“Braxton,” she whispered, sleepily. “Why are you looking at me like that?

  “Can’t help myself, Dimples.”

“You're silly. Shouldn’t we get up?” she said a little shyly.

“If you say so, let's get cleaned up. After you.” I pointed toward the bathroom. She rolled off me but hesitated. I leaned over and gave her a quick peck on the mouth.

“Last one there is a rotten egg.” I playfully chanted at her.

Then tossing the covers back and jumped off the bed. As if the hounds of hell were on my heels, I ran in all my naked glory toward the shower.

Jurnee gasped, then giggled, a second before the bed creaked and her footsteps followed me. Next thing I knew she was right next to me, with a sheet wrapped around her body like a toga.

“Oh no you don’t. You don’t get to hide from me, Dimples.” There was that blush again. Never got old, I tell you. Unwrapping her body from the bedcover held the same anticipation of opening the best Christmas gift ever. What I found inside, was fucking marvelous. I could tell she was embarrassed a little, but eventually she would get over it. So, I placed my hand in hers, pulled her to the shower, and turned it on with my other hand. As we waited, I leaned in and kissed her warm, gentle lips. God, I love how willing she is to be close to me. Once the water had warmed, I dragged us both in under the spray.

“Don’t be shy, I saw every inch of that amazing body last night, baby. Let me wash you?” She nodded and I poured a good amount of shampoo into my hands and started tenderly rubbing it into her hair. Facing one another, the whimpers coming from her mouth, along with the look on her face were almost my undoing. Damn, I was trying so hard to be gentle, but I really wanted to go caveman on her. Moans of contentment and desire broke from her lips, as I slid my hands down her neck, over her chest, curving them around each one of her voluptuous breasts.

My pulsating cock stood at attention.

Jurnee was so caught up in the moment, her eyes were closed, but then she slowly blinked them open and looked down. Those beautiful browns were wide open now, and they looked like they may pop right out of her head. She brought her gaze back to mine, and there was a question I couldn’t compute reflecting in their shimmering depths. Then...

  Oh fuck.

Dropping to her knees, Jurnee wrapped her small hand around the base of my dick and placed a kiss to the tip with her silky lips. Warm water streamed over us as she sucked my shaft into her mouth as far as she could take me. One hand pumped my thick rod, while the other lightly fondled my balls, and I threw my head back in ecstasy. The dual touch was a recipe for one of the best moments of my life.

I had a tight grip on her hair, holding on for dear life, I tried gentling my hold and to warn her about the volcano of release that was about to implode, but she wasn’t letting up. Sucking me even farther, if possible, into her mouth, I blew, eyes screwed tightly shut, the eruption had stars bursting behind my lids in fucking bliss, while she took every ounce of my release into her mouth.

Letting me go with an audible pop, she smiled like a cat who got the cream and stood up. “I’ve always wanted to do that.”

Shaking my buzzing head, I thought I must’ve heard wrong. “Say again?”

“I said,” she repeated. “I’ve always wanted to do that, Brax.”

I shook my head one more time, trying to get the water out because there was no way that she’d just said that.

  “You’ve never done that before?”

  “Nope, was it okay?”

My eyes filled with heat at her answer and simple question. Knowing I was her first was almost too much to handle. I needed her—now. Anticipation building, I smirked, then licked my lower lip. “Let me return the favor and show you just how okay it was.” I hit my knees just as she had done minutes before and went to work.

After we are both utterly satisfied, we finish cleaning off.

“How about some breakfast?” I asked her.

“You're not going to try and feed me again like you're a damn airplane, are you?”

“Maybe I will feed you, then I will feed me?” I waggle my eyebrows at her suggestively.

  Smack!

Jurnee had playfully hit my chest, and I grabbed her wrists and yanked her toward me, our slick bodies rubbing together.

“You just did that, you goof.”

“Never can get enough of you, sweetness.”

We finally worked our way out of the shower to dry off and made our way toward the bedroom. Just as she walked out the door, I pulled her towel off from around her and spanked her delicious ass.

“Braxton!” she screeched. “What the heck?”

  “Payback, baby.”

Jurnee in my kitchen, bare-legged and wearing one of my t-shirts which hung down to mid-thigh, was messing with my head. I, however, was still thanking the heavens above that she said yes to borrowing it for breakfast, but I couldn’t promise we’d make it through the meal without me touching her.

Standing at the stove putting the last touches on our omelets, I peered over my shoulder to find her studying me. She was perched on one of the bar stools, opposite the counter, which I may say was a damn shame, because those beautiful stems were hidden from my view. Her legs are a thing of beauty. With her elbows on the counter and her chin resting in the palms of her hands, she looked thoughtful. “What are you thinking about so intently over there?” I asked her.

“I’m just in awe that I get to watch you strut around the kitchen, making me breakfast, in a pair of athletic shorts and nothing else. It’s seriously something.”

Yup, we’re not making it through breakfast.

“I think we better get to the breakfast portion of the morning really fast or we may not get there at all at this rate.” She gave me a knowing smile.

