jamie Redding,” he said huskily, his intentions clear. “You want to get out of here?”

  “Yes,” she whispered.

“I don’t live that far from here,” Ben said quietly.

She didn’t know what was wrong with her, she had never been so cavalier in her partners before but the truth was she had thought of this moment for weeks. As they drove, Jamie wondered if she was crazy to be going home with him.

A moment of guilt about Phil passed quickly when he placed his hand on her leg. He began rubbing her thigh and Jamie closed her eyes as he moved further up her dress. Involuntarily, her legs parted slightly at his touch. Ben’s finger’s rubbed her through her lacy panties and Jamie could feel herself growing wet. His fingers moved past the fabric and found what he was searching for. He plunged a finger deep inside of her and began fingering her. He knew what he was doing and Jamie found herself grinding against him. He placed another finger in her pussy and Jamie was dripping, her panties soaked. He rubbed her clit bringing her to orgasm all over his hand. Jamie moaned.

Ben had pulled up to a building not far from Jamie’s condo and parked in the underground garage. He took Jamie’s hand and led her to the elevator.

As soon as Ben unlocked the door to his apartment, he reached for Jamie. As he kissed her, her hands traced the contours of his heavily muscled chest. When she touched his perfectly defined abs, she stopped but Ben took her hand and guided her to his already erect penis. Jamie massaged him through his jeans, her breathing heavy. Ben grabbed her ass and pulled her towards him. Flustered Jamie broke the kiss.

“Do you want this?” he asked her.

“Yes,” Jamie said reaching up to kiss him again.

He pulled off her dress as she tugged his t-shirt over his head. Unbelievably fast they were undressed, their clothes leaving a trail to the bathroom. Ben turned the shower on and pulled Jamie in with him. With the water cascading over them, Jamie sunk to her knees and began licking his hard cock. Ben leaned against the shower wall, his hands in her soft hair guiding her. She sucked him deep, alternating between slow plunges and long licks. Ben had his eyes closed but then suddenly he looked at her and began thrusting back, Jamie choking a little. She liked it and moved with him.

Ben helped her back up to standing and began sucking on her tits, hard. She liked his aggressiveness and she called out his name. He touched her with his fingers again and when she started writhing Ben kneeled down and put one leg over his shoulder. He began probing Jamie with his tongue. She held on to his shoulder for support. Once again he brought her to orgasm quickly. Ben laughed and stood up pulling her close, he kissed her deeply and Jamie wound her hands into his long hair pulling him to her.

“I want you inside of me,” Jamie moaned softly.

Ben picked her up and swung her over his shoulder. They left the shower, laughing, still soaking wet and collapsed onto his bed. He laid Jamie on her back and he glided his cock into her. He fucked her hard and fast, Jamie begging him to go deeper, harder. It was like she was hearing a stranger speaking in her voice.

Ben flipped her over and began plowing deep into her. Jamie meeting every thrust with one of her own. He held on to her hips for more leverage and then he smacked her on her ass, hard. She couldn’t believe how turned on she was and she called out his name in pleasure. Their sex got more aggressive and finally they climaxed together. Jamie lay on Ben’s chest spent. After a few minutes she regained her breath and sat up looking for her clothes. She remembered that she had left them in the hallway and was making her way to the door to retrieve it.

“What are you doing?” Ben asked from the bed.

“Looking for my dress,” Jamie answered.

  “Why?” he asked.

“Because I can’t drive home naked,” she replied.

“Jamie spend the night. It’s late. Plus, I’m not done with you yet,” he said laughing.

Jamie bit her lip, thinking. Finally, she got back in bed, kissing him on his chest. Then she whispered in his ear.

“I’m not done with you either.”

  *****

When Jamie awoke in the next day her thighs hurt. It was a moment before she realized where she was. She smiled remembering her morning with Ben. It was incredible.

“Good morning sleepyhead,” Ben said from the door.

“What time is it?” Jamie asked glancing at her watch.

  “Almost three,” he said.

“Why didn’t you wake me up?” Jamie groaned.

“You looked so sweet sleeping in my bed,” Ben replied.

Jamie retrieved her things. She rummaged through her purse until she found what she was looking for. A toothbrush. When she emerged from the bathroom, Ben had coffee waiting for her which she accepted gratefully.

“I wish you would have woken me up earlier. I should get going,” she said.

“So when will I see you again?” Ben asked.

  “See me again?” Jamie echoed.

“Yes. You do want to see me again I hope,” he said.

“I’ll call you,” Jamie said noncommittally.

Jamie dropped Ben off at his car before heading home. They shared a long passionate kiss before she departed. When Jamie got home, Callie was in the living room sitting among heaps of fabric.

  “Hey,” she said cheerfully.

“Hi,” Jamie said. “Um, what are you doing?”

“Making a dress,” Callie said cheerfully.

“And you are making a dress because?” Jamie asked confused.

“Kale invited me to the orchestra. It’s black-tie,” she explained.

“Then why aren’t you buying a dress?” Jamie asked intrigued now.

“Because I want something special. I bought a sewing machine and everything. It should be delivered Monday,” Callie exclaimed excitedly.

