Four Hitmen: A Quadrouple Bad Boy Mafia Hot Romance (Lawless Book 3)

“Ah, have you got him there? Lift, now. That is the thing I’m always saying about working at night, you know.”
“Oh, here we go again.” The car door was still open. “Is the car going to balance while we get him in? I don’t want you going over with him.”
“Good point. You go first, then it won’t be me.”
“Har de fucking har. Heave now.” They swung him into the driver’s seat.
“Yup. He’s in.” Declan said, “Hold onto my belt while I reach across him, would ya? But you see, don’t you? Any passerby at night, whizzing by this scene now, they’d be most unsure of what they’d seen. And they’d be keen to hurry along, too. Okay, I’ll start the engine and push it straight into ‘drive.’ Have you got a hold of me?”
“I’ve got you. Yes, they’d hurry on because at night, oh, watch out, you’ve got your jacket caught.” The car made very little sound as it slipped over the edge. Liam and Declan turned back, not waiting to watch. “There he goes. Well done, lad. Are you okay?”
“I’m grand.” As they sprinted back to their car they heard the distant, rustling crump as the car landed, nose down. A moment later there was another when it fell onto its roof.
Declan started the car right away. “All right, we don’t need to wait around. The sooner we’re not here, the better for all concerned.”
“So what were you saying?”
“That’s my point. The reason people hurry by at night is… seat belt, okay? I don’t want to listen to this thing binging all the way back. It’s because everything looks suspicious at night. So if there’s ever a chance of some concerned civilian wanting to make a call, it’s going to be in the dead of night.”
“Slow down a bit, would you? As we get around this curve we’ll get a look.”
“Oh, well, that’s grand. A nice little fire.”
“No one anywhere near to get hurt.”
“Not as far as I can see.”
“And in the end, he was kind enough to put all the vomit where no one’s going to even go looking.”
“I think we’re leaving the scene of a perfect, self-closing case.”
“And on our way to a well-earned celebration.”
F COURSE I was engrossed in a story when they finally did arrive back. Kneeling on a couch with my legs tucked under me, I bit the knuckle of my finger as I read. When the door opened I was startled. My arms went out to the sides and my hands spread against the back of the couch.
Liam was first in through the door. His lip curled as he saw me. His look was hungry and eager, like he’d surprised a little trapped animal. His nostrils flared as he rushed over to me. I was getting up off the couch but he held up a hand telling me no need, stay there, so I scrambled up onto my knees.
He lifted my chin and his breath was hard and hot as he told me, “I’ve missed you, little Miss Mischief.”
“And me, too,” Declan was close behind him. I reached out to both of them. My hand was on the back of Liam’s strong neck and his eyes drilled into mine. A phone rang. Liam and Declan both scowled.
Liam said, “I think it’s yours,” like that made it Declan’s fault.
Declan’s voice scraped angrily, “You know who it will be, though.”
I knew, too. I laid my free hand on Liam’s chest.
Declan barged around Liam. He took my face in his hands and looked in my eyes for a shining moment before he snatched a kiss. Wet, hot, fast, and angry, his lips took mine I tried to keep my eyes open, like he did, but I couldn’t. All too soon he broke off. As he backed away to answer the phone, he kept his angry eye on mine. Then he turned away as he bent to the call.
“Can’t I have a kiss?” I hated the needy tone in my voice, but I couldn’t help it.
Declan hunched around his phone and moved away, jerking around the room with his back to us.
Liam’s face bent toward me. The full approaching scent of him lit my body from the inside. With my fingertips I traced his lips. As I peered up at him, his arm came around me and swept me to him. Our faces were close. Close enough that I could taste coffee on the tang of his warm breath.
I stroked his cheek. When his lips touched mine, it was like my body splashed and sprayed into life. Trembling and urgent, I pressed my body against his, feeling all of his hard ridges as my soft curves rolled and spread on him.
His kiss lifted me. The heat of his body, his muscles as they rippled under his suit and his crisp linen shirt, and the insistent nudge from the uncoiling hosepipe in his pants all sparked currents inside me and made me cling to him. Made me pull him into me. Made me moan to have him closer. To feel his hot skin.
Knowing whatever was coming in on Declan’s phone was going to scatter our plans for the day yet again, my fingers clenched at Liam’s suit and gripped against him. As we kissed, his hands roamed over my body. I trembled when he held my throat. As he slid his hand down to grasp and knead my breast, I pulsed.
