Heaven Sent

“Gina, you saw with your own eyes how Heaven’s ass tried to jump bad and fight me at La-La’s house. Then the bitch rolled up at the store and attacked me,” said Kim.
“Well look at all the shit you’ve said to her. Then you spread lies about her trying to break her and Zy up. And for what, Kim? Because of that bitch Tamar?” Gina said angrily.
“No it wasn’t because of Tamar! What the fuck is wrong with you today, Gina?” Kim was surprised because Gina had never talked to her like that.
“All this shit is because of her! What did La-La do to you? You only hurt her because that bitch Tamar told you to. Neither Heaven nor La-La has ever done anything to you. We always argue but at the end of the day, we’re sisters and that’s what we do.” Gina tried getting through to Kim but it was pointless. Kim wasn’t trying to hear shit Gina had to say.
“I did that shit to La-La as a warning to Heaven. She’s lucky I only did that to her ass,” Kim laughed.
“That shit wasn’t cool at all Kim and I’m not feeling this shit,” Gina said, letting Kim know she wasn’t feeling the bullshit she and Tamar had going on.
Kim smacked her lips. “You know what, Gina, you’re starting to act just like those bitches. We’re supposed to be cool but now you want to turn your back on me after all the shit I’ve done for you,” Kim said angrily.
“All what shit? What have you done for me besides introduced me to drugs? You’re not my friend, Kim, and you never have been,” Gina said, unable to hold the tears any longer. Kim rolled her eyes upwards. Gina was really starting to piss her off.
“I didn’t put a fucking gun to your head and make you do the shit, Gina.”
Gina didn’t respond.
“Look, I don’t know what you want me to say, Gina. Maybe you needs to just go back home and calm down,” Kim said, making a U-turn in the middle of the street.
Gina made up in her mind that she was going to come clean with Heaven and La-La before Kim and Tamar made their next move.
*******
It was another sleepless night for Heaven as she laid in bed with Zylen invading her mind. That had been going on for the past few days. Grabbing her phone off the nightstand, Heaven debated if she should call Zylen or not, being that it was going on four in the morning. All kind of thoughts were running through Heaven’s mind, from what if he had company to what if he didn’t want to talk to her. Not wanting to set herself up for failure, she sat it back on the nightstand and just cuddled with her baby girl.
Little did Heaven know, Zylen was across town having a sleepless night, as well. He wanted to wait until he handled Tamar before he fixed his situation with Heaven but since he was longing for her in the worst way, Zylen was planning on making things right with her in a few hours when she brought Hydeia to him.
Zylen knew he wasn’t about to go to sleep anytime soon so he went to the living room to watch a little TV. He didn’t know when or how long he’d been asleep but he was awakened to the sound of his phone ringing.
“Yeah,” he answered groggily.
“Where in the fuck you at, Zylen? You knew you was supposed to be getting Hydeia today, now you’re not answering the fucking door. If you didn’t want…” Heaven roared on the other end of the phone but was cut short when Zylen swung the door back.
Heaven was on ten thinking he had someone else in there with him and that was the reason he wasn’t answering the door for her. She knew he was there because his car was parked out front. She was kicking her own ass for giving Zylen his key back.
“Man, I was sleep, Heaven,” Zylen said, taking Hydeia out her arms and walking off with Heaven right behind him.
“Zylen, you don’t sleep that damn hard,” Heaven fussed, walking behind him. Zylen didn’t respond.
Heaven handed him Hydeia’s diaper bag. “Here. She just ate and she shouldn’t be wet. Come give Mommy a kiss, Hydeia,” she said as she picked her daughter up and kissed her.
“Well I only have one class today so I’ll be here to get her as soon as it’s over,” Heaven said before leaving.
Zylen just nodded his head. He decided to wait until she picked Hydeia up to fix things between them. When Heaven left he picked his daughter up. “Well it’s just you and me, li’l mama,” he said and Hydeia smiled.