Jamie smiled. It was nice to see Callie making a dress. When they were younger she would make things all the time hoping to impress her mother. Really nice things. In Jamie’s opinion, Callie was wasting her talent.

“The fabric is really pretty. I like the red one,” Jamie said.

“I was thinking the red too. But ah speaking of fabric…is that the same dress you were wearing last night?” she said laughing.

“Yes,” Jamie said making a face.

  “Nice,” Callie said giggling.

“I’m going to go take a shower,” Jamie said grinning back.

  *****

Jamie called Ben a few days later and they made plans to go out the following Saturday. He requested Jamie wear jeans or something sensible and sneakers. The only sneakers that she had were the ones she wore to the gym so she and Callie went shopping that Friday.

What kind of date required sneakers as footwear she wondered? It turned out that he wanted to take her zip-lining. Something Jamie had never done or wanted to try before. He finally convinced her and she was glad that he did. It was exhilarating. An adrenaline rush. They ended up having sex afterwards in his car. After that they returned to his apartment for another round of sweat inducing sex.

She had had an amazing time with Ben. He was hilarious to the point her sides hurt from laughing all day. He was also amazing in bed. He liked aggressive sex and Jamie found herself reveling in it as well. She found that she enjoyed light smacking and hair pulling. The sex was indisputably intense and hot. He made her feel like a goddess in bed and she reveled in her new loss of inhibitions. She hopped back in bed with Ben, ready for another round she playfully bit down on his shoulder. Later as they lay exhausted but sated Ben asked her a question.

“What are you doing Wednesday night?” he asked.

  T
his was unexpected. She had already made plans with Phil.

“I have a work thing Wednesday but I’m free on Thursday,” she said carefully.

“I can’t on Thursday. I have a date,” Ben said.

“A date?” Jamie said pulling away from him, a little taken aback.

“Yes,” he said evenly. “Is that an issue?”

Jamie thought about it. She couldn’t be upset really. Wasn’t she dating both Ben and Phil?

“No. I guess it’s just a little shocking.”

  Ben sat up.

“Jamie I thought we both agreed that we didn’t want anything serious,” he said looking at her trying to gauge her feelings.

“I don’t. Actually I’m seeing someone else too,” she admitted. “I’m seeing him Wednesday.”

Ben laughed. It wasn’t the reaction that she was expecting.

“Jamie there’s nothing wrong with that. You looked so guilty when you said that. I’ve dated several women at once before. I’m dating you and someone else. She knows about you and she’s okay with it. Right now we’re getting to know each other. Having fun.”

“She knows about us?” Jamie questioned.

“Yes. I’ve been dating her for a few months now. I’m sorry I should have told you sooner. I honestly didn’t expect the other day to go down the way it did. Is this still okay with you?” he asked.

Jamie thought about it and then she nodded. She had a few questions but at the end of the day she felt okay with Ben dating both her and another woman. She had to be honest, she didn’t want to stop seeing him. The sex was off the charts and she had fun with him. So they agreed that they would take it one day at a time until they either wanted to become exclusive or the arrangement didn’t work for them anymore.

After her date she came home to find Callie in the third bedroom which had recently been converted to her workroom for the dress she was working on.

“You’re up late,” she said standing at the door.

“So are you. I take it things are going well with Phil?” Callie asked.

  “Er…”

  “Er?”

“Remember the guy Ben I told you about?” Jamie said biting her lip.

“Jamie Redding. Did you sleep with the club guy?” Callie asked in mock outrage.

“Yes. I know. I’m a terrible person,” she said sitting down.

“Why are you a terrible person?” Callie asked.

  “Because of Phil,” Jamie said.

  “I thought Phil didn’t want a relationship?”

  “He doesn’t.”

“Then you aren’t exactly cheating on him if you aren’t exclusive,” Callie pointed out.

“Yes, but still. Ben knows that I’m seeing someone else. He’s okay with it.”

  “Wow. That’s…mature of him.”

“We’re not exclusive. He wants to see how things go first,” Jamie said frowning.

“And is that okay with you?” Callie asked shrewdly.

“Surprisingly, yes. I mean I just broke up with Steven. I wasn’t really ready to jump into anything seriously. I just didn’t expect that I would meet two really great guys.”

“Jamie for the longest time you have been playing it safe. Safe job. Safe relationships. It’s time to throw logic out the door and have some fun bestie.”

“I feel terrible,” Jamie said sighing.

“Why? It’s okay to see where things go with Ben.”

“So I should stop seeing Phil?” Jamie questioned.

“Of course not. You have a good time with Phil. And you seem to have had a good time with Ben. So date them both and then decide.”

  “I couldn’t possibly,” Jamie stated.

“Jam, you’re not doing anything wrong. You’re not exclusive with either one of them so why not have fun for the rest of your time here? Do something impulsive for once.”

“You’re right. Why do I have to decide anything? I’m just having fun.”

  Chapter 6

And that was how it started. Taking Callie’s advice and following her own heart, Jamie decided there was no reason why she couldn’t date both men. Especially since neither of them wanted exclusivity. And the fact of the matter was that Jamie was having a good time dating both Phil and Ben.

