What Hurts the Most 2

When lil mama made her way back from the restroom, I refused to look her way. I just called over the waitress, paid my tab, and got my ass up out of there. On the way to my ride, I heard footsteps behind me. Feeling my waistband, I had to make sure I had my tool on me. It was dark as hell out here, and I was about to shoot a mothafucka if they jumped stupid.

Beep-Beep. The lights on the Mercedes Benz parked next to me came on and the car cranked up. Glancing over my shoulder as the hottie from inside was walking past, I just shook my head.

“Yo, are you following me or something, lil mama?” I asked as I approached my truck.

“Excuse me?” she said and I repeated my question. She gave a light chuckle and shook her head. “Not even in your wildest dreams sweetie.”

  I laughed.

“Well, yo’ ass almost got shot creeping up behind me and shit. Yo’ ass better make some damn noise next time. If you wouldn’t have started that damn car up, then you would’ve been a dead bitch,” I felt the need to let her know.

“Excuse the fuck out of me?! First of all, I ain’t no damn bitch! Now, if I scared yo’ pussy ass, then my fault. If I had known your bitch ass was a scary cat, then I would’ve left out way before your weak ass. Then you wanna stand there and call me a bitch. Mothafucka you got some damn nerve!” Lil mama had snapped on me while rolling her neck. I stood here with my mouth wide open, staring at her ass in disbelief. Who the fuck she thought she was talking too?

“Oh, so you one of those reckless mouth having ass hos?! Keep running yo’ shit I’ma shove something in that bitch, and it damn sho’ ain’t go be no food or drink,” I said disrespectfully.

“Fuck you asshole!” was all she said back. Shawty attitude was on ten right now, and I didn’t give a fuck. Her ass was sexy as fuck, though.

“Not in yo’ wildest dream sweetie!” I used her words on her with amusement dripping from my voice. With a roll of her eyes, she shook her head and got inside her car. “You sexy as fuck though,” I felt the need to let her know before she could close the door. I saw a smile crept across her face as she went on and closed the door. Shaking my head, I went on and begun unlocking my door.

“Your rude scary ass sexy too.” Looking up, I noticed lil mama had her window down and was staring at me with lustful eyes. Smiling, I made my way around to her car.

“So what your name is, shawty?” I asked as I kneeled down at the driver side door. I licked my lips and waited for her to answer.

“It damn sho’ ain’t no shawty, bitch, or ho,” she let me know with an attitude. She needed to cut that shit out. She know damn well she liked that name calling, ‘cause if she didn’t, she wouldn’t be still here trying to give me conversation. “It’s Rachel.”

I extended my hand for a handshake, and she wasted no time shaking it. “I’m Jay’vion, but you can call me Jay. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Rachel. I was hoping one day you could let me take you out for lunch. You know, if that’s cool with you.” I kissed her hand, laying my charm down strong. She rolled her eyes upwards and smirked as she jerked her hand away from me.

“Nigga please, it’s too late for you to be trying to be a gentlemen now. Hell, you should’ve been that before cursing my ass the fuck out,” she laughed. I couldn’t help but laugh as well, because it was true. But shit, she snapped on my ass too, so we were even.

Rachel and I sat out in the parking lot for over two hours chopping it up. She seemed cool as fuck, and we made plans to get up the next day for lunch. Her mouth was fucking reckless, like Asia if not worse, and that shit was a turn on. I was definitely keeping her lil thick ass around until I got my lady back. I’ve always heard: the thicker the berry, the sweeter the juice, and I was damn sure ready to find out if that saying was true or not.

  Chapter 19

  Thanks But No Thanks!

  2 months later

  Kacey

I didn’t know why this nigga, Jay, always felt the need to come scoop me up with his damn brother with him. I knew I couldn’t avoid Tez, being that he was my damn boss, so I had no other choice but to suck this shit up and roll with the punches. I sat in the back seat of Jay’s Rover quietly as we cruised around. They were up front talking about who they thought had something to do with taking their shit. They still weren’t for sure who it was, but they had an idea. I had pretty much tuned them out, though. That shit wasn’t any of my concern, and I could care less about it. As long as it didn’t affect me getting dough, I was good. I had other shit I was dealing with anyways.

