“You cannot let what happened with your ex affect your future… I know how much he hurt you and with everything that happened after, but I want you to be happy. You deserve to be with someone that makes you happy and would do anything for you.”

  “I know, I’m just scared…”

“We’re home!” Jacob called out as they walked through the front door. I looked up and froze.

  Joseph

I was pleased to see Bonnie when I walked in through the door; I wasn’t prepared for her to look upset. I smiled at her and she just looked past me.

“No.” I heard her whimper. “What is he doing here? He can’t be here… Get him out!” She screamed the last bit. I ran over to her, she backed herself up against the wall and was looking at Damien, the newest member of our fighting team. We had brought him home to have a drink with us and get to know him better.

“What is it, sweetness?” I asked Bonnie as I placed my hands on either side of her face. She kept shaking her head from side to side, not looking at me. Tears had begun to gather in the corner of her eyes and as soon as she blinked they fell.

  “Him, get him out… I can’t. I can’t, he can’t be here… Please.” She finally looked at me and I could see the hurt in her eyes. I stepped back from her, nodded and faced Damien, I saw in the corner of my eye that Matt had pulled her into his chest and she buried her face into his chest. I was just about to tell him to leave when he growled;

“What’s this? You sleeping with both of them?”

“Who the fuck are you to talk to her like that?” Jacob shouted.

“He’s Bonnie’s ex.” Rose announced as she placed her arms around Jacob. Everyone went quiet and all I could hear was Bonnie’s quiet sobs.

  “I think you should leave.” I told Damien. He smirked and turned towards the door. Before he left, he cockily said;

“Don’t get too comfy with her, she’s mine.” We all stood still and stared at the door he walked out of and Bonnie cried harder. Rose walked over to her and pulled her away from Matt.

“Come with me.” Bonnie nodded and Rose walked her towards her and Jacob’s bedroom and shut the door.

  Chapter 7

  Matt

“What was all that about?” I asked Jacob and Joseph. I was confused, I didn’t understand her reaction. I knew she had history with her ex but the way she looked when she saw him was as if she was scared of him.

“You knew she had an issue with her ex.” Jacob told me.

“Yeah, but she looked terrified of him… Has Rose said what’s happened in her past?” I was hoping Jacob had some information he could tell me.

“No, man. You know how loyal she is to Bonnie, they’re like sisters.”

“I’m gonna go check on her.” Joseph said.

“No, I was about to.” I stated.

“Well, too bad.” Joseph had already left the living room and was headed towards the bedrooms.

“Don’t be an idiot; she is mine this week you know that.” I grabbed at his shoulder and pulled him back. He swung at me and I dodged him.

“She is yours next week.” He growled at me.

“What are you two going on about? Why is she his next week?” Jacob asked. I explained to him the arrangement we decided to try, and how we were both for it because we both wanted her for ourselves.

“Well, if you’re both happy with that, stop arguing over her. I will go and check on her.” Jacob walked to the bedroom and we headed back towards the living room.

  Bonnie

“I’m ok, It just freaked me out to see him, that’s all.” I reassured Rose. It was like seeing a ghost, I never in a million years expected to see Damien again. I thought he had gone away to college. We only had a short relationship, we were only together for a year but a lot had happened in that time and I had fallen in love with him. So that was why it hurt so much when he cheated on me.

  Knock. Knock. Knock.

“Babe?” Jacob called out. Rose looked at me and I nodded to say that she could open the door.

“I’m gonna go clean up.” I walked into the bathroom to wash my face. I had mascara streaks on my cheeks and my eyes were red and puffy. I could hear Jacob and Rose mumbling. Once I was cleaned up I walked out of the bathroom and they both stopped talking.

  “What’s going on?” I asked.

“Are you going to date both of them?” Rose asked, walking towards me.

“I like them both, but I know I need to make a decision, which one to be with one hundred percent. The only way I could decide was to spend time with both of them separately. Is it a silly idea?” I looked at Rose.

“No, you need to get to know both of them properly, especially if you are going to put your heart on the line.”

Rose made a lot of sense and I knew I should have told her, she was engaged to Joseph’s twin brother, but I knew she would support me in what I decided to do and she would be honest enough to tell me if I was making a bad decision.

“Bonnie, can you go and see those damn guys. Before they start fighting.” Jacob said, sighing. As soon as he said fight I looked up at him. I was confused.

“Why are they going to fight?”

“Over you… I’m sorry, but you need to sort this out and quick. They have been friends for years and I don’t want to see that ruined.”

  “Jacob!” Rose scolded him.

“No, Rose, it’s fine. He’s right… I will go and sort this.” I stormed past Jacob and walked into the living room, only to find Joseph and Matt arguing.

“Hey!” I called out, trying to get their attention. They were almost nose to nose and shouting out over each other so I couldn’t make out what they were saying. I got in between them and pushed them apart with a hand on each of their chests.

“What the hell is going on?” They both started to tell me at the same time what the problem was.

“Shut the hell up, you sound like you’re in school. If you two are gonna fight over me then I will just leave…”

“No…” Matt began but I held my hand up in front of him to tell him to let me finish.

