Iomar: A survivor of Watkowa Village, he signed on with Lady Katarina's forces and serves as the musician for Second Company.
Isalen: A young Wold who ran in the Nadir Ebeli.
Ivan: Duke of Masov during the time of the Sundering, Duke Ivan sided with the High King at the Battle of the Plains of Sorrow. After the Sundering he seized many lands and fortresses that had belonged to the High Kings, to include the Ryftguard. He also besieged several Royal Guard at Southwatch in an effort to capture the fortress and control the trade road that it guarded.
Ivellios: The Warden of the Eastwood, Ivellios is the only Viani to live among the Wold. He is there to maintain contact and to enforce the exile. He mostly keeps to himself, although he participates in most of the council meetings at the Founding.
Jack: Lord Jack is Baron Theodore's son and heir. He is also a skilled veteran and a solid tactician and often commands the field forces of Nine Peaks. He's known to be impetuous and brash, but also idealistic and dedicated.
James: Lord James is Earl Joris's son and heir. He is a talented military commander, though his father has raised him to be just as arrogant and entitled as himself.
Jarek: Lord Jarek is the eldest son of the last Baron of Zielona Gora. He spent his childhood at Castle Emberhill and was a childhood friend of Lady Katarina. His younger brother, Maxamillian, is the current Baron of Zielona Gora.
Jasen: Jasen is an experienced soldier who once fought in Duke Peter's army. Sometime after he left the army, his wife and children were killed by Duke Hector's mercenaries. He now fights for Lady Katarina.
Jasmine: A Wold crafter, Jasmine is a very skilled tailor and also a Wizard practitioner of High Magic. Like her twin brother Jasper, she is an insatiable gossip.
Jasper: A Wold crafter, Jasper is a very skilled armorsmith and also a Wizard practitioner of High Magic. Like his sister, he is an insatiable gossip.
Jenkins: A Coxswain from the Ubelfurst, Jenkins was assigned by Captain Elias to guard Lord Admiral Tarken. He is a big, gap-toothed man who is known for picking fights.
Jeroen Kurth: The Minister of Trade for the Grand Duchy of Boir. He made his wealth in trade and is still considered one of the wealthiest men in Boir.
Jessica: Lady Jessica was Grand Duke Becket's sister. She was killed in the same attack that killed him. She had two daughters: Lady Miranda and Lady Samantha.
Jonal Ingail: Kerrel's cousin, he acts as her aide and signaler in battle. Jonal is just as impetituous as his cousin and has a temper to match. He has a well-known love of fine food and drink, a detail which nearly got him killed when Vendakar mercenaries tried to use him as their patsy in the betrayal of Lord Hector.
Joris: Earl Joris of Olstyn is a wealthy and powerful nobleman of the Duchy of Masov. He is known for his political machinations and his own arrogance. Joris's two sons are James and Garrel.
Josef: Josef was a friend of Aerion, Walker, and Quinn. A big, strong man, he didn't much like fighting, but hoped to earn enough money serving Lady Katarina to one day buy his own farm. He and Kara were romantically involved. He was killed by a Noric demon at Southwatch.
Jurgan Stanis: A junior trooper in the Flamebrands.
Kara: Solis's daughter, she lost several friends in the attack on Watkowa Village. She is determined to do her part and fight Hector's forces. She was romantically involved with Josef.
Katarina Emberhill: the only surviving child of Duke Peter and his wife, Lady Alexia, Katarina still lives because she, Bulmor, and Gerlin fled Masov. She grew to adulthood in the Duchy of Marovingia with her mother's family. Katarina is determined to fix things in the Duchy of Masov, but she wants to avoid weakening it with a full out civil war.
Kerrel Flamehair: The public guise of Lady Kerrel Ingail. Under her mercenary name, Kerrel leads her company of heavy cavalry, the Flamebrands. She is also Lord Hector's right hand, a Commander of Cavalry, and secretly his lover. Most recently she thwarted a plot by some of Hector's Vendakar mercenaries to betray him and destroy his army.
Kerrel Ingail: A noblewoman of high birth in the Duchy of Asador. She was exiled from her mother's lands to prevent a full blown war after she killed her sister's murderer. She is commonly known as Kerrel Flamehair. She is also a Restorationist and works with the Luciel Order.