“Ain’t that Chuck over there?” Tez’s question grabbed my attention as we were pulling into the gas station. Jay brought the truck to a complete stop with a jerk and threw it in park.

“Yea, that’s that nigga,” he said opening the door. “Let’s go see what he talking ‘bout.” Jay continued, getting out with Tez and me right behind him.

I wasn’t trying to get into any trouble behind these crazy ass niggas, but at the same time, I wasn’t about to act as if I was a punk, either. I wasn’t about to give this nigga Tez the satisfaction of knowing I wasn’t about that life. Now, I’ll fight all day long, but I wasn’t a damn killer.

“What’s up Chuck?” Jay spoke as we walked up surrounding Chuck like we were the police and came to arrest him or some shit.

“What’s up Jay? Sup Kace?” he said dapping us up. “Hey, Tez man. What’s good?” Chuck looked at Tez and said, but Tez didn’t budge.

“Where yo boy Darius at?” Tez asked him. “I ain’t seen the nigga in a couple of months.” It was like that nigga Darius had fell off the face of earth. I heard Tez and Jay had kicked his ass out the apartment he was trapping out of. They told him not to bring his ass back until he had their money or dope, whichever one he could get first. After that, no one had seen him since. Nigga had got ghost on them, for real.

“Shit, I don’t know. I haven’t seen that mothafucka in damn near a month,” Chuck answered while trying not to make any eye contact with us. Now, I am not the smartest man in the world but hell, my ass even knew this dude was lying.

“Well when you see that nigga tell him we’re looking for him,” Jay said hitting Chuck on the side of the face with the 9mm gun he’d been holding since we got out his Rover.

“Ugh! Shit!” Chuck grabbed the side of his face as the blood triggered down from the gash that was wide opened. “What the fuck was that for man? I ain’t do shit!”

Jay raised his gun and hit him again. “Shut up crying like a pussy before I kill yo bitch ass,” he yelled out, causing a scene.

This the shit I was talking about! Here we are out in the damn open, and they were acting up. I ain’t going back to jail for fucking with their ass. Shit, I’m not even supposed to be around all this bullshit, anyways. Tan didn’t even know, but I was out on parole, and if they found out I was back out here in the streets, I’d be locked right back up. Even so, my ass just stood here watching shit unfold, because I didn’t want to look like a punk in front of the nigga that had fucked my ol’ lady while I was in prison.

I watched as Tez pointed his gun right between Chuck eyes. “You know I could kill you right now, but until I figure this shit out, you get a free pass, but if and when I do find out you had something to do with my shit going missing, consider yourself a dead man.” With that being said, Tez brought his gun down from between Chuck’s eyes and shot him right in the leg, then walked off as if it was nothing.

Yea, this mothafucka is crazy! I thought to myself as I followed.

Inside the truck, that’s when I finally found my voice. “Man, did y’all see how that nigga couldn’t even look at y’all?” I asked. They both nodded their head, letting me know they’d noticed it too.

“Yea, I should have killed that nigga,” Jay’s trigger-happy ass said. I already know his ass was crazy.

“I noticed that shit too, but I feel he’s going to lead us to Darius, so that’s why I gave his ass a warning shot,” said Tez as he pulled the blunt and released the smoke. “I wanna kill them niggas
at the same time.”

I just shook my head and reminded myself not to get caught up in the bullshit these crazy fuckers had going on. Now slanging rocks is one thing, but killing is another story. I’m not trying to sound like a bitch, but I am not going to jail for murder. Damn that!

Looking down at my ringing phone, I sent the caller to the voicemail like I’d been doing all day. I already knew who it was, and that’s why I wasn’t answering. Not long as I was around this nigga Tez anyways. I didn’t need his ass eavesdropping so he could run back telling Tan shit. That would be right up his alley.

“Damn, yo’ shit been going off like a mothafucka since we picked you up. You sure you ain’t no cop.” That was Tez asking that dumb ass question. He knew damn well I wasn’t the police, so I knew his ass was trying to be funny.

“Nigga you got me fucked up,” was all I said back to him. I wasn’t about to entertain him. “Aye, drop me off at Tan’s job so I can get her car. I have to take care of some shit.” Looking down at my phone, I sent her a quick text letting her know I was coming by at it.

