Fairies of Light

After cooking for the FOL so many times, I’ve learned that I can cook in heels without any problems. Instead of making Violet’s version of lasagna, I make my own version of lasagna. I’m able to find my way around his expensive kitchen quickly. He remains seated, and I snap a glass of champagne for him. He cocks his head, and he smiles with approval. After I make sure that Ember isn’t coming downstairs, I snap my fingers, and set the table up faster. With another snap of my fingers, and the lasagna bakes in the oven. The salad, garlic bread, veggies, and deserts are ready to go.
He makes me sit down, “You’ve already gone above and beyond, what I could ever imagine.”
I lean in and kiss his lips tenderly. He pulls me to his lap, and he enjoys the free make out session. My lips nibble on his neck, and he moves his firm hands behind my thighs. After I nibble on his neck, I found the spot that really gets to him. My lips tug on his earlobes, which causes him to slam me on the countertop. He kisses the insides of my thighs. I gasp as he hikes up my dress.
“You’re making me a very bad fairy, Rosalie. I never wanted to fuck someone as badly as I want to fuck you right now.”
He leans over top of me, and I realize that I want him badly too, “I want to fuck you too, Spike.”
He stares directly in my eyes, while he rubs his hand between my thighs. I gasp as he continues to build excitement and pleasure. My hands eagerly fumble with his belt to find his enormous bulge in his pants to toy with it. He closes his eyes, and lets out a low moan. We are both stroking each other heavily.
Unfortunately, Snow interrupts us, “Oh, shit! I didn’t mean to walk in on you two!”
Spike lifts his head up, and he realizes that Snow is standing right there. My hand is over his bulge. Now this is definitely one of those awkward moments.
Spike stops after he realizes what he’s doing, “I’m so sorry, Rosalie. I’m not acting professional. I don’t understand what’s getting into me lately. I don’t want you to think that I’m taking advantage of you, because I care deeply about you.”
I attempt to kiss his lips again, but he pushes me back, “We need to stop this right now, Rosalie.” The disappointment sets in and then the confusion starts.
The thirty minutes of heaving petting sadly concludes. The buzzard sounds, and I have to take the lasagna from the oven. I dress every plate with a few snaps of my fingers. Gabe and Ember arrive together right after I snap the last plate on the table.
We have a great supper. Spike sits at one end of the table, and I sit on the far end to face him. The meal that I make for everyone is excellent. MJ enjoys the meal I make also. I toy with my food, and I feel like shit. Ember eats her second plate of food. Gabe takes a third plate, along with the rest of the guys. I somehow suck down my pride, and crack jokes to make everyone laugh. I think I impress him with my social skills.
We end the day by watching a boring romance movie. Spike eyes me from across the room. I cross my arms, while I watch this dull movie. Spike joins me on the loveseat. He pulls an ottoman to us, and then he lifts his legs up. Ember and Gabe are making out underneath a blanket together. Spike makes sure that Ember is engrossed with Gabe. Spike quickly snaps a blanket over us, and he wraps his arm around my shoulders. I lean back and start to toy with his pants.
“You need to cool it, Rosalie. I have no problem taking what is yours,” he whispers.
I ignore him, and I slide my hand down his pants to make him gasp. The room is dark, and nobody pays attention to us. I start to rub his man wand outside his boxers. He unbuckles his pants quietly, and he leans back even further to allow me to continue. My heavy pets turn into rapid strokes to make him gasp. He pulls my hand inside his boxers, and I realize what he’s been hiding from me. I never expect it to be that big. His hand aids mine with stroking him. He grips my hip tightly with his other hand, and I finish him off. He bites into a pillow. I grin and I kiss his cheek after I finish torturing him. I face his perfect crystal eyes, and he closes them for a minute with pure delight on his face.
