I’ve never played professional sports, so I don’t know first hand that singular drive that professional athletes have to achieve their sports’ biggest prize. I have, however, seen the Stanley Cup, in all of its glory- and it is pretty glorious. For a hockey player, having their name engraved on the cup is what they play for. Is there room alongside that singular dedication to sports perfection for anything else?

That question became the impetus for this installment of the Men of the Ice series.

I hope you enjoyed reading Ryder and Jess’s story and will come back for more books in the Men of the Ice series, featuring Casey and Char (Making an Impact), Noah and Riley (Breaking the Ice) and Trenton and Lauren (Going all In).

This series is special to me, but then again, all of my books are. It’s a small world in real life, as well as in books, and the introduction of new Generals prospect Ryan Howton-Canfield now links this series to my novels set in New Hampshire. That wasn’t random, though. You can definitely count on seeing Ryan again.

As always, I am grateful to everyone who has helped me along the way in my publishing journey. Your support and encouragement means the world.

This series would definitely not be where it is today without the help of my personal assistant, Valentina Rodriguez. I look forward to more of your ideas.

  About the Author

Michele Shriver writes women’s fiction and contemporary romance. Her books feature flawed-but-likeable characters in real-life settings. She’s not afraid to break the rules, but never stops believing in happily ever after. Michele counts among her favorite things a good glass of wine, a hockey game, and a sweet and sexy book boyfriend, not necessarily in that order.