Lamar Braten: Sergeant Lamar is the supply sergeant for the Flamebrands. He is known as 'Grumblebelly' because of his enjoyment of good food and his ability to find it in even the harshest conditions. Like the other Flamebrands, he comes from the Duchy of Asador.
Lindsee Hennings: Lady Lindsee is the wife of Lord Admiral Hennings and the sister to Lord Admiral Christoffer Tarken's dead wife. She is known to be a cold, calculating woman, and it is suspected that her father might have trained her in sorcery and mind magic.
Lindhart: Father to Grand Duke Becket, Lord Lindhart was a Captain in the Boir Ducal Navy. He was killed in action at sea before his father, Grand Duke Andros, died. He had two children, Lord Becket (who became Grand Duke Becket) and Lady Jessica. He also had an illegitimate son, Luthor Stachter, who is a Colonel in Boir's Army.
Listania: A Wold wizard, she is talented and powerful. She despises the 'lesser' races of men who inhabit the outside world and seems to believe that her people should rule the others. She is behind at least one attack on Amelia's life while she has been a Royal Guest.
Ludwik: A former soldier from Duke Peter's army, he now serves Lady Katarina. Ludwik is the Second Section Leader for Third Company under Captain Bartek.
Luthor Stachter: The half-brother to the late Grand Duke Becket, Luthor is the son of a Mageborn and has inherited his mother's heritage. He serves as a Colonel in Boir's Army.
Maksim: A former soldier from Duke Peter's army, he now serves Lady Katarina. Maksim is the First Section Leader for Third Company under Captain Bartek.
Marastar Firstson: The first King of the Wold, he was killed in the attack on his people that also killed the Enchantress, orchestrated by Xavien. He married a common-born woman, Wen, that he met on the edges of the Eastwood. He is the father of Simonel and Tirianis.
Marka Pall: Warlord of the Solak Armen, Marka Pall is a skilled strategist and a powerful warrior. Given the clan structure of the Armen, he doesn't have as much control as he would like over his people. He has taken Xavien's orders before, but is not his willing servant. Marka Pall seeks to make his people safe from the Semat Armen and the Darkstar Empire.
Marie Wachter: Wife to Captain Elias Wachter and mother to Alfanz, Gervais, and Greta Wachter. Marie is the daughter of Fredrick Erlamar, a Knight of the Order of King Gordon. Like her father, she is a descendant of several Royal Guard bloodlines.
Maxamillian: The Baron of Zielona Gora, he is seldom seen and when he does, invariably he does as Covle Darkbit instructs. He sentenced Aerion and two others from Watkowa Village to the Traitor's Death on Darkbit's orders.
Merenedar: A young Wold who ran in the Nadir Ebeli. Her brother went missing when he left the Eastwood to journey the outside world.
Michael Ales: Admiral Ales is a senior Admiral of the Boir Ducal Navy. He is in charge of procurment of new weapons and equipment from the Iron Wizards. He is well known for his love of good food and drink and hasn't served aboard a ship in decades.
Millar: Millar is a former militiaman from Zielona Gora who signed on with Lady Katarina's forces. He serves in First Squad, First Section, Third Company.
Miranda: Lady Miranda is the daughter of Lady Jessica and is married to the heir to the Duke of Marovingia.
Morag: Private Morag is a Earthblood Mageborn who has signed on with Lady Katarina's forces. He serves in First Squad, First Section, Third Company.
Moral Blackheart: The eldest son of High King Haden, last of the High Kings. Moral was his father's general in the North, fighting a campaign against the Armen in Noriel. When his father refused to give him more men to continue his campaign, he betrayed his oaths and led an uprising against the High Kings. He killed his father on the Plains of Sorrow
with the Starblade, which caused it to shatter. Moral forged six shards of it into a crown and claimed Eoriel for himself. He ruled for only a few short cycles before he was assassinated by his nephew, Tanis.
Moratha: Lady Moratha is a witch from the fallen Duchy of Taral. She serves as a mercenary and bounty hunter and seems motivated from personal ambition as much as anything else. She currently works for Lord Hector, although she has worked with Xavien in the past. She knows that Grel secretly works for Xavien. She has mismatched eyes of violet and yellow.