She had been dating Phil for almost two months and Ben for a month and still she valued the time she spent with both of them. Callie often asked her who she preferred but the truth was that it wasn’t so simple. Though she liked them both, they each offered something different.

With Phil they had a quiet simple kind of love affair. She could spend hours in his company, not saying a word or talking until they both fell asleep exhausted and still feel comfortable. Phil liked discovering new restaurants, visiting museums, the theater and concerts. He enjoyed having long discussions about politics and world news. At thirty-six he was by no means ancient but he was far more sophisticated than many of Jamie’s past lovers. There was a strength in him that made Jamie feel safe, not physically but emotionally. And though many might think they wouldn’t, they had a good time when they were together. They would go to some new fantastic restaurant he had read about and then spend nights curled up in bed making love, watching movies, playing chess and talking. Jamie loved their talks. He was so intelligent that sometimes she was in awe of him. She enjoyed their time together and when they were apart she missed him.

Ben on the other hand was adventurous. In a word, he was fun. He made Jamie laugh more than anyone else ever had. He took Jamie hiking and rock climbing. He even attempted to teach her how to surf which was disastrous and ended up with him surfing and her lounging about getting some sun. Ben was also spur of the moment. He would suddenly get a whim to do something and call Jamie up. She found it hard to turn him down. They went to Disneyland and went dancing. She felt carefree with him. She loved being around him, he was a happy kind of chaos. They were on a constant roller coaster. While Ben was also intelligent, he didn’t take life so seriously. Ben wasn’t planning for the future. He was content living in the here and now and Jamie was happy to go along for the ride. So she saw both Ben and Phil a couple times a week. The difference was that Ben knew she was seeing someone else and Phil didn’t. It made her feel guilty at times.

The sex that she had with both men were vastly different as well. Phil was thoughtful and a generous lover. Ben was wild and aggressive in bed. Sometimes Jamie felt like two completely different people when she was with them. The crazy thing was that she was both, they just brought out different sides of her. The problem was that she was falling for them both. She knew eventually she would have to make a choice but right now she didn’t want to think about it.

  *****

She spent lunch with Phil and then the evening with Ben. Something she hadn’t done before. The end result was that she was exhausted by the time she got home. She went to sleep still dressed. Jamie awoke to the smell of coffee and was momentarily disorientated.

“Welcome back to the land of the living,” Callie laughed as she handed Jamie a latte.

“What time is it?” Jamie asked groggily as she sat up.

  “After one,” Callie informed her.

“Ugh,” Jamie groaned. She put the Styrofoam cup on her nightstand and rubbed her eyes.

“You look like you had fun. Your hair is all messy. JBF afro and everything. Which one was it?” Callie asked with a smirk.

Jamie threw a pillow at her but fell back on her bed with a smile.

  “It was fantastic.” she yelled.

“Good. I always said Steven wasn’t doing you right. You were always uptight,” Callie said joking.

  “Shut up,” Jamie said laughing.

“It’s nice to hear that laugh,” Callie remarked.

“Why are you home?” Jamie questioned. “I thought you were spending the day with Kale.”

“Hmmm,” Callie said getting up and avoiding Jamie’s question.

“Did you guys break up?” Jamie asked.

  “No. Can’t I c
ome home without you assuming that we had a break up,” Callie said sarcastically.

  “I’m sorry,” Jamie said apologizing.

“We didn’t break up. I needed to get out of there,” Callie said suddenly serious.

  “Why?”

“I don’t know Jam. I was lying there in bed and it hit me. I’m so happy with Kale.”

“Okay, now I’m confused. Isn’t that a good thing?”

“Yes. But no,” Callie said sitting on the bed with a frown.

“It’s too soon Jamie. I just broke up with Will and that killed me,” Callie said.

  “It did?”

“It did. I know that I act like things don’t bother me but I really loved Will.”

“You never told me,” Jamie said softly.

“I didn’t want to be weak,” Callie stated simply.

“You should be happy Cal. Why is that a bad thing?”

“It’s not. It’s just I’ve been lying to him Jam.”

“What do you mean?” Jamie asked.

“He doesn’t know who I am. I told him I was your personal assistant,” she replied the guilt all over her face.

“Why would you do that?” Jamie probed.

“Because I didn’t want him to like me for my money. Did you know Will asked me if I had music connections two weeks after we started dating? He broke up with me when he didn’t need me anymore. I didn’t want a repeat of that,” Callie said tearing up.

“Oh Cal. Why didn’t you tell me that?” Jamie said sadly.

“I was too embarrassed. I didn’t want to believe it at first but after he got signed he started fooling around on me. When I asked him he didn’t deny it.”

“What a jerk. But you know you can tell me anything. You had to deal with that on your own and I’m sorry,” Jamie said.

“So then there’s Kale,” Callie said the tears falling freely now.

“What did he do?” Jamie asked.

“Nothing. This is all on me. And now I have a great guy that I am completely falling in love with and I think he feels the same about me. Which would be great, except our whole relationship has been a lie. And Jam I can help him too. His paintings are incredible. He’s so talented.”

“Why don’t you tell him Callie? You can’t help who you are,” Jamie suggested.
