“Your job here is over. Your lives will be forgiven if you come back to the place you’re from, forget about everything and everybody you’ve seen in these cities.” Andy’s voice was strong, but the spies were clearly confused by the strange order and a hunter seemingly protecting a pair of wolves. “Didn’t I make myself clear? Or do you want to fight my pets?”

Luckily, Donnie and Annie caught the look of Andy and understood what he wanted. Both of them jumped and growled at the spies, who fled the scene without looking back. Maybe they wouldn’t forget, perhaps they would deliver all the information to Donnie and Annie’s packs. But surely a group of wolves wouldn’t really cross the ocean to look for traitors; surely they wouldn’t mess with scary hunters, surely they would assume that Donnie and Annie ending up trained and under the control of humans was worse than any punishment they could give them. At least those were the things the group was counting on.

Effectively, the threats, the spies, the terrifying letters stopped arriving after that day. Just to be a little safer, the group started moving again, up north and in charming trains that had Annie enamored.

“It was a good plan.” Donnie whispered to Andy, in a moment of quietness they were sharing by themselves.

“Don’t look at me with those eyes. I’m still upset with you. You have to talk about this kind of things with me, Donnie. You have to trust me.” Andy’s voice was stern.

“What eyes?” Donnie simply answered, understanding Donnie’s words but so relieved to be safe and honest and surrounded by friends that he just wanted their relationship back.

”Those sweet, sparkling eyes of yours.” Andy clarified in a soft tone, his hand flying up to caress Donnie’s cheek.

“I have no idea of what you’re talking about.”

“Now, there’s that smile. All bright and perfect. You’re not allowed to make me love you, even more when I’m trying to stay mad at you.”

  “Will you forgive me?”

“Of course.” Andy’s answer was immediate.

“Do you still love me?” Donnie’s question was necessary.

  “I’ll love you forever, Donnie.”

  “I love you, too, Andy.”

  THE END
