Believe it or not, I felt like shit sitting here. I knew I had the right to be mad at Tahani, but I shouldn’t have dogged her out like I did. It’s funny how it took some shit like this to happen to her for me to realize how wrong I was. Just like everyone was telling me, I should have still respected her because, at the end of the day, she was still the mother of my child.
“This shit is my fault,” Alpha shook his head. “I was too busy bullshitting, we should have been made a move on this nigga.”
“Nah, pops. This is my fault. Had I never been in my feelings, I could have been on my job and maybe, just maybe, I could have protected her. I was too busy acting like a bitch instead of being a man and protecting mine. Tristan’s beef is with me, but yet he’s using Tahani to get to me. I should have got at his ass a long time ago.”
And that was some real shit. I was praying that we got Tahani back alive and safe, because if we did, I swear I was going to spend the rest of my days making it up to her. I hated to admit it but the feelings that I had for Tahani never went away. It was sad that it took this to happen for me to finally come out and say it; now it may be too late.
“Don’t worry, big bro. We’ll get her back,” Keylin said.
“I hope so, I really hope so.”
We sat at Tahani’s house for hours waiting to hear something from Tristan about a ransom call or something but one never came. I wasn’t going to go to sleep until I got Tahani back, no matter how long it took me.
It was four o’clock in the morning when my phone rang. Looking down at the unknown number, I had a mind to ignore it but I decided against it.
“What?” I answered.
“I killed him. I—I killed my dad, Juanie Boy.”
“Hani?” I asked confused.