“I will take myself out of the situation; I won’t have you ruining your friendship over me.” Neither of them spoke. “I will be back on Saturday to help Rose and Jacob move, take the time to think about what you both want.” I looked from Matt to Joseph and back to Matt. “See you both on Saturday.” I stepped away from them and walked out of the flat. I found myself looking around as I climbed into my car. It felt like someone was watching me and I was worried that Damien was going to bother me. I couldn’t get what he’d said out of my head, about the guys not getting too comfy with me as I was his. I most definitely was not his and never wanted to be near him again.

  Chapter 8

  Bonnie

I had done what I said I would, I stayed away from the guys until now. It was Saturday and I hadn’t been around at all to help Rose pack, I felt bad as I knew she would be freaking out that they wouldn’t get it all done.

  I knocked on their front door and pushed it open as I called out;

  “Hello?”

I saw Matt and he smiled at me as he walked towards me. “Hey, babe.” He kissed me briefly on the lips, it was as if he hadn’t been apart from me at all and this was the natural thing to do.

“Where’s Rose? I bought coffee.” I held up the takeaway tray with four coffees in it. I had drunk mine on the ride over. “Here.” I handed him one and he smiled at me.

“She’s in the bedroom… I’m not going in there.”

“Why?” He shook his head and I headed in the direction. As I got to the door I could hear Rose yelling at Jacob.

“No, not in there… Why would you put that in there?”

“Hello?” I called out again as I pushed the door open. “I brought coffee.”

“Thank God you’re here.” Rose looked stressed and Jacob looked annoyed.

“What’s going on?” I handed each of them a cup, which only left one for Joseph. I wondered where he
was.

“I can’t do anything right, I’m going to start loading the car.” Jacob gave me a look as if to say good luck as he walked out of the room.

  “You ok?” I asked Rose.

“He kept putting things in wrong boxes…” Her voice cracked like she was upset. I placed the last full coffee cup on the dressing table and walked towards her.

“Hey, what’s wrong? Are you ok?” She shook her head and as she looked at me I saw a tear rolling down her face. “What’s happened?” I sat on the floor next to her and pulled her into my arms.

“I’m ok, I just always thought my Mum and Dad would be here to help me move into my first proper home with the man that I love.” Rose barely spoke to her parents, she hadn’t seen them for a few months and they had only just started talking on the phone again, after she left home and moved in with Jacob.

“Do you want me to call them?”

“NO! I don’t want them here, not when they won’t accept Jacob into their lives… I’m ok, I’m just gonna clean myself up and then finish packing these boxes. I missed you this week.”

“I missed you too… I’m gonna take Joseph his coffee. Is he in his room?” I asked, standing up and picking up the coffee cup.

“Yeah, I think so.” I nodded at her and left the room. Joseph’s room was next to Jacob and Rose’s, so I didn’t have far to walk. I knocked and there was no reply. I knocked again and then opened the door slowly and quietly. If he was asleep, I didn’t want to wake him, though he was going to have to get up soon to help with the move. The room was in darkness and Joseph was laying on his stomach, his back was bare and I wanted to run my fingers over his muscles, but I didn’t. I placed the coffee cup on his bed side table, as I went to walk away he grabbed my arm. I yelped and he pulled me onto the bed.

“Mmm, this is a nice way to wake up… I’ve missed your pretty face.” We were both laying on our sides facing each other. He placed his hand on my cheek and nuzzled my nose with his before placing his lips against mine.

“I bought you some coffee… The guys have started loading the cars, are you planning on helping today?” I smiled at him.

“I’d much rather stay here with you.” He winked. I loved that he was playful and cocky; it was one of the things that drew me to him, along with the gorgeous face, muscles, tattoos and messed up spiky hair.

“Come on, Rose has already shouted at Jacob, you wanna be next?”

“Hell no, she can be scary when she wants to be.” I laughed at him as I climbed off of his bed. I reached over the bed and pulled the curtains open. “No, bright lights.” He shoved his head back under the duvet and I grabbed the end and pulled it off of him completely. I got a nice surprise as I hadn’t expected him to be naked and he was sporting morning wood. I didn’t realise I was staring and licking my lips until Joseph cleared his throat.

“Oh, um… I’ll let you get ready.” I turned around and as I was about to leave, my phone pinged. I pulled it out and saw that I had a text from an unknown number.

I missed you, can’t wait until you are mine again. D x

My stomach churned and I felt sick, I had to grab a hold of the wall to stop myself from falling to the floor. Why was he texting me? Where did he get my number? Why did he want me? I saw a possessive gleam in his eye the other day and it made me feel uncomfortable. I had this strange feeling all week that I was being watched. Was he watching me? Am I in danger?

“You ok, sweetness?” Joseph asked, placing his hands on my hips from behind me. I quickly stuffed my phone into my pocket and nodded my head as I reached for the door handle.

“I better go and help Rose.” I didn’t want anyone to know that he was contacting me, it would only piss off Joseph and Matt and I didn’t want to be the reason they argued with someone else. Especially someone they had to see at their fights.