His hand slipped over my stomach. My breath caught as he paused to press on my mound and then I felt the air between my thighs cool as he lifted my skirt. His fingers tripped and trickled up the insides of my thighs and I melted in an explosion of need.
As Liam’s fingers teased the tops of my thighs and deftly traced and trilled along the folds of my lips and my hood, I gasped and moaned. My eyes pleaded at Declan across the room, but he turned his shoulder angrily. He spoke low and nodded impatiently, but it riled me to see that he wasn’t able to disentangle himself.
Liam’s strong finger pressed through the soaking gauze of my lacy panties and entangled itself at the base of my clit. A wave of anxious anticipation shook me. The muscles of my thighs shook and my ass cheeks clenched. He knew how to play my clit. With just one finger he could play me like a piano. A shock of sensation erupted inside me. With three fingers, he could play me like a conductor playing an orchestra.
With his free hand, Liam lifted my chin. Pulled up my face up to search in my eyes. “Have you been a good girl while we were away?”
I pressed my lips together as I nodded. His finger vibrated the wet fabric over my clit.
And he slapped my cheek. Not hard. Just hard enough that I wanted him to do it again.
“Liar.” His eye gleamed. I couldn’t read his face. His eyes shone in shadow. Hard.
Not daring to speak, I only shook my head.
His fingers and thumb pressed onto my cheeks and he pulled my chin down, then up. He made me nod as he said it again.
“Liar.”
My eyebrows steepled. I tried hard to shake my head, but he nodded it again.
His fingers slipped inside my panties and I almost collapsed. “You’ve been a bad girl. I know you have. When have you ever once been anything but a bad girl?”
“It’s a job.” Declan called from across the room.
Without taking his eyes, or his hands from me, Liam said, “When is it ever not a job? We just did a job.”
“He says that was only part of the job.”
“Oh?”
“The driver was only the opener. The real job is the boss.”
Liam’s eyes widened and he stopped moving.
“Hammer fucking deLunghi?” His mouth stayed open, “Is that what you’re saying he wants? Hammer?”
“That’s not the worst of it.”
“You’re fucking joking. What could possibly be the worst of us having to make a hit on the biggest, most senior, most heavily armed and protected fucking psychopath in the mob?”
Declan came and stood to look over Liam’s shoulder. He was watching me, too, as he spoke. “We’re to work in a team.”
Liam frowned. “We are a fucking team.”
A hard knock shook the door.
ITHOUT ANY SIGN of pleasure or welcome, Declan opened the door to the two tall, broad, blond men who stood poised and erect.
“What the actual fuck?” Liam spun around. Ever the gent, even as he turned he smoothed my panties and my skirt perfectly back into place. Shame he couldn’t do the s
ame for my makeup. Or for my wild, out of control pulse and emotions.
Kneeling up on the couch, I watched the two men enter and Declan closed the door after them. His face told the same story as my gut. All day I had been waiting for some alone time with my two beautiful men. Now that time seemed to be fading farther into the distance and even the sight of two more gorgeous hunks of hot male flesh was not enough compensation.
Declan offered the twins a drink, genial and hospitable, even while everyone could see he was in a mood like a thunderstorm. None of us knew for certain if Horst and Gunner really were twins, or if they were really German, come to that. I couldn’t help wondering, if they were twins, how identical they were. Did identical twins have identical cocks? They both swelled and bulged in my direction at what seemed to be identical speeds. I didn’t want to look too hard. That always seemed to make cocks rise faster, harder and farther, but it could be a distraction. I never, ever wanted to be in the way of Declan and Liam’s business.
Horst and Gunner had the same eyes, the same full lips with the same cocky half grins, and the same bulging Adam’s apples that bobbed when they swallowed. They were the same height, a shade taller than Declan, and both were square-shouldered, with wide, square jaws and big, flashing teeth. Their hair and clothes were the same, too, and that added to the intriguing and discomforting effect.
“Horst,” a twin stuck a hand out at Declan. “Sometimes people get us mixed up.”
Declan gave Horst’s hand a hearty shake. Then he turned to the other and said, “Gunner,” as he offered his hand. I think he was just showing that he remembered their names. Hospitable Declan.
So now Liam and I had to shake hands with both of them. My fingers were still damp from having them on Liam’s lips, and I was reverberating inside from Liam’s fingers trilling and thrilling me. And jarred from suddenly breaking off.
