Lovin' on You
Page 18
“But now that you’re awake . . .” She leans on me and kisses me deeply. I groan as her tongues slips into my mouth and my dick hardens. It’s been way too long. She giggles into my mouth and straddles me.
Looking down at me, she cups my face with both hands. “I love you.”
I reach up and kiss her, needing her more than ever. Instead of slow and steady, I go for deep and hard, undressing her as I devour her mouth. I feel her everywhere, becoming familiar with her body again as she moves her hands up my chest and around my neck. I love the feel of her body wanting mine.
Not being able to control myself any further, I slide into her and make love in the silence of the forest and our tiny tent.
It’s a beautiful day as we hike through the area. We come across a group of teenagers jumping off a cliff on our way around the lake. They seem to be having a blast as water splashes all around. “Let’s jump,” I tell Olivia.
“Are you crazy? I’m sacred of heights.”
“I know, but it isn’t that high up and I’ll hold your hand the entire way down.” I’m already starting to climb the rock.
“You’re insane. I don’t know, Cash,” she calls after me.
“I’ll jump alone.” I look down at her.
She seems torn. After a few breaths, and some cursing I’m sure, she begins to climb. I wait for her to reach me and kiss her hard.
“Ready?”
“No,” she laughs.
“One, two, three,” I count and jump with her. Water splashes around us but our hands stay locked. I was expecting the force of the water to break us apart, but her grip was tight. Once we surface, I hug her to me and kiss her.
“That wasn’t too bad, was it?”
“I hate you right now. Also, I may have peed myself on the way down.” I laugh loudly. “I wish that was a joke,” she says.
Instead of jumping again, we swim around this area, spending time together as the younger kids yell on their descent. We laugh, watching them, and dive under water, enjoying ourselves. Olivia laughs when she splashes water at my face. I swim after her until I catch her. She tries to wriggle herself free, but I tighten my hold and kiss the back of her neck.
“Got you,” I whisper into her ear.
“I let you catch me,” she says and I let her turn around to face me.
“Oh yeah?” I cock an eyebrow.
“Definitely.” Olivia is competitive, and she won’t let me think I caught her by my killer swimming skills. She’s cute when she acts all hard.
I know Olivia used to come here with her parents, and I enjoyed a few trips down here, too. Now, we get to experience it together.
The sun is hotter than it has been and the water is refreshing in contrast. Tomorrow morning, we have to head back home, but we will continue our relationship, working through the new things coming our way. When it’s time to go back on tour, I’ll make sure she comes with me. I won’t be the first, or last, artist who has his girlfriend on tour with him.
“I want you to come with me to the studio tomorrow.”
“Is that professional?”
“Of course. We’re just recording music and hanging out. The guys will be happy to see you.”
“Will they?” She looks back at me.
“Yes. Do you think they won’t?”
“I don’t know. Maybe they hate me for what I did.”
“Nah,” I shake my head. I don’t want her worrying about stupid shit. “I want you there.”
“I guess I can work from my laptop.”
“How is work?” I have always been so proud of her drive.
“Good. I’ve been working with some bigger companies, including a new brewery opening up next month.” She impresses me with her dedication.
“That’s awesome.” I lean in and kiss her. “Ready to dry up?”
“Yeah.”
We swim to the shore and grab our clothes, walking back to camp in our bathing suits. I can’t help myself from feeling her exposed skin as we walk. Watching her in that bikini is turning me on. I can’t wait to tear it off.
Olivia pulls me into the tent and zips it up, the look in her eyes wanting. I guess she had the same thought I did walking back. She runs her fingers over my chest and smiles wickedly. I try to hold back my groan, but she hears it and snickers. Her hands reach down to my swim trunks and pull them off me.
“I missed you.” She kisses me as her hand wraps around my dick and begins to move up and down.
“Olivia,” I draw out.
“I got you,” she whispers into my mouth before kissing me. No longer shy, her tongue reaches for mine and I lose all self-control.
“Fuck . . .” I draw out when her mouth takes me in, her tongue teasing me as her lips suck the tip of my dick. She takes me in completely, drawing out my need to be inside her. Her mouth feels heavenly around my cock. Her hand reaches for my balls, and I about lose it. As soon as she deep throats me, I know I need to stop her or I’ll come in her mouth.
I pull her by her shoulders and drag her up my body, despite her pout, and kiss her hard. I move my hands down her body, teasing her clit as she grinds into my hand. I want to always make her this vulnerable. I dip a finger into her pussy, and she moans out my name. My lips move down her jaw to her neck, up to her ear as I nip her lobe and say, “Mine.” She shivers above me and I continue to tease her, reminding her who makes her body react this way.
Olivia looks up at me and I move my hands away, knowing we both need more than that. She raises her body over me, straddling me as she lowers herself onto me. I watch her try to gain control of her body, but mostly she loses herself in her need of pleasure and my need to offer it to her.
I curse when I feel her clench around me, her tits bouncing over me. I reach up to grab them, pinching her nipples before I take them in my mouth. She clenches around me again as she moves up and down my cock, causing me to growl. I am tempted to quicken the process, but let her have her way, feeling each bit of her as she makes love to me.
