Chaos: The First

by Tammy Fanniel

“I don’t know where my name comes from. It just was. I have no past. I have just always been. I walked alone since the beginning of time. I didn’t feel the emotions that you humans feel so I was content, but bored. I walked in darkness. The starts were my children, the darkness my form as I held them close to me. I do not know how old I am, perhaps I am time itself. As the millennium’s passed me by I became lonely. I longed for another to share my life with, to communicate with so I created my children from the matter within me. I created Gaia, Tartarus, Erebus, Nyx, and Eros.

Erebus was my first creation. I say creation because unlike you mortals, he came into being through my manifestations. So yes he is my child, but through a piece of me he was created. He is the darkness with the absence of light. He is the shadow that keeps oversight as the moon blankets the sun offering rest to the children that sprout from the first deity’s wombs.

Gaia was my second. She’s the land you tread on, the soil you use to feed your bodies, and the great mother of all those beings you call heavenly gods. She is the embodiment of a mother. Unlike me, she feels the emotions that were not a part of my make-up. She has an enormous capacity for love, and she loves unconditionally. She is selfless and giving, yet stern. Her knowledge is bountiful as she advises her children. All on Earth she considers her children. She is the mother of all.

She is my favorite. Her kindness and understanding soothed my emptiness since her creation.

Tartarus was my third child. You know him as the abyss from which souls are punished after they are judged. But before then, he was the unbounded first-existing entity from where the light and the cosmos were born.

Then came Nyx. She stands in the shadows as well. You must understand that before Gaia there was a nothingness and everything was wreathed with darkness. Not darkness as you understands it to be, but the physical aspects of obscurity. So do not mistake evil with darkness. Upon the creation of Erebus and Nyx, a bond was formed creating several other deities. They bound themselves through their darkness and found solace in each other’s depths.

Eros was my last. His mischievous nature created the bonds, often good and often bad, between gods and mortals alike. At one point his antics, after other creations were born and brought into existence, made me forget about my loneliness, but after a while my children created their own children and I was left alone and forgotten by all, except Gaia, again.

I watched over my children and I could not understand their actions. Then as time progressed and mortals were formed I became even more distanced…and over time I was forgotten. The evil that was birthed from the pettiness of the gods baffled me. The hideous innate nature of some deities intrigued me. I could easily destroy all I’ve created, but what would that make me. The more I watched, the more I noticed the battle between the light and the dark. Can there be goodness without evil? Is there a balance that must be maintained between the two?

As the evil was birthed, this is when Tartarus began to house the souls of the damned.”

Chaos felt her small body tense as he told his tale.

“How can I possibly be a good wife to you when I am nothing more than a mortal?”

Chaos felt her tumultuous emotions as their bodies touched.

“You are a part of me. Once we join we will be forever bound. Without you, my understanding will be forever incomplete.”

  “I don’t understand.”

He sighed as he began his tale again. “During the first war of the Gods, between the Titans and the Olympians, I released my essence into the mortal realm. That essence has changed over time. It learned the ways of mortals. It learned the pain that you experience. The love that you feel for one another. It had centuries to gather knowledge…and now I have come back to reclaim that piece of me that I sent out to make me aware of the inner workings of mortals. That essence is you…”

She drew back startled, bracing herself on his chest with one hand and peered into his eyes. “Are you saying that you are going to take my life force from me?”

“No my love.” He declared as he cupped her face with both hands. “What I am saying is that I found the piece of me that will make me whole again. It has changed and is no longer mine to take, but must be given freely. That essence is now of the mortal realm and must remain so. So I have come down to be within its presence, if it would have me.” He whispered the last part and in his voice she heard his longing, his loneliness, and for the first time she felt His hope.

Her heart ached with longing at the desire and hope she saw in his eyes. Those swirling dark mists seemed to look straight into her heart. At that moment she knew that they were a part of one another. She moved forward offering her love, her soul, and her body. She innocently placed her lips on his and felt their warmth. She felt him tense, and then encircle her with his arms.

With only a thought, he transported them to their wedding bed. She lay on her back, naked and a bit shy as he lay besides her resting on one elbow. She felt small and feminine beside his powerful masculinity and as he gazed at her bare body she attempted to cover herself up. He gently moved her hands out of the way and looked at her shy gaze.

“We will learn together my soul. I come to your bed as untouched as you come to mine. There has been no other. This has been the first time since its creation that I have come to the mortal realm.” With those words, he leaned forward and kissed her sweet lips. She signed with their contact. It was sweet and exploratory.

He deepened the kiss and brushed his tongue over her soft lips. The soft sigh that escaped her lips enflamed his body and he felt this new form harden as his blood pulsed through him. Her tongue shyly met his in a supple caress. He moved his hands along her lissome body, her smooth soft skin quivering with mounting need. He skimmed his fingers across her aroused nipples and she moaned in his mouth. His cock jumped at that needy sound. He broke their kiss to look at the beautiful creature beside him as his hand moved back down her body. Their gazes locked as they felt the new emotions envelop them.

