Nanny Piggins and the Wicked Plan

‘Oh, Nanny Piggins, what a relief,’ exclaimed Samantha as she and her brothers hugged Nanny Piggins as hard as they could.

‘Come along,’ said Nanny Piggins, after making sure she had hugged them all three times each. ‘We need to get you home. You’ve had a difficult day, and you haven’t had a thing to eat since that fifty litres of ice-cream this morning.’

And so Nanny Piggins, Boris and the Green children enjoyed their ride home because they were safe and together just as a family should be.

It was only when they had been driving for half an hour that a thought occurred to Nanny Piggins. ‘Where is your father? You did rescue him, didn’t you? While I distracted all the gypsies.’

‘Of course we rescued him,’ said Boris. ‘What sort of people do you think we are?’

‘Then where is he?’ asked Nanny Piggins, looking about the car that Mr Green clearly was not in.

‘We put him in the boot,’ admitted Derrick.

‘He wouldn’t stop complaining,’ said Michael.

‘We can stop and let him in the car if you like,’ said Samantha.

‘It would be silly to stop now, when we are only six hours from home,’ said Nanny Piggins.

And so Nanny Piggins, Boris and the children enjoyed a lovely car ride home. It actually took them eight hours because they had to stop several times. First for pizza, then for chocolate cake, and then for sticky date pudding (Boris had had it on his mind all day). And the eight hours in the boot did Mr Green no harm at all. He used the time to vow to himself over and over that he would never try to remarry again.
