Mischief and Mistletoe
by Matthews, Lena
What do you get when you combine a ranch, a snowstorm, two couples, one of whom is expecting a child any day now, and one precocious four-year-old? A Christmas that no one will ever forget. Tamara Crichton is determined to spend the holidays with her best friend, Charlotte Wilcox, and she’s not going to let little things like being nine-months pregnant, her husband Russell’s ire, or a few snow flurries stand in the way. Of course she’s not exactly planning on mentioning these things to her husband ahead of time. She’s devious not stupid. There’s going to be hell to pay when their husbands find out Tamara snuck over during the storm. And even though Charlotte knows she should feel a little bit bad, she doesn’t. Charlotte loves spending time with her family and friends, and if she and Tamara had to be somewhat devious to make it happen this year, so be it. There’s nothing wrong with the house being filled with both mischief and mistletoe, besides it’s just a slight snowstorm, what’s the worst that could happen? Tamara’s water breaking, that’s what! Now it’s a race to see who is going to show up first, Santa or the baby.