He slowly learned her body, exploring each inch with unadorned amazement. Each moan making his cock jump and making his body shudder as he held back his passions. His curiosity over the female form was limitless and she squirmed with his undivided attention. His hands brushed the saber curls and her legs instinctively opened for him. He could smell her arousal and a pearl of cum glistened on the tip of his manhood.

His fingers skimmed her womanhood again, intrigued by how her Aura sputtered and her breath hitched every time he lightly brushed her there. His need was almost forgotten as he explored her beautiful body. The next time he touched her there it was with more pressure and she cried out in need.

“Please Chaos…” she wrapped her fingers through his thick hair and pulled his lips to hers. He gave in for a moment but she was setting both of their bodies on fire. He slipped a finger into her now dripping womanhood and curved his finger, slowly rotating her hole bring his thumb down to lightly tease her clitoris. Her body arched of the bed as she cried out in need.

The passion pooled between her legs and she was slick with need. Hesitation and shyness left her as the age old dance took over her body. She was frantic with need, pulling at his head to come closer. His breathing was as heavy as hers and he finally relented, having the inability to control the raging fire coursing through his veins. He brought his body closer to hers and she could feel his long, thick manhood on her thigh.

“Please Chaos, I need you…now.” She sobbed as her body cried for his attention. His hold on his self-control crumbled with her impassioned cry and he moved on top of her. His weight as he lay between her legs crushed her into the bed. Their naked bodies touched from head to toe, skin on skin. He took him member and rubbed it into her moist heat…its slick, smooth, steel head teasing her clit and coating his shaft with her juices. The friction of their joined bodies driving them both mad with need and desire. He positioned his large head into her and broke their kiss. He looked into her eyes and she stared into their
swirling dark mists. As he plunged into her, taking her maidenhood, and gifting her with his, he released his Aura. His Aura rose and blended into hers…their colors dancing together in their own joining. She felt no pain, but when he penetrated her body and her soul, they were irrevocably tied together in life and in death.

A tidal wave of pleasure overtook her entire being. Her legs automatically fell open and he filled her completely. She heard his cry of pleasure as they joined. They could no longer hold on to the exploratory tenderness and their lips met in a fierce, passionate battle. She could no longer tell where her pleasure began or his pleasure ended. They were intertwined. She felt his emotions and his pleasure. He felt her pleasure. They were one…and as they both reached the pinnacle of their journey, it seemed as the world came crashing down around them. He released his potent seed into her empty womb, and her body shook with her release, drawing his seed in deeper.

Both of their Aura’s were irrevocable changed. His held hints of her luminescent light, and hers held some of his somber hues. His body lay on top of hers, still joined. He placed his forehead on hers, giving her a sweet tender kiss. He knew that his seed would take hold in her barren womb and that 9 months time, they would have a child. He breathed in deeply, attempting to calm his still raging body. He was still aroused and connected to his lovely wife. He held her face in his large hand, and placed her hand on his gently. Her heart still beating from the joining.

“So this is passion.” Chaos said breathlessly as he rotated and ground his hips into her again, sparking another flame of desire that needed to be fulfilled. She moaned as her womanhood clenched his shaft and he faltered as a fresh wave of feeling tingled through his body. He would never get enough of her.

Weeks passed as they explored each other. Every day he became more ingrained in the day to day life of the mortal realm. Every day the people of Alexandrites accepted the great dragons more and more into their daily lives. The dragons sometimes brought them fresh game. Sometimes they allowed their counterpart mortals the gift of flying.

Days turned into weeks and magic began to flourish in the once bereft Kingdom. The children were the key to their success. Their education in the arts, medicines, science, and agricultural skills enhanced by their magical counterparts would ensure the survival of the land and Kingdom.

As weeks turned into months, Zoe blossomed with Chaos’ child. He treated her with kindness, respect, and love. They were equals in every way and the more they made love, the more their Aura’s evened out. Their missing souls were finally whole and even in physical form they were loath to leave one another.

He showed her things that she could never have dreamt of. Through his memories and eyes she saw the universe. She saw different realms with fantastic creatures as she sighed with amazement. She saw colors that were hidden from her in her magical barren state. They now sparkled across the mortal realm. But as their spirits merged her latent magic came to life. She was of the Earth, a child of mother Gaia. Her skills developed gently, as her slowly rounding belly. When she sang to her child, the flowers took note. Their colors shone more vibrantly and their petals lifted to the sun more proudly. When she hummed to herself, a calm washed over those that listened to the melody. When she went out to heal the sick or wounded, her touch soothed and the wounds healed quickly. She glowed with happiness and inner peace.