  Matt

I was eager to get Jacob and Rose moved into their new flat, once they were in, Joseph was going to be staying there and then I was going to get Bonnie all to myself all week. I was going to show her that she didn’t want or need anyone else but me. I was going to treat her so well that she wouldn’t want to spend the second week with Joseph. By the end of the week she was going to be all mine.

“Well, that’s everything moved in. See you all in a week.” I said to everyone in the room as I grabbed Bonnie’s hand and started walking towards the front door. Bonnie pulled back, I looked at her and she was about to say something when Rose interrupted her.

“Wait, you guys are still coming to the house warming party on Friday right?”

“Of course we will be here… Let me know if you need help with anything.” Bonnie told Rose as she pulled out of my grasp and hugged her. Bonnie and I walked towards the front door and as I turned around to say bye, I saw that Joseph was following us.

“Yo, man, what you doing?” I asked him.

“This is their first night in their new home; I am not staying here tonight.”

“You said you would move out for the week…”

“I will, but technically the week doesn’t start until Monday, unless you wanna start now and I can have her from Friday.”

“No way, man, she will be mine at the party and no-one else’s.” I could see Bonnie out of the corner of my eye and she had her arms crossed over her chest and she was glaring at both of us. I looked over to her.

“Have you both finished trying to pass me around like I’m a doll?” She snapped.

“Babe, I…” She placed her hand up in the air telling me to be quiet.

“Joseph, you don’t have to move out of the flat, it’s not like I’m moving in.”

“But…” I started but got interrupted again by Bonnie.

“I will be Matt’s for the week, so there will be no touching, no kissing, no flirting…”

“Oh, come on, sweetness, I flirt with everyone. I can’t just turn that off.” Joseph argued.

“Well, you better learn how to, as when I am yours for the week I don’t want you flirting with any other girls. I will be yours and you will be mine.” He nodded at her. “I’m exhausted, it’s been a long day. All I wanna do is go home, climb into a hot bath and then crawl into bed.”

“Come on, I’ll walk you to your car.” I offered her my hand and she took it.

“Bye, guys.” She called out to Rose and Jacob and then she looked at Joseph and smiled. He nodded his head towards her and we left. Once we reached her car, she unlocked it and I opened the door for her.

“So, Monday I wanna take you out.” I told her.

“Ok, where are we going?” She asked, quietly.

“It’s a surprise. Wear a dress and bring a toothbrush.” I winked at her.

“Are you picking me up? Or shall I come to yours after college?”

“Whatever you want, babe.” She climbed in and put her seat belt on.

“I will come straight from college, I can use Jacob’s room to get ready in.”

“Joseph is moving into that room so we can have our own bathrooms. You can get ready in my room.”

“Ok. See you at college on Monday.”

  Ping.

“Is that your phone, babe?” I asked her. She nodded and began to dig through her bag.

“I had best check it, in case it’s Rose.” I watched her as she tapped her phone to bring it out of sleep mode, she read the message and then threw it back into her bag. She didn’t look happy.

“Everything ok?” I ran the back of my fingers over her arm.

“Oh, yeah… One of those PPI texts. See you Monday.”

I leant inside the car and gave her a kiss, she smiled at me as she started the engine and as soon as I closed her door she drove away. I walked over to my car and headed home.

  ***

Joseph and I decided that we didn’t want to sit at home for the evening. Even though Rose had only been living with us for a few months it was strange her not being there, strange her not taking control of the TV. We felt like we were at a loose
end so we headed to The Archer for a few drinks.

“Here, man, drink this.” I passed Joseph a shot of tequila and we shot them back together.

“Aahh, that one burned… Are you feeling it yet, dude?” He slurred to me.

“Maybe a little.” I smirked at him. “Look at the blonde over there, she wants you. Go get her man.” I slapped him on the back and he stumbled.

“Shit, how much have I had to drink?”

“Don’t know. You gonna go for it?”

“No way, Bonnie will kill me.” Exactly, was my thought. As Joseph turned his back I nodded the girl over and I saw her fluff her hair and re-arrange her tits.

“Hey, handsome.” She purred to Joseph.

“Not interested.” He told her, pushing her away. She looked at me and I gave her an encouraging nod. Earlier this girl had come up to me and asked if my friend was single, of course, I said yes. Technically he is single, I just didn’t mention the fact that he was hoping to get the girl we both wanted. I knew I was playing dirty and if Bonnie ever found out what I’d done, I wouldn’t be her favourite person on the planet. I knew that she and Joseph had feelings for each other, but I truly believed that she would be better off with me. All she needed to see was Joseph’s man whoring ways and she wouldn’t want to be with him as she wouldn’t be able to trust him. I knew he was my friend and I shouldn’t do this, but at the end of the day I was in love with Bonnie and would do anything for her to be all mine.

Hey babe, what you doing? x

  She replied almost instantly.

Just got into bed, what you doing? x

At The Archer. Joseph is wasted x

  Seriously? Get him home x

He doesn’t want to leave. He is having fun x