Moren: Moren is a former soldier who signed on with Lady Katarina's forces. He is the Senior Sergeant for First Company under Captain Arren Smith
Morse: Captain Morse is a mercenary in the employ of Lord Hector, though he takes orders from Covle Darkbit. He comes from the Grand Duchy of Boir and deserted from the Boir Army in his youth.
Nakkiki: A big, jovial man, Nakkiki comes from the island of Nilues, far to the south of Eoriel, in the Southern Sea. Nakkiki doesn't speak southerner and has only a limited grasp of any common languages with the locals. He's enormously strong and occasionally seems to possess some form of fire magic.
Nakora: A young Wold who ran in the Nadir Ebeli.
Nanamak: One of the Ancients among the People of the Eastwood, Nanamak is Simonel's mentor and self-appointed bodyguard. In his early years he was a bandit and then an assassin. He is one of the most deadly men that Simonel knows.
Naratak: A young Wold who ran in the Nadir Ebeli.
Nikolas: Lord Admiral Christoffer Tarken's steward. A wizened little man, he has been with Christoffer for most of his career. He is meticulous about ensuring that his master is properly dressed, fed, and groomed.
Noth: One of the most powerful wizards to have ever lived, Noth was the first Starborn to be born upon Eoria after their arrival. Educated in all manner of sciences he applied that knowledge towards the workings of magic. A powerful and mysterious figure, he crafted the Starblade of the High Kings as well as a number of other powerful artifacts. Noth lives in seclusion on the Shrouded Isle.
Oren: Private Oren is a commoner who signed on with Lady Katarina's forces. He serves in First Squad, First Section, Third Company.
Oswald: Lord Oswald is the Minister of Justice for the Grand Duchy of Boir. He is known for being a hard, harsh man, though considered fair in his judgement.
Othis: Lord Othis was a nobleman of the Duchy of Asador. He was also Baron Artar's brother and heir. He was killed by Kerrel.
Pargan: A Captain in the Mongrel's mercenaries, he commands a company of their heavy cavalry. He trained Kerrel Flamehair when she signed up with the Mongrels.
Patris: A young Midshipman who works at the Admiralty House.
Peele: Lady Peele is the Countess of Kempen Island, which was, until recently, part of the Duchy of Masov. When Lord Hector assassinated Duke Peter, her father, Count Rogan, swore allegiance to Grand Duke Becket along with all of his lands and holdings. He was killed, not long after, by an assassin thought to have been sent by Lord Hector. Her cousin was Lady Rinata.
Peter, Duke: Duke Peter was the previous Duke of Masov. He and his wife and son were killed by Lord Hector's mercenaries at Castle Emberhill.
Peter: Peter was Duke Peter's son, and was only a boy when he was killed by Hector's mercenaries.
Peter Shook: Captain Peter Shook is an officer of the Boir Ducal Navy assigned to the Southern Fleet. He is loyal to Lord Admiral Hennings.
Piotr Anhar: Private Anhar is a soldier in Lord Hector's Army of the South and serves at the Ryftguard.
Quinn Makelsen: Quinn is a former printer's apprentice from Longhaven. After his mother was beaten by one of Hector's mercenaries, Quinn attacked the mercenary and was badly beaten as a result. He fled Longhaven to avoid any further repercussions and signed on with Lady Katarina's forces. He is good friends with Aerion and Walker and he is interested in learning magic from Cederic.
Rachel Ingail: Lady Rachel Ingail is Kerrel's mother and the Baroness of the Northward. She had twin daughters, Moira and Kerrel, but Moira was killed.
Radomil: A former militiaman who joined up with Lady Katarina's forces to fight Duke Hector. He is a Squad Leader in Third Company.
Randal Schultz: A former midshipman who served aboard the Ubelfurst and later aboard the Mircea after her recapture. Midshipman Schultz attempted to rape Siara Pall, who savagely beat him. He later put forward charges against her for striking an officer and attempted murder, and due to a lack of witnesses, Captain Elias was forced to find her guilty of striking an officer. Even so, Captain Elias and Lord Admiral Tarken ensured that the midshipman's career with the Navy ended.