Ambrose became her constant companion when Chaos was not around. She felt safe and cherished with the great beast, and Ambrose was over protective of her and the young babe. No one dared to come near the princess when Ambrose was near. Ambrose replaced the mother she could barely remember. They were a unique pair as the lay in the open meadows, content their silence. Sometimes Ambrose taught her the varying uses of the plants that grew in the wild.

She learned that the insect repelling beautyberries with their clusters of white to pinkish flowers and red-purple berries of metallic luster could also be used to make wind or jelly. She also learned of the Areca nut, which some used as a mild stimulant…or ginger, not only used a spice but can also treat nausea.

She loved the sessions with Ambrose and they grew very close as her baby matured in her swollen womb. As they lay in spring meadow, soaking in the sun’s rays, she lay back on her good friend and drifted off into a peaceful slumber.

  Chapter 3

Chaos shimmered into King Abelard’s chambers knowing that the king was alone.

“Archaggelos Michael, present yourself!” Chaos ordered. “What goes on in the lands of Sapphire?”

Michael materialized in the king’s chamber out of thin air.

“Sire, the lands are cremated with the lust and hatred of the Sapphire Dragons. The animals have fled and the common people suffer. King Cledwyn is blinded by his own greed. He scavenges the land, raping and pillaging his own people. He mines the land where the sapphires are found, further enraging the Sapphire Dragons. The Sapphire dragons of the legends are in the past, although there are some that have chosen a different path… they have turned their back on their children and brethren as they became what they feared the most. Those that have turned from the true path are nothing more than shells of their former selves. The balance within their souls is lost, and their hearts are as black as the charred remains of their enemies. King Cledwyn has found a way to draw from the magic in the Sapphires and he and his men become bold. They have even captured one of the mythical beasts and enslaved it with its own magic. King Cledwyn now rides the beast looking for more wealth and power. The creatures of his land have all but fled and in their place are demon lords.”

“Which of the fallen have taken up with King Cledwyn?” asked Chaos. He frowned as he attempted to remember all his messengers.

“Ballaton has chosen the demon path. He calls upon the spirits of the evil fallen with the assistance of his sorcerers. He has called Baraacata to his side.” Michael hesitated as he looked his sire in the eyes. “Metatron has joined him sire, along with Phanuel.”

Chaos felt his insides burn with anger as his faithful messengers or children turned from his light. His eyebrows bunched in an all too human way as emotions swirled through his newly discovered humanity. Shock, anger, pain, and sadness swirled through his chest and infiltrated his mind. He was stunned at their deception. They were angels of the First Choir, made of brilliant gold light as was Michael. How could he not feel their betrayal? They fed off of his energy source, the Whole of Existence.

Chaos closed his eyes for the first time since coming to this mortal realm and reached out to his children. He found them within the pits of the Sapphire lands. Their once brilliant gold light was now dim, imbued with strands of red and black. Their pure feathers began to shed, and underneath the downy feathers a glimpse of leather replaced the once pristine white. They were still brilliant to look at, but now they were dark angels…not too far from the demons that turned wholly from the light and scourged the land.

Swiftly and with meticulous care he cut the strands of power that bonded them to the Source. With the severance of their power, the angels turned demon and shrieked in pain and bewilderment. They never understood their connection to the source, but now they were bereft and in their hearts the horror of that severance screamed in their minds, manifesting itself in a shriek that rent through the air and brought chills to every being with a fortnight’s radius. The feathers fully fell off of their now leathery wings, and when they realized that their creator banished them from his light, they knew that their true trials were about to begin.

The Sapphire lands bordered Land of Alexandrites on the west. The darkness encroached on the borders and the people that lived there felt the shift as the air carried the acrid smell of smoke and evil.

King Abelard called for his commander of the Alexandrites Army, General Anieli. The warrior entered and came to attention in front of his King. His eyes took in Michael bright form and his eyes widened at the celestial being, but he did not budge until his king bade him at ease.

  “We must gather
our Army and post them on the borders of our lands.” King Abelard said steadfastly. “Gather your brightest warriors. We will stagger them along the west border villages of Pleochroist, Chromist, and Columbine along the Ural Mountains.” Abelard gave him the information that was just relayed to him by Michael.

“This will not be a battle that you have ever fought before Anieli. This is not just a mortal battle. Prepare your men. You will leave one month from now. As you prepare the men, we will ply our magical brethren within the land for an alliance. Without their gifts, hope is lost.”

General Anieli took one last glance at the angel that graced his Kings presence, saluted and left the room to prepare his troops. He already began the mental checklist for what his troops would require. Fortunately he had a month to prepare rations and train-up his soldiers for the battle ahead.

“Michael, gather my other messenger children to my side. Gather Uriel, Raphael, and Gabriel…they will join the people against their brethren. Remiel, Raguel, and Zerachiel are fighting battles within another realm. They are unavailable.”