Hearing her moan my name adds to my pleasure as I meet her thrusts. Feeling her like this again is everything I have wanted since I left on tour. Knowing I get to have her and that now nothing stands in our way pushes me forward. I flip her over and take her roughly, claiming her as mine, although she doesn’t need the reminder. She knows who she belongs to.
“Cash . . .” she draws out and it pushes me to move further into her, her pussy squeezing me as I take and take. I feel my orgasm rising, so I move faster, fucking her hard as she grips into my shoulders. Our movements are fast and needy now as we each find our release.
“I fucking love you,” I groan into her ear as I let myself go inside her. She clenches repeatedly as we orgasm. I slump into her and kiss her.
“You’re perfect.” I kiss her nose and roll over. She follows me, holding her body close to mine and closes her eyes.
“This. I missed this. Not the sex, but knowing that I had you.” She places her palm over my heart.
“You always have me.” I reassure her and pull her in tightly.
I want her to know that I have been hers since the first day I saw her. I want her to understand that before I met her I wrote songs about her. She has been my muse from the beginning, and she will be until the day I die. Olivia Young is mine and I will make sure of it.
“I love you,” she whispers and we stay in our tent for the rest of the day, having no reason to leave until our stomachs growl. We put on sweats, and I light the fire to warm up our food.
I am not sure what I was expecting to happen between Cash and I when we saw each other, besides me explaining what had happened, but he dove in full force without hesitation. That’s Cash, impulsive and honest. Two of the reasons I love him.
As much as I loved the impromptu camping trip, I need to talk to him. His schedule is going to be crazy and I want him to understand that I’ll be here for him, regardless of long work hours or long periods of time out on the road. I need him to keep his focus so he can contin
ue following his dream. Although he knew it then, I need to remind him that I have always supported him.
I arrive at the studio full of nerves. I am not sure where to go or how this works. Will I even be allowed to watch them record or will I be waiting outside while they work? I walk into a small reception area carrying my laptop and purse.
I analyze my nails as I wait for someone to open the door to the main studio. A few minutes later, Peyton opens the door for me.
“Hi, Olivia.” He gives me a tight smile. This is so awkward. I’m going to kill Cash if he told me it was okay for me to be here, when in reality it’s better if I’m not.
“Hi,” I respond and walk into the room. There are more people here than I thought there would be. I don’t know why I was just expecting the guys and Peyton. Clearly, more people are needed to record songs. Cash walks towards me from the couch, smiling widely.
“Hey.” He kisses me softly. He holds my hand and walks me to where Ryder, Cole and Jason are sitting.
“Hey, guys.”
“Hey,” they all say.
“Good to see you again, Liv.” Ryder winks and I roll my eyes and groan.
“Too soon, Ryder, too soon.” He laughs and everyone looks at us.
“You don’t want to know,” I say.
Ryder chuckles. “Liv walked in on Jen and I the other day. I was balls deep, and she walks in right in the middle of the action.”
“You owe me a couch,” I say dryly.
“Next time just walk in with your eyes closed.” He winks.
“My house, Ryder,” I tease.
“I’m not sure I like that she saw you fucking someone,” Cash says.
“Aw, man, don’t be jealous. She didn’t see much so she can’t compare what you have to what she’s missing out on.”
“Oh, God,” I groan while Cash gives him a pointed stare.
“She ain’t missing out on anything.”
“Change the subject, someone please,” I beg.
“How have you been?” Cole asks. I smile gratefully at him. We catch up a bit before they need to go back to record. Cash introduces me to the producers, Dave and Steve, who are at the control station. A few other people are in and out, monitoring what is going on in the studio.
I watch from the couch as they begin to sing. This is a lot more tedious than when they perform on stage. They stop often, adjusting their sound as Dave gives them instructions. I guess it is different hearing the music live than through a record. It would make sense that every tune needs to be perfect when recorded. There is definitely no room for error. It is amazing to watch them, regardless of how many times they start again.
Half way through, I open my laptop to get some work done, as well. I work on the brand for the brewing company. They are a duo starting up, but they have a younger outlook. They want something modern, but that will also fit the beer industry.
Rebel Desire’s music provides background noise to my work, and it is so much better than turning on my playlist. Nothing beats having Cash’s voice, just feet away, singing to you. I look up during one of their newer songs and see Cash’s eyes on me while he sings. I don’t think this is one they have performed before. It is edgier and full of emotion. His voice sounds raw and the song has an acoustic feel to it.
I’m startled when Jason hits the drums hard and the beat picks up, but I don’t take my eyes off Cash. He is rocking his body to the music and singing out every painful word from our break-up, but the look in his eyes is soft. I have moved from sitting to standing to get a better view of him. Dave says something and they sing the last verse again.
I feel someone next to me and turn my head. “They sound good,” Vivian says.
“They do.” I offer a small smile. I see what Cash means about her. She seems rigid.
“The muse.” She looks over at me seriously. “That boy has it bad for you. I’m happy to see one of them has his head on straight.” She surprises me.
“They’re a good bunch,” I reply confidently.
