In The Midst Of Chaos: An MC Romance
Page 18
Nash held on to my hand as he walked us down the stairs. He had a shit-eating grin all over his handsome face, and I walked in with sex hair. I didn’t care, that could be my damn crown around the bitches here.
People were drinking and dancing. Others were a step away from fucking. And by some, I mean Nate. He had a girl on his lap, and I was pretty sure he was fingering her. Classy. Next to him, Andre had another one on his lap while he talked to Ace and Chops.
“How much do you think he’s going to hate us after we rain on his parade?” I asked Nash as I looked at Duncan.
To say he took his vow way better than Nash and I did was an understatement. Duncan was in black jeans that rode low on his hips and a shirt, his Death Disciples insignia on full display.
He was sitting on a chair while a whore sat on his lap and poured shots onto her breasts, and he would lick them off.
“Maybe let’s wait until he at least gets fucked,” Nash joked, but that wasn’t a bad idea.
He led us to the back where Axton and Gunner sat, a little more secluded from the fuckfest.
Nash sat down, then brought me down to his lap just as people started to chant. We all turned to look at the commotion, and found out that it was my aunt Riley letting the brothers do body shots off her.
Gunner’s gaze was on her, but there was no interest in his eyes—and my aunt was a smokeshow. He stared at Axton and then at us.
“You told him yet?” he asked about Duncan.
“Tomorrow,” Nash told him.
Axton had been quieter lately since Huxley had left. I couldn’t blame him—we all felt the cut of his betrayal, but there was nothing any of us could do now. We couldn’t dwell on the past, and pointing fingers wasn’t going to get us anywhere.
“Let’s hope he agrees,” Gunner muttered, looking at Duncan.
“He has to do it,” Axton said.
It was going to be the first thing the club asked of him as a full member.
Mayor Romero was giving us trouble, and the only way to stop him without violence was to get someone on the inside.
“I think they went to school together,” Nash uttered.
“She was the one who got him expelled from private school,” Axton said as he took a sip of his bourbon.
“Well then, I guess revenge is a good incentive,” I told the men.
I watched as Duncan motorboated the new girl on his lap, and he most definitely wouldn’t like the fact that he had to go back to school and befriend the mayor’s daughter. But what the club wanted, the club got, and Oscar Romero was turning into a thorn in our side.
Nash and I stayed a little while longer at the party. I sat on his lap and smiled at the people who came to greet us. I stared down at all the girls that wanted a piece of him, and he ignored the world while he planned how to take over the world with the people at our table.
“Wanna go for a ride?” I asked him as I led him to the garage.
“Baby, as much as I love you, I’m not riding bitch,” he mused.
“Don’t try to be cute,” I told him.
I pulled out the keys to his mom’s car.
“Chops gave it back to me today,” I said, filled with glee.
It was a lot of work and time to restore a classic car.
Nash pushed me inside the garage and then smacked my ass as he made his way to the passenger seat.
“Let’s go before it rains,” he said as he hopped in. “It’d be a shame to drive this baby with the top down.”
I grinned at him as I made my way into the driver’s side.
A few minutes after I pulled out and we had been driving with no destination, I told him to open the dashboard’s compartment.
He humored me, but I saw in my peripheral vision when he froze. In a black envelope was my name written in his mother’s handwriting.
Turned out that the boys had found a hidden envelope when they were fixing up the car. I never thought Eleanor would leave me anything behind with the car, but I should have known better.
Dear Finley,
If you are reading this, it means I am already gone. I am so sorry that I never got to see your sweet face again. I know that with you, my family is in good hands. Take care of my boys; they were the most precious things I had in this world.
If Duncan gives you shit for me giving you the car, tell him I didn’t want skank pussy on my leather seats. As for my other boys, keep an eye on them because when they hurt, they keep it to themselves.
I always knew you’d end up with one of them, but I hope you stay with Nash for love and not Huxley out of loyalty to your father. Pleasing others never gets us anywhere. Regardless, I know you’re going to do right by the one you pick. Until you figure it out, give them hell, baby.
Love, Eleanor.
Nash looked up at me with tears in his eyes. His mom approved, and I think deep down, I knew she always did.
“Having you lessens the sting of losing her,” he said hoarsely.
I gave him a sad smile as I kept driving.
Having him filled the ache I’d had since my parents passed away. Nash held onto my hand as I took us on the road to nowhere, but that didn’t matter because we had each other.
Together we could withstand any storm.
