“Yes,” she practically yells without a moment’s hesitation.
I exhale the breath I’ve been holding as I remove the ring from the box and place it on her finger.
As we kiss, my brothers hoot and holler. The moment we break, everyone lines up to hug Riley and officially welcome her to the Wilde family.
“I guess this means we’ll have to start planning a wedding,” Harley declares. “I suggest an early summer wedding. It’s the only time that the weather is actually nice in New Jersey.”
Everyone laughs.
For the first time in my life I’m not thinking about how I can escape from New Jersey. I’m actually thinking of ways Riley and I can come back.
“I love you,” Riley declares, as she places a kiss on my cheek.
“I love you more,” I say as I pull her close and give her a deep and needy kiss.
I wonder how much longer we’ll have to do the family holiday thing because I really want to get my fiancée into bed.