My cell phone rings, and I happen to glance down to see that it’s Skylar. He wants to return the favor, but I hold a finger up. Not to disturb the others, I move my conversation with her to the kitchen. Spike follows right behind me. Once, I settle in Spike’s kitchen, I place Skylar on speaker.
“How are you doing, Aunt Skylar?”
“I don’t even know if you even know this, but Puck and I are marrying on August the twenty-fourth. This is coming up quickly, Rosalie. I hope that you will be here in time.”
“I will be there, Aunt Skylar. I heard that you have other news to tell me.”
“I bet momma already beat me to it! We are expecting our first child, and our baby is a boy.”
Spike and I smile fondly at each other, “How is Puck handling all of this?”
“Puck is sitting right here beside me.”
“How are you doing, Rosalie?” I hear his voice finally.
I miss hearing his voice too, “I’m doing absolutely great.” I nervously bit my bottom lip, and toy with my hair.
“Have you seen my brother’s stupid commercial by chance? If you happen to run into him, will you please tell him to call me? My brother is a huge dumbass for holding this stupid ‘marry me’ dance competition,” Puck quickly changed the topic.
I pretend to play stupid, “I haven’t seen anything like that. What’s it all about? I would tell him, but I’m afraid to admit that I haven’t seen him either.”
“My idiot baby brother chose to embarrass our family by holding this stupid dance competition. If you can out dance him, then he will marry you. He’s giving one lucky woman one million dollars. It surprises me that you haven’t heard about this yet, Rosalie.”
Spike peeks at me, and he starts to back away cautiously, but he pulls out two cups for coffee.
“This is the first time I’ve heard about it.”
Skylar sounds indifferent, “I’m surprised too, and I thought for sure that you would have heard about this, Rosalie. I know you can get him, and we’re actually kind of hoping that you would enter his insane contest to show him what you have. I know for a fact that you would give him a run for his money.”
“But, you told me to turn it down a notch—or did you forget? You and Oberon basically yelled at me for embarrassing the family the last time I danced.”
Spike leans in closer to hear Skylar scoff over the phone, “This is the one time that you have our blessing to dance vulgar again. You can keep that notch, Rosalie.”
“When is his competition?”
Puck sounds like he’s taking out a piece of paper, “The contest is four days before our wedding. We are kind of hoping that you would enter. We figure that if you win, he will have to return home to Avalon to follow you. I know my brother very well. He will not be able to resist you, especially if you beat him fairly. I know that I’m asking a lot from you Rosalie, but I would really appreciate it, if you would enter his stupid contest and take him down.”
Spike drops his mug, and it shatters all over the floor, “I’m sorry,” he mumbles under his breath. Spike snaps his fingers, and he cleans up his mess.
“I need to think about it long and hard. I have another dance competition, and I don’t think that I’m able to make it back in time for his contest.”
She sounds sad, “I would really love to have his brothers here for our wedding. I want you to think about it long and hard. I know you can beat him, and I have complete faith in you. I know it’s a lot, and we’re asking this huge favor from you. You of all fairies, wanted to go up against him, and here’s your chance! You get to see him live for a change. Now please Rosalie, go show him that my baby niece is not only beautiful, intelligent, but that you can also kick his ass.”
I peer over at Spike, and his head remains down. I never want to hurt Spike either, “I need to think about it, and I will inform you one way—or the other.”
I change the subject, by congratulating them on their baby and impending wedding. A
fter our conversation ends, Spike comes to life, by staring at me, “What do you want to do, Rosalie?”
I walk over to him, and kiss his firm cheek, “You tell me what you want from me. I know that I want you, and only you, Spike. You are the one, who I want to be with, but you make things so damn difficult for me. I won’t do anything against you. I would love to kick his ass, but that’s just the competitor inside.”
He kisses me, “I really hope you stick with your mortal competition. Joey has a lot of commitment issues right now, and you deserve better than him.”
Spike doesn’t talk me out of dancing against Joey. I thought he would be angry, but he adds, “I will leave it in your hands, Rosalie. You need to decide what’s best for you, and I will support your decision with whatever you choose.”