As I finished preparing the food, I drifted off in thought. I was never expecting to connect with a woman so fast, especially Jurnee. She’s my sister's best friend and before I got back I looked at her almost like another little sister—her and Summer both. When they walked into the bar that first night, Summer stayed right where I thought she would, while Jurnee became so much more. Once again, even though my sister seemed okay with this, I still hoped it was the truth. I never wanted to do anything to jeopardize their friendship.

And yet I couldn’t deny my feelings or stop what was already in motion. Jurnee had wrapped herself around my heart like a vine and the grip she had on it would never be released.

Scooping up our grub, I slid her plate across the island toward her, placing mine right next to hers, and then headed for the fridge. “Milk, orange juice, apple juice, or water?” I ask.

  “OJ, please.”

“One OJ coming up.” I grabbed her drink of choice, then my milk, and took my spot on the stool beside her.

“What’s on your agenda today?” I was hoping she didn’t have much because I was not in a hurry for her to go home.

“I usually try and head over to the hospital to visit the kids in the cancer wing on Sundays, but they have something special going on tomorrow in the morning for them, so I am going over then instead. Today I'll just do some laundry, household stuff, and relax.”

“It’s great you go and see the kids, your heart is so big, Dimples.” She said thank you, tucked her head, shoving a bite of omelet into her mouth. Another damn moan seeped from her lips and my body shifted into full arousal mode.

“This is so good, I can’t believe you can cook like this.” Another bite, another moan, and she had me about to come off the stool. Her eyes were closed like she was in the throes of passion and I was close to embarrassing myself.

“Baby, if you want to finish your food, you're going to have to stop making those sexy as hell noises.”

Her eyes popped open wide at my comment. Usually, Jurnee would get a little shy right about now, but I thought she was beginning to come out of her shell with me. One, she hadn’t had to take off for the bathroom, and two, the look she was pinning me with right now wa
s sinful. Nope, the look wasn’t bashful at all. She’d left that dwarf in the dust and dwarf number eight came out to play.

Move over Bashful, Naughty just joined the story.

That’s when I knew breakfast was over.

“Time to go back upstairs, Dimples.”

  “Wait, what about breakfast?”

“It’s time for dessert. I will give you the count of five to get a head start.”

Looking at me dead on, I almost fell off the stool at her next words.

“Are you going to give me your love muscle?” She jumped off the stool and went running for the stairs. I almost forgot to follow because I was shocked as shit.

Finally, I took off after her. “You're gonna tell me where you got that from, Dimples.”

I heard her shout from the top of the stairs. “Trust me, Brax, you may not want to know,” she yelled, cracking up.

I caught up with her and grabbed her around the waist, turned her in my arms, and slowly pushed her towards the bed. The backs of her knees hit the edge and she went toppling backward; I quickly followed along. One hand placed on the mattress and the other grabbing her right side, I started tickling her. “Tell me where you heard that, woman.”

“No way!” she shouted, writhing around giggling.

I tortured her with more tickles before she finally caved. “I read it in one of your sister’s books.”

The blank, horrified look on Braxton’s face was priceless.

“Oh man, you're right, I didn’t want to know my sister writes that shit.”

“Told you so.” I let up on tickling her because she was laughing so hard, she could barely breathe.

Looking her in the eyes, the mood shifted from playful to serious. “I’m gonna forget where you got that and show you just what my love muscle can do.”

Her chuckle, along with the naughty twinkle in her eyes, and the way she squirmed underneath me, had me tearing my shirt off her mouthwatering body. I slammed my starving mouth down over hers and set about ravishing my gorgeous girl.

  Again.

  Chapter Twenty-Five

  Jurnee

All my reservations, fears, and worries started flying like rapid gunfire from my mouth. “Braxton, you never know if the cancer will come back. I may not be able to have kids. I’m so much less experienced and plain than people you're probably used to dating. And what if I’m not enough?”

With my words halted, he took the moment, and to stop anything else from falling from my lips, they took possession of mine in a soul-searching kiss. His firm, strong mouth slanted over mine, his tongue caressing the seam of my lips, which had me opening for him without thought.

And I am lost. Home sweet home.

I loved it here with the girls, but when I walked in, something was missing. It was Brax—he had chained himself to my heart and the concrete hold he had on it was rock-solid.

Shutting the door to the quiet, empty house, I realized I’d gotten lucky and wouldn't be doing the walk of shame in front of the girls. It wasn’t as though they would have cared. I mean, they had encouraged me to go. One, if not both of them, wouldn’t let me hear the end of it. They would probably just hit me up for all the juicy details. Well, maybe not Alley since it had to do with her brother. Hearing what all Brax and I had done would be like walking in on your parents getting busy. My face twisted, and I gagged at the thought. Eww, just no, I’m glad that never happened to me.