Rasev Ironhelm: A mercenary captain who has fought all across Eoria's three continents, he hales from Aoriel. He is a solid, pragmatic man who cares little about causes and only about the pay. Even so, he has walked away from jobs before when he feels that his employers are self-destructive or dangerous.
Renhard: Captain Renhard is Lord Hector's Commander of the Ryftguard. A native of Longhaven, his loyalty to Hector is unquestioned and he is a hard-bitten, tough soldier who has experience fighting Armen and Norics.
Richtoffen: The former Minister of Defense for the Grand Duchy of Boir, Baron Richtoffen was poisoned by one of his servants in the employ of Lord Admiral Hennings. He was replaced by Lord Schilt. He had one son, Altus, who has taken over his father's lands.
Rinata: Lady Rinata was the wife of Baron Estrel. She and her husband were murdered by Hector.
Samantha: Lady Samantha is the daughter of Lady Jessica and the niece of the late Grand Duke Becket. She was in Freeport when Lord Admiral Hennings seized it and is one of the hostages that he has there.
Samen the Younger: Samen is a hunter from Watkowa Village. He lost his pregnant wife in the attack led by Grel. He acts as a military leader for many of the survivors.
Seraphai: Noth's daughter, Seraphai inherited her mother's Viani bloodline. She is an extremely talented mage. She lives under a curse, bestowed by Andoral Elhonas's sword. She is gifted with glimpses of the future, in which she sees possible salvation with the restoration of the High Kings.
Schilt: Earl of Wochton, Lord Schilt is the acting Minister of Defense for the Grand Duchy of Boir. He was an experienced commander and has fought both Armen and Norics in the northern parts of the Grand Duchy of Boir until his injury.
Schmidt: A merchant who runs a small boat around the Boir Sea, he often acts as a smuggler for rare and expensive goods, many of which he trades with the Wold.
Schoelhorn: General Schoelhorn is one of the senior Generals in Boir's Army. He is an irate, grouchy man, who often seems to only find pleasure in grumbling about the decisions of the nobility. He is, nevertheless, one of the most loyal officers to Boir.
Siara: Sometimes called Siara Pall by southerners, Siara is the daughter and only child of Warlord Marka Pall of the Solak Armen. Her mother, Virana, was the daughter of the Warlord Djaan Kenobus. She is a skilled mage and healer. She was given to the Semat Armen as a hostage for her father's good behavior in the campaign against Boir.
Simonel Greeneye: The King of the People of the Eastwood, he is considered a good leader and a great warrior. His father, Marastar Firstborn, was recently murdered in an attack sent by Xavien. He has welcomed Amelia Tarken as a royal guest and he harbors feelings for her. His twin sister is Tirianis.
Solis: Solis was the innkeeper for Watkowa Village. He is now the supply master for Lady Katarina's forces. He's a sour, distrustful man. His daughter is Kara.
Steffan: Lieutenant Steffan is an officer of the Boir Marine Regiment. He originally was the commander of the windship's Marine contingent but has since become a part of Lord Admiral Tarken's ground operations. His father was a Sergeant under Lord Hector, but was killed participating in the assassination of Baron Estrel.
Stegner: Admiral Stegner was a senior Admiral of the Boir Ducal Navy. Stegner and his entire family was killed when his car caught fire.
Strasser: Commander
Strasser is the Commander of Prefects for the Citidel of Boirton. He was appointed to the position by his cousin, Lord VanEggar, and is generally considered to be harmless but rather ineffectual.
Tamas Jenkins: He is Coxswain Jenkin's son by a prostitute on Den Street. His mother caught ill and died and he is being raised by his aunt. He wants to go to sea like his father.
Tanis: The son of Terin and nephew of Moral Blackheart, Tanis grew up in hiding during his uncle's reign of terror. Under the guidance of one of Noth's Shrouded Wizards, Tanis crafted the tip of the sundered Starblade into an arrow and used it to assassinate his uncle. Tanis was killed by Moral's guards while trying to escape.
Tarjak Rusk: The Warlord of the Semat Armen, Tarjak commands tens of thousands of warriors and though he claims title to leading the entire body of the Semat, in reality, he commands merely the largest faction of them. Tarjak is a violent and cruel man, who seeks to harden his people into a weapon that will crush the weaker people in the south. Tarjak works closely with Xavien Tarken and pays him homage as much from fear as respect.
