Hurricane August (Loving the Curvy Girl Book 5)

I cried out, my nails digging into Levi’s shoulders as he continued to increase his speed and force, slamming himself inside of me until stars exploded behind my eyes. My back arched up off of the mattress, pressing my chest tight against his as I screamed out his name, every muscle in my body constricting and releasing with wave after wave of orgasm.
Levi followed soon after, his rhythm faltering as my name poured from lips, his hips snapping sharply against me as his cock jerked it’s release inside of me.
We fell back to the bed together, his weight landing on me swift and hard before he could roll to the side and gather me into his arms.
His lips found mine again and he kissed me deeply, slowly and sweetly. We clasped hands as we each fought to catch our breath, our hearts beating steadily in unison.
“You’re amazing,” he whispered after a minute.
I opened my eyes to see him raking his gaze down my body. I felt a blush heat my cheeks and I reached for the sheet, wanting to cover myself and hide from his scrutiny, but he pulled it from my fingers and tossed it aside.
“Beautiful,” he said, brushing a strand of hair from my face and meeting my gaze. “You’re really going to marry me?”
“If you really want me to,” I assured him.
“Baby, I’ve wanted nothing else for most of my life. I was just too stupid to realize it.”
“Me, too,” I admitted. “I can’t believe it took us so long to get here.”
“I know,” he agreed. “You’d think you’d have seen it in one of those crystal balls or something.”
“Maybe I did,” I teased him.
“Really?” His eyebrows raised.
“You don’t believe in crystal balls,” I reminded him.
“No,” he agreed. “I don’t. But I do believe in you.”
It may have been the sweetest thing Levi Morton had ever said to me. I smiled and leaned over to kiss him softly.
“So, what now?” I asked.
“Whatever you want,” he answered seriously. “I’ll put you on a plane to Vegas and marry you tonight, or we can have a big audacious wedding that offends every one of your sensibilities.”
“Your mother would kill us if we eloped,” I told him seriously.
“Audacity it is then,” he said.
“Isn’t there anything in between?” I asked him.
“Not where the Morton’s are concerned,” he said with a laugh.
“I love you,” I told him.
“I love you, too.” He pulled me over to lay my head on his chest. “Always have. Always will.” He pressed his lips to the top of my head and sighed. “My own personal Hurricane August.”
I smiled and settled in against him. I still wasn’t sure what was going to happen now, but I knew without a doubt that it was going to be great.
Epilogue
~Levi~
Eight years later…
“Daddy!” Fae called out in her tattle-tale voice. “Eli’s getting into Mommy’s cards again!”
I rolled my eyes and walked out into the shop to find my daughter standing over my son, her hands on her hips, glaring at her little brother.
The look on her face was a twin of her mother’s exasperated expression, and I couldn’t hold back a smile at the sight of it. I crouched down and pulled the cards from Eli’s hands, setting them back on the table before scooping him into my arms and carrying him back to the office with me.
August was due back from her metaphysical conference any minute now, and I couldn’t wait. These kids had been driving me crazy. It was bad enough I’d agreed to watch the shop for her while she was gone, but Mom hadn’t been able to watch the kids and they’d been getting into everything.
I put our two year old son in his pack and play, and asked Fae to sit with him while I tried to put the cards back into some kind of order.
I was sitting at the table, sorting out the different decks when my wife walked through the door.
We stared at each other for a minute.
“It’s not what it looks like!” I insisted, standing up and backing away from the table as if she’d just walked in on me watching porn.
She laughed and dropped her bag, rushing toward me and throwing herself into my arms.
I kissed her deeply and swung her around. She’d only been gone three days but it had felt like a lifetime.
“I can’t believe you left me all alone with these monsters,” I whispered as I set her back on her feet.
“Where are my angels?” she asked, looking around.
“In the office,” I said pointing toward the back. “Eli is obsessed with your tarot cards and won’t stop getting into them.” I gestured toward the table. “I was trying to put them back in order before you got home.”
She looked at the pile of cards and grinned, then slapped my ass before heading back to see our kids.
“He’s a sensitive,” she called over her shoulder at me. “He’s going to be a great diviner someday.”
I shook my head and smiled. She was convinced that both of our children were metaphysically gifted and took after her. However, Fae had been begging me for a briefcase for her seventh birthday, so I was pretty sure our daughter was going to grow up and rule the world.
Eli…well, Eli did seem to be taking after his mother.
The last eight years with Auggie had opened my eyes to a lot of things, but I still had a hard time believing in all the things she did.
We were a good match, we balanced each other out well, and we’d made some spectacularly beautiful kids. I followed her to the backroom and watched as she bent down to pick up our son.
My head cocked to the side, examining her gorgeous ass, and realized that it might be time to bring another amazing Morton into the world. Granted, most of what I thought about these days involved knocking up my wife, but as she cuddled Eli and Fae wrapped her arms around her mother’s legs, I thought Auggie might be ready to try again, too.
August turned around and caught me watching them. Her gaze narrowed as she studied me, then her eyes widened and she grinned. It wasn’t psychic ability that let her know exactly what I was thinking. It was just the years between us.
She looked down at the kids, then back at me, and nodded.
Okay, maybe we were all a little psychic.