Heading to my room, I grabbed some comfy clothes, and headed toward the shower, thinking about last night. As earth-shattering as my time with Braxton was, I had worried about Alley throughout the evening. I wished she would explain what was going on with Landon. They used to be friends, really close in fact. At one point, I’d thought it had been shifting into possibly more. We had an inkling something was going on, but this was Alley we’re talking about. She told Summer and me everything, but on this subject, she’d put up a wall that we couldn’t seem to bust through. She hadn’t wanted to talk about it, not any of it, and he didn’t either. It was obvious that whatever happened was tremendously affecting them both. But for now, I had to let it go. At least, until she was ready to confide in us.

I reminisced about the shower earlier that morning with Brax as the hot spray hit my skin. Showering alone didn’t hold the same appeal now that I’d experienced how much fun two people could have together. Waking up each day to indulge in shower-time with Braxton sounds good to me. The damn water bill could get rather expensive with a man like him around. Multiple showers a day and never getting out until the water ran cold... worth every penny.

After washing off and throwing on my clothes, I started toward my room. As I padded down the hall in my bare feet, I heard Alley and Summer talking in the living room, so I detoured that way instead. Walking in, two sets of eyes turned to me at the same time. It was like deja vu, reminding me of the first day I saw them in the school parking lot. My heart melted a little on the spot because not only was I forever grateful for meeting these two special people, but it brought me Braxton as well. Tears formed in my eyes and the girls came rushing right over, wrapping me in their embrace.

It was Alley who spoke first. “Hey girl, why the tears? Did my brother do something to upset you, because if he did, I’ll have to throttle him?” Her tone was fiercely protective, even if she had been talking about her own brother.

In a wobbly voice, I spoke up as fast as I could because I didn’t want her thinking that about her brother. Braxton was amazing and so good to me. “No, no, nothing like that. He was truly wonderful. Your brother is so much more than I could ever ask for or have dreamt for myself. It’s just when I saw you both look at me as I walked in, it reminded me of the day I saw you guys for the first time. I’ve told you about that before and how it made me feel. It was just one of the best days of my life, and I love you both so much.” Breaking down into a puddle of tears, the girls squeezed me tight and held on.

“You are one of the best things that have ever happened to us too,” Summer replied.

Well, now it was a river, not just a puddle.

“I’m okay, really.” I swiped at my face furiously, while I tried to sound convincing. “I was just emotional for a second.”

“Let’s sit down and you can tell us all about your evening with Braxton,” Summer said, with a gleam in her eyes.

Alley laughed but also had her own comment to add. “Most of the details, but maybe not all, and please for the love of all that’s holy, the PG version for the little sister here.”

The next hour was spent talking about the evening. How awesome Braxton’s house was, which I still was curious why he had such a big place for just one guy but decided I would ask him about that later. We never had got to all that between my sharing and the sex. I’d admitted what a fabulous kisser he was, and that it went way farther than that. For Alley’s sake, I left out the big details. Summer pouted a little, so I told her I would give her a few extras another time, and we all laughed.

But I wasn’t giving them all away, because that was between Braxton and me. I was going to cherish each memory like a hidden treasure. They were precious beyond words.

After our talk, I decided I needed a nap. There hadn’t been much in the way of sleep last night, and I was exhausted. But I wasn’t complaining, it was worth every second of non-rest. The girls seemed to find this funny. One day, they would understand.

And for one of them, that day would come sooner, rather than later.

I wasn’t sure how long I’d been asleep when my phone beeped as a text message came through, waking me. Just a bit excited that it might be him, the man who’d stolen my heart, I hurriedly snatched it off the nightstand and punched in my passcode to get the message to display.

Braxton: Hey babe, just wanted to check in and see how you are doing? I know we didn’t get a lot of rest last night and you’re probably just hanging with the girls and resting, but I wanted to say that I miss you already.

Jurnee: I just woke up fr
om a little nap, and I miss you too. Last night was one of the most amazing nights of my life.

Braxton: What are you up to the rest of the day?

Jurnee: Nothing but tackling the dreaded laundry and picking up a bit around the house, what about you?

Braxton: Some of the same, but I was wondering if later you wanted to go grab dinner with me. Maybe some Mexican, at that one place you love so much.

Wow, he really knew how to reel me in. Hook, line, and sinker. First, he texted to see how I was doing, then told me he missed me, and now he wanted to take me for tacos. He honestly knew the way to my heart. Even if he’d made it there already.

Jurnee: I would love to, what time?

  Braxton: How’s six?

  Jurnee: Perfect, see you then.

  Braxton: Love you, Jurnee.

  Jurnee: Love you too, Brax.

I released a sigh and flopped back on my horde of pillows, with my phone clutched to my chest.

Damn the man, always making me emotional.

Things had progressed fast with Braxton and me, but I didn’t think we always had a choice about who, or when we fell in love. So, I was going to cherish that feeling and hope that it blossomed into something beautiful. Even if those worries of mine did rear their ugly heads from time to time.

  Chapter Twenty-Six

  Braxton

Muddling around the house trying to get things done, the scent of her cherry essence filled my nostrils, making me miss her presence that much more. One night was all it took, and I wanted her here forever.