“Between you and me, they are.” She winks and cracks a smile. I laugh softly. She is all talk when it comes to them. I understand though. Being a woman and having to watch over a band of men would make me act the way she does. She needs them to respect her, and they do.
While Peyton talks to Vivian about a few details, I move to finish my work. If it weren’t for Cash being the lead singer, this would be boring, but I love watching the guys do what they do with so much passion.
Hours later, we are walking out of the studio. “Dinner?” Cash asks.
“Sounds good.” I’m famished. The sandwich we ate earlier is gone from my system.
“You guys want to come?” He looks over at Ryder, Cole and Jason.
“Yeah,” Jason says. “I’m starving.” We say bye to Peyton, who is going home, and the guys tease him about missing his wife.
I look over at Cash, who is driving my car, as we follow the other guys to a restaurant not far from the studio. I can’t hide the smile that tugs at my lips. It feels crazy to think that we are back here again, doing things we were doing before he left. I need to remind myself that we did have time apart, and we do need to continue growing our relationship. Our relationship started fast, and it seems to be going faster now, because we did lose each other already. Sometimes we need to take a step back and slow down, just enjoy the moment, instead of moving so quickly.
My eyes skim through the menu when we take our seats. I smile as I hear the guys tell tales from their tour. We laugh as Cole tries to hit on the waitress, despite seeing her wedding band, and fails. Cole is definitely the man-whore of the group.
“Some people are loyal to their partners,” Ryder jokes.
“Whatever. I’ll find another woman.” Cole’s eyes roam around the restaurant once he’s done eating until they land on a tall brunette standing by the bar with a friend. We laugh as he walks towards her and introduces himself, surely using Rebel Desire as his hook. The girls both laugh at something he says and we all stare at him. He winks our way when he walks out with both women.
“Motherfucker,” Jason says.
“No shit,” Ryder responds.
“Lucky bastard,” Cash adds. Then looks at me unapologetically. I laugh at the three of them and shake my head. Boys will be boys.
“Are you coming back to the studio today?” Cash asks as I get dressed. I spent the night at his apartment, and he took his time loving on me.
“Not today.”
“Why not?” He scrunches his eyebrows. I walk up to him and hug him.
“Because I need to work.” I put my chin on his chest and look up into his eyes, smiling tenderly.
“You can work from there.”
“With you being all sexy and distracting me?” I playfully slap his butt.
“It’s just that . . .” he looks away.
“Hey, look at me.” I grab his chin and force him to look at me. I see the vulnerability in his eyes.
“It’s okay to have time to ourselves. We both worked separately before. I will always support you, even if I am not there every minute.”
“I know you will, and you know I want the best for your career.” He kisses me quickly. “It’s just that after what happened, I want to have you by my side. I hated being apart and not knowing what was going on. I hated hearing the reason, more.”
“We can’t do everything together. You need to trust what we have and understand that you can’t protect me from douche bags. Or one douche bag in particular.”
“I should have been there, though.”
“No. You’re not going to get all wimpy, guilty on me now.” He smiles. “Cash, we broke up. It happens. I hate that it happened, but we can’t let that affect us moving forward. We can’t suddenly be glued together.”
“I don’t want to lose you again.” My eyes crinkle as I smile at him. He’s so cute when he’s vulnerable, but I hate seeing the pain on his face.
“You won’t. From now on, it’s you and me agains
t the world.” I hold him tightly. His arms wrap around me and I melt into him, breathing a little lighter. I should have known this would be more difficult than I thought. The pain of losing someone will always linger, no matter how confident you are about the relationship.
I have no doubt that we will be able to overcome anything else that comes our way. I want him to believe that, too.
“I missed you so much and felt like he had stolen something irreplaceable from me.”
“I missed you, too, but I need you grounded in our relationship the way you are in your music. We have picked up where we left off, despite being apart from each other, but we still have so much to learn about one another. We weren’t together for that long, as it is.”
“I know. It’s crazy. I hate that we were broken up longer than we were together, but it feels like I have known you an eternity and it still isn’t long enough.”
“You’re such a Romeo.” I chuckle. He picks me up while I laugh, catching me off guard.
“Romeo had a naughty side.” He kisses my neck and I giggle, pushing his shoulder back.
“Save your naughty side for later.” I kiss his pout away and he releases me. “You have to be at the studio, and I need to work.”
“We have time for a quickie.”
“Ah, a modern Romeo,” I tease. “How about instead of focusing on the time we lost, we focus on building up what we have?”
“Yeah.”
“Good answer,” I joke.
Cash growls and pulls me in, holding me so close that I can feel his arousal, his hand placed on my lower back. “I have plans to get to know a lot more about you,” he says roughly into my ear.
My body covers in chills, and I reach up on my toes and bite his ear lobe. “You better keep that promise later.” I kiss his neck and move away to look at him. His eyes are dark and I smile with a raised eyebrow.
“I want the kind of love only found in country songs.” I confess out of nowhere.
“In case you haven’t been listening, that’s what we have. My songs are all about us, our love, our story. And I will continue to write it, grateful I found you.”
