Right then, Billy exited the bathroom and seeing me holding his phone he gave me a quizzical look, "Who was that?" He asked.
I gave him a little smile, "Someone who won't be bothering us again." I told him.
Billy nodded. "That's good news." And leaned in to give me a little kiss on the forehead before getting ready for one of our last days in New York City.
CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX
Leaving New York was easier than I had expected. The city isn't very friendly so we didn't leave with more friends than we had first come with. We were dropped off at the airport by Billy's parents who I'm sure were quietly happy to see the back of us after having us with them for what felt like a long time.
As we boarded the plane and Billy took my hand in his I smiled a sincere smile. The last time I had boarded a plane bound for a job on an American ranch, I had been on my own. Now I had my wonderful partner who I couldn't imagine living without.
We held hands as the plane took off and chatted the whole way about where we would be going. Billy was happy, I was happy. We were going to this new place to work and earn a living so we could afford the lifestyle we wanted, and the wedding we wanted.
We had decided we would marry in Hawaii because it wasn't as hectic as the mainland US and also because there were direct flights to my city in Australia, so plenty of my family and friends could come.
We hadn't discussed our plans with anyone, but we both knew it would all work out. I was flying into my new life with my soon-to-be new husband. What could be sweeter?