“Aight. Yo man, why you haven’t got a car yet? You been out for a while now, and I know you done made enough change to buy you one,” Jay asked me. Yeah, I have made more than enough to buy a whip, but I had too much shit going on right now that buying a car was the last thing on my mind. Shit, I had to worry about getting my lady and me out that small ass apartment first.

“Yeah man, I know I might not be one of your favorite persons right now, but like I told you, ain’t no hard feelings over here. If you need some extra cash to get you a whip and back on your feet or whatever, then say so. That’s the least I could do,” Tez said.

Now, that shit sounded good, but y’all know ain’t no grown man about to let another nigga help him get back on his feet. Especially not the same nigga that was keeping his bitch occupied while he was locked up. He ain’t about to have shit to throw up in my face. He was already my boss, and I had to look in his face damn near every other day. I didn’t need him giving me no extra cash as if I was his bitch. I was good on that!

“I appreciate that but I’m good. I’m just trying to stack my bread so I can move Tan up out of Atlanta. Hell, maybe even Georgia all together.” I have been thinking about moving back to Savannah, but I pretty much said that to get under Tez’s skin. Jay looked over at Tez, and he was just sitting there nodding his head up and down.

“That’s what’s up right there,” was all he said then turned the radio up. I laughed to myself. Bet he won’t be getting any more of that good coochie.

When we pulled up to Tan’s job, she was already sitting inside the car waiting for me. I was glad she was already off, because I damn sure didn’t wanna have to rush back and pick her up. I thanked Jay and told them I would get up with them later—which I had no intentions of doing so—and exited the vehicle.

“Yo, let me see your phone,” I said to Tan as I cursed under my breath. My dumb ass had damn left my shit laying on Jay’s back seat. How? I didn’t even fucking know, but I had to get it back ASAP. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was damn near at home, fast as he drives. “Aye bruh, I left my phone on your back seat. Can you bring it back or I met you somewhere?”

“Yeah, I was just about to call you. I’m about to turn around now and bring it back, shit been blowing up since you got out.”

“Yeah, aight. I’ll be out here waiting.” I hung up and handed Tan back her phone and went in for a kiss. It was hard, but we were still trying to patch things back together between us after her admitting to having fucked Tez that one time. She was sticking to that, but I knew for a fact that it was more than once. Now, if only I could get my shit together, then maybe we could move forward.

“So where you about to go now that you had to come get my car? You was just with Jay, so why you had him to drop you off?” she questioned me. I wasn’t in the mood for all these questions today, and I silently thanked God when I say Jay coming back to bring me my phone.

  Chapter 20

  Just a Friend!

  Tangela

I didn’t know what, but I knew something was going on with Kacey. He tried kicking it like he was still fucked up over the fact that I’d slept with Quintez, but I knew the shit was deeper than that. I’m not saying he wasn’t still upset about it, but the way he was acting now was like he was hiding something. I was trying not to think it was another woman, but y’all females know how it is once your woman’s intuition gets to talking to you. We are ready to nut the fuck up on somebody. I was hoping he wasn’t having an affair as payback for what I did, but I was damn sure going to dig deeper into this shit.

I watched as he strolled over to the driver’s side of Jay’s truck, totally ignoring the questions I had just asked. I was trying everything in my power to not make any eye contact with Quintez, but I felt the nigga gawking me. Once he had my attention, he winked his eye and blew me at kiss. Ugh! Why must he play games and shit?! Yet, I had to bite down on my bottom lip to keep from blushing. Lord, I’m glad we was on the opposite side of this truck, because had Kacey saw that, it would’ve definitely been some shit out here, and I wasn’t about to try and break up no fight between two grown ass men. I just shook my head and got back inside the car to wait on Kacey.

Once Kacey got inside and had closed the door, I pulled off heading home. I asked him once again where he was going, and all he said was he had to go take care of a little business, so I just left it as that. Because I knew the kind of business they was in, at first when he would tell me that, I thought maybe Quintez and Jay had him putting in some extra work, but that couldn’t have been the case because he was with the both of them today. A couple of months ago, I wouldn’t hesitate to let a mothafucka know that my dude wasn’t a cheater, but nowadays I wasn’t so sure of it.