When they took my hand, each in turn, they looked me in the eye as they lifted my hand. Their touch was strong and tender and their manner was courteous. The tingles that still reverberated in my core stirred and swelled again on contact with the twins’ strong fingers.
I stepped back as Horst told Liam and Declan, “I understand we’re to be working together.”
Liam’s eyebrows tightened. I knew that meant he was displeased.
Gunner said, “We heard about Carlo meeting with a regrettable end.”
Declan snarled. “News gets around.”
I moved toward the other couch, wanting to keep out of the way.
“Oh,” Horst said, “We heard it was going to happen. We didn’t know that fate had already overtaken him.”
“Well, if you know that much,” Declan’s voice was hard, “You’d be wise not to go around calling my friend here and myself names.”
Horst frowned, “I don’t understand.”
“If you don’t,” Liam sprang toward him, “then you definitely don’t want to be calling us names. Especially not names like ‘fate.’”
“Oh,” Horst’s face brightened. But Declan shoved his face near to Horst’s.
“Or,” Declan said, “We might befall you.”
Declan repeated his offer of drinks.
Gunner said he would join Declan in whatever he was having. Splashing whiskey into tumblers, handing one to Gunner and another to Horst, Declan said, “Look, I don’t know where you got your information,”
Liam moved to collect a whiskey for himself and a tumbler for me, saying, “Well there are only two places I can think of that you could have gotten it from. And since I seriously doubt Carlo called himself to tell you, that would only leave one.”
“It is regrettable that we were told, obviously, before you had been asked. Or even been made aware.” Gunner said, “Were you at least told that we were coming here?”
“About thirty seconds before you knocked on the door.” Declan took a nip of his whiskey.
Horst shook his head. “That’s embarrassing.”
“Why?” Liam’s voice cracked like a whip. “It’s not your doing. What do you have to be embarrassed about?”
Horst turned to face him. “When the proposition was put to us, we were hoping, Gunner and I, that we would be able to work cooperatively with you.”
“We sincerely are admirers of your work.”
“Damnit,” Declan spun to face Gunner. “I’m sure your admiration is quite sincere, and the sentiment is touching. Truly. But you gentlemen surely realize that we do everything in our power to keep our work from being known by anyone.”
Everybody could see what had happened, that the mysterious voice on the phone, the man pulling the strings, who was responsible for giving Liam and Declan most of their work, had engineered this situation.
Everybody was tense now, and I was still buzzing. The advantage I had was in being an outsider, at least a kind of an outsider. I wasn’t a part of any of the negotiations or deals. I had given Declan and Liam a little help now and then, and I would have happily have given them more, but they kept me out of it. For my safety more than anything.
Knowing what I did, though, I was able to step into the middle of the room and say, “We are where we are. This is someone else’s doing. It may go better if we all sit. Maybe relax a little.”
My guess was that Declan and Liam had the same idea, but they wouldn’t have wanted to seem to back down. Not in front of Horst and Gunner. Maybe not in front of me either, I didn’t know, although I did hope. A little bit.
Saying that, I was taking a risk. If any of the men took it the wrong way, we could have been in for contests of strength and will. Possibly firepower, too. But they all sat and the mood lightened a little.
IAM SAT ON the couch and Gunner sat next to him. Declan settled on the other couch and I went over to sit by him. Scooting up as close as I could, I chinked my glass with his. Horst sat in one of the spare armchairs.
His smile was wide and boyish. “I don’t know how far you’ve been briefed on the mission at this point,” he stopped and looked at me. His hand waved toward me and he said to Declan and Liam, “It’s okay that she stays for this?”
Declan was firm. “Our companion stays. Anything you can say to us you can say to her,” he turned to me, “We trust each other completely.”
“It’s a fine thing,” Gunner lifted his glass.
“But as to your other point, don’t take it for granted too soon that we’re working together. We haven’t even seen a package on the target yet.”
“But you’re familiar with him, obviously.”
Declan spoke up. “The call that I had shortly before you arrived gave me the target.”
Gunner asked, “And the location, yes?”
“He’s attending a conference.”
As he spoke, Declan’s hand had slid underneath me. He squeezed my ass, then slipped under my thigh. As he talked, he stroked the inside of my thigh all the way up.
He was speaking as his fingers found my soaking wet panties. His eye widened a fraction and his tongue flicked out to moisten his lips. I held back a moan as he slipped his fingers along my folds, but resisting the urge to kiss him was even harder.