I toy with his hair, and Ember enters the room, “Oh, wow! I’m searching for more cookies.”
Spike opens one of his cabinets, and he produces cookies for her.
Ember glances over at me, “I know you got this, Rosalie,” she pours herself a glass of milk, and then she storms off with the cookies.
Spike chuckles in my ear, “You seem to have a large fan base.”
I kiss his ears, and I start to nibble on them.
“You really want me to take it from you, don’t you?” he asks, while he whines again.
With a quick move, I turn around and walk out. Ember sits next to me, and she hands me cookies. Tonight, I will remain intact and keep my chaste. Spike glances over at me, and he shakes his head at me. He takes his spot beside his older brother, and he eyes me every five seconds.
On the last day in North Carolina MJ grabs her suitcases, “I will be joining you if you don’t mind.”
We return to the RV after a week break. Spike locks his doors to his house. Ice takes over the driver's seat, but the Fairy Enforcers motion for me to follow them.
“There is bad news. Ember will be eighteen years old tomorrow, and Gabriel is ready to tell her, who she really is in Maine. We realize that the past two years are almost over. We expect you to return home on August the twenty-first,” Oberon directs me.
I take a deep breath, “I promise that I will return home on the twenty-first.”
Oren sighs, and he hugs me, “We need to get this over with, and please have a safe journey, Rosalie. We will be waiting at the end.”
I left the guys to walk inside the RV. Jazzy snores on Spike’s lap. The RV takes off to our next destination. We travel through Niagara Falls and enjoy the view, and Ember loves the scenery. Gabriel discloses to Spike, when nobody watches, and he explains what will happen next. They stop talking once she walks over to Gabe. He leans in, and he kisses her a few times.
~~~***~~~
We make it to Maine, and all of us go out to dinner. The Enforcers are multiplying by numbers. There were once five, and now all twelve of them are in a distance. I’m surprised that she doesn’t even notice them, and my guys are growing too.
Oberon pulls me to another room, “They want to tell her right now.”
“I want her to have a belated eighteenth birthday party! You guys won’t at least give that to her?”
“We need to tell her today, Rosalie. She only has a month left to decide, which team to play for,” Gabriel directs me for a change, and I hate that they chose today of all days to tell her.
Chapter 12
Gabriel shows me a quick video on his cell phone. I watch in horror to realize that her house in Tennessee is destroyed. I grimace at Gabriel, “Will you please tell me that her parents made it out alive?”
Gabriel hands me another video, and the coroners are taking their bodies out in bags. I crumble to my knees, and weep for her. My heart breaks for her.
Gabriel squats down, “You need to bring her out here to introduce her to all of us. She will be safer in our world, and you know this. There is a lot more too. She needs to decide in thirty days, if she wants to be a fairy—or an angel. If not, then both sides will fight inside of her to kill her eventually. She will die either way, and she deserves to know what she is. This is exactly why a fairy and an angel should never procreate.”
I sob even harder, and I try to dry the tears long enough to think. I have tears in my eyes, when I see her again. This instantly alarms her, “What’s wrong, Rosalie?”
The angels leave, but Spike remains here with me. I take her hand in mine, “I need to talk to you outside. We have to meet some very important people right now.”
Snow and Ice left us to take their places. I hold her arm, and escort her through the darkness. There are thirty-four Enforcers, who are waiting in three single file lines.
Ember cocks her head to the side, “Who are all these men, Rosalie? You are starting to scare me!”
I clear my throat to find the right words to tell her. I have to ask her honestly, “I want to ask you, if you have ever heard of mythological creatures.” She nods her head yes, and I continue to hold on to her arm.