Grabbing my phone off the end table, I dialed Asia’s number. I was bored as hell and in need of someone to talk to.

“Ugh! This chick here,” I mumbled to myself as I rolled my eyes. This heffa didn’t even answer the phone for me. I guess that’s how it is when you’re getting some good dick. I wasn’t even mad at her, because I was the same way when I was fucking around with Quintez.

I was bored as I don’t know what, so I went and took at shower. Once I was done, I snatched my phone off the table and headed outside to catch some of this nice weather out here. It wasn’t too hot and it wasn’t too cold; it was just right. All of a sudden, loud music and the sound of loud pipes on a car grabbed my attention, but it wasn’t until the black on black Monte Carlos SS with 26 inch rims stopped dead in front of my building that my heart skipped a damn beat. The music was cut down, and I saw the driver side window come down.

“What’s up lil mama?” Quintez yelled out. With a roll of my eyes, I waved and continued to play Farms Hero on my phone. “Damn it’s like that lil mama? I thought we were better than that. You know you acting funny towards yo’ boy since that nigga done came home,” he said with a chuckle, and I saw his bottom gold grill shimmering from where I sat. I didn’t even know why he had to stop right here and bother me anyways.

However, I was bored and in need of someone to talk to, and though Kacey prohibited me from being around Quintez, he wasn’t here and there was nothing wrong with talking. Right?

“I already told you it wasn’t like that,” I said as I stood and made my way to his car. Turning his engine off, Quintez got out and leaned his back against the car with his legs wide opened, arms stretched out for a hug and a big ass smile on his face. “What you doing out here? You better not be stalking me.” I knocked his arms down, because I wasn’t about to give this fool no hug. I wasn’t expecting Kacey back any time soon, but what if he did come back early and saw me in Quintez’s arms, that wouldn’t look good at all.

“Girl please—you wish!” He laughed. “Nah, for real. I was serving a nigga in that building right there.” He pointed a couple of buildings down from me. I just nodded my head, not really caring at all. “Why you sitting ou
t here looking like you just lost your best friend? You better not let your man see you out here talking to me. I hate to see you get your ass beat,” Quintez laughed again. I just shook my head and rolled my eyes, because I knew he was trying to be funny.

“Whatever. He ain’t even here. Said he had to go take care of a little business, I don’t know,” I hunched my shoulders, trying to act as if it didn’t bother me that Kacey wasn’t here. Just like always, Quintez saw right through me, though.

“Aw, don’t be sad about it lil mama. I think Jay had him running some errands for him or something. It shouldn’t take long though.”

When Quintez said, that I felt a little better for the simple fact that I knew he wouldn’t lie to cover up for Kacey’s ass. I mean, for what? Kacey had something that he wanted—Me! Nah, I knew he wouldn’t lie to me for Kacey. I smiled and opened my mouth to say something, but the ringing of his phone prevented me from doing so.

“What’s up babe? I’ll be there in a few,” he answered and said.

Babe? Where the fuck he’ll be at in a damn few. Suddenly it was like my insides were on fire. Beads of sweat had done formed on my forehead, and I was 38-hot and filled with nothing but jealousy. Yeah, I know I had a man, but it didn’t stop me from still wanting this damn man. As much as I told myself and everyone else around me I didn’t, deep down I did. I just knew we could never be together without me feeling bad for hurting Kacey.

I listened as he laughed and talked to whoever it was on the other end, until he finally disconnected the call.

“Who was that? One of your many girlfriends?” I asked sarcastically, but I was dead ass serious. I wanted to know who this man was calling babe all of a damn sudden when just a few months ago he was begging me to leave my dude. Sitting on the hood of his car, Quintez smirked at me.

“Jealous, aren’t you?” his cocky ass asked.

“Not at all! I was just asking. It must’ve been that Bree bitch?” I was trying to pick him so that he would tell me. I knew she was his ex and shit, and at one time he acted as if he was still in love with the damn girl and couldn’t live without her. He’d told me how she did him when he was locked up, and for him to get out and continue to fuck with her it had to be love. I didn’t have a baby on Kacey, but I fucked around on him and he was still willing to move forward, so I would never questions his love for me.