I point at all the Enforcers, “These guys are extremely special to us, and there’s a logical reason as to why there are so many men here tonight. There are twelve Enforcers in all supernatural groups. This includes angels, fairies, and vampires. These are special groups of men, who keep us safe, but the problem is that we’re no longer safe here. There is a man, who wants all hybrids in this world, and anyone—who helps them—dead
“What’s a hybrid? I have no idea, if I comprehend what you’re even saying to me. Are you trying to say that there are actual vampires and fairies?”
I nod my head yes, and I point to her, “You’re a hybrid, Ember. You are half-angel, and half-fairy. Your actual birth father is my Uncle Everest, and your actual birth mother is Michael’s daughter. Her name was Michaela, and she died giving birth to you. We are biological cousins, Ember.”
Ember starts to laugh at me. I snap my fingers to show her, and my magic scares her. I nod towards Gabriel.
Gabriel walks over to her, “I’m an angel, Ember. I work for your grandfather on your birth mother's side. I have no reason to lie to you. Khan brutally murdered your parents. Now he’s on your trail, and Earth is no longer safe for you. There is more than just this, Ember.”
She cries out angrily, “No! You’re fucking lying to me! My parents are not fucking dead! I know who I am, Gabriel! My name is Ember Rayne Tucker!”
I have to inform her of the change, “That’s not your real name, and your actual name is Ember Rayne McCloud. We don’t recognize mortal laws, and we also don’t recognize mortal adoptions either.”
Ember collapses on the ground, and she’s screaming in agony. I show her the video of her house, and she screams out, begging me to stop. I stop, and she continues to sob on the ground.
Gabriel walks over to her, and he picks her up, “You won’t be able to go to their funerals either. Khan wants you to show up. He will wipe you out, while you have no powers. You have to decide right now, if you want to become an angel—or a fairy. You only have thirty days to decide.”
She stares at me, with horror in her eyes, “What will happen to me, if I refuse to choose?”
“Your angel side will try to kill your fairy side. You will die a painful death. Your blood will turn in on itself. You have to decide, which side you want to be,” I painfully inform her.
Ember begins to pace back and forth on the pier, and she studies everyone. She turns around, and slaps me hard in the face, “You fucking knew the truth about me all this fucking time! You knew who I am! Yet, you as my so-called friend chose to let me know nothing! You are the next closest person to a sister to me! That means Spike and the others are all fairies, right?”
I nod my head yes with tears streaming down my cheeks. “You’re completely selfish! You should have told me! I’m so angry with you, Rosalie!” she screams at me, while continuing her verbal assault.
She peers over at the Enforcers then she faces Gabriel, “Who is more dangerous, an angel—or a fairy?”
Gabriel frowns from her anger,
That is not my group, if it’s retribution you seek. We told Rosalie to tell you nothing, and none of us told you any lies. We had to wait until the time was right. Your existence is on the line, and you have precisely thirty days to decide. The choice is ultimately yours.”
Ember contemplates until she leers at me, “I want to talk to Gabriel alone, and I have some things to discuss with him in private.”
Gabriel holds out his hand, and he escorts her to a different location.
I sob uncontrollably, and Ian walks over to me, “She needed to know, chick, Now that the cat is out of the bag, and you’re done with your charge.”
Oberon swiftly strides over to me, and he snaps the staff in his possession, “I’m reinstating your powers right now. Anytime you want to return home—you can.”
Snow and Ice hold me tightly. He spins around once, and then he slams the wooden staff hard on the dock three times. The light escapes the staff, and it nearly knocks me over from impact. Oberon restores my flying abilities, and now I can return home as Spike wants me to do. Spike helps me stand up, and he hugs me. We wait for two hours, and then she finally rejoins us. Gabriel nonchalantly has an arm over her shoulder.
Ember closes her eyes, “I know this is a rash decision, but after careful consideration, I’ve chosen to become a full angel. I have spent too much time with the fairies, and I need to be with a group that I feel the most compatible. I feel that the fairies blatantly lied to me, and I’m tired of it. I will be turning as soon as possible.”