On the way to school Heaven couldn’t stop the tears that were rolling down her cheeks. Pulling up on campus, Heaven had ten minutes to spare and she used them to get herself together. She knew it was going to be hard to stay focused but in order to pass her test Heaven knew she had to push Zylen to the back of her mind.
As soon as Zylen’s foot hit the bottom step there was a knock at the door. There was no need to ask who it was because his gut feeling was telling him it was Heaven.
“Hey, what’s up?” Heaven said as he moved aside to let her in.
“Hey, how was class?” Zylen asked as he followed her into the living room.
“It was good. I aced my test,” said Heaven proudly. Zylen was proud of her himself.
“That’s good, baby girl. I’m proud of you.” He winked at her and it caused her to blush.
“Where Hydeia at?”
“She just went to sleep.”
“Oh, okay,” Heaven said. She wanted to say more but she couldn’t find the right words to say to him.
“Heaven, I really didn’t know how Tamar found out where we lived. She dropped off the money I was telling you she was paying me back and when you walked in I was trying to get her to leave,” Zylen clarified before walking into her personal space. “I love you, Heaven, and miss you so much. I just want you and my daughter home with me, where y’all belong.”
“How do I know this bitch won’t pop back up, Zylen?”
“You don’t have to worry about that, baby. I can assure you that she will never come between us again. You’re more than enough woman for me! You’re my Heaven Sent and I love you,” said Zylen as he kissed Heaven. That was enough for Heaven and all she needed to hear. She was no longer letting anyone else comes between her and her man.
Chapter 23
“I’m telling you, Kim, we needs to watch that little bitch. If she was acting the way you say she was then she will be ratting us out sooner or later and I’m not about to die because of her ass, so you better talk some sense into you friend,” Tamar said to Kim.
After dropping Gina back off at home, Kim headed over to Tamar’s house to let her know that Gina was on some other shit. She sat quietly while Tamar was rambling on about Gina and it was only upsetting her. Gina was her friend and she would be the only one handling her, without the help of Tamar.
“She’ll be alright! You don’t have to worry about her. I’ll take care of everything,” Kim let her know.
“Well you better or I will! I’m ready to get this shit jumping with or without her ass,” Tamar said.
She didn’t care if she no longer wanted to be with Zylen anymore. She was taking Heaven out, regardless.
“Well you already know I’m down,” said Kim.
Once Tamar and Kim were done discussing their plans, Kim left. All Tamar had to do is get Tyrone to play his part and that shouldn’t be hard at all.
Gina had been pacing around her small apartment for the last hour or so reciting over in her head the words she was going to say to Heaven and La-La once she saw them. She knew there was nothing she could say to them that would justify for her actions. Though she didn’t play a huge part in the things that had been taking place to her once best friends, she knew what was going on and didn’t warn them and to her that was enough betrayal to last a lifetime. Gina wished she could’ve said more to Heaven the night she was shot and she knew Heaven would never find it in her heart to forgive her.
Grabbing her phone, Gina dialed La-La’s number and sat patiently for her to answer.
“Hello?” La-La answered after the third ring.
“H-hey La-La,” Gina fumbled over her words nervously. How was she going to tell her once best friend that she knew who ki
lled her baby? What if she already knew who it was? All kind of thoughts were running through her head.
“What’s up, G?” La-La asked, wondering what Gina could possibly be calling her for after all this time. She wanted to be mad at Gina, she really did, but La-La couldn’t find it in her heart to be mad with her. She knew Gina meant well and was only acting out because of Kim.
“I need to talk to you. I know Heaven’s not going to talk to me but I need for you to. Please, La-La, I have a lot of shit to get off my chest,” Gina damn near begged.
“I don’t really feel like company but I guess you can come over for a few, Gina.”
La-La could tell by Gina’s voice that something was seriously wrong. Once Gina told her she was on the way they ended their call. Gina went into the bathroom and opened her medicine cabinet. She took out a small bag full of coke only to put it right back.
“I need to have a clean mind for this shit,” Gina said to herself. She really didn’t know how La-la was going to react so she wanted to be on her P’s and Q’s in case some shit jumped off.
La-La already knew Heaven’s stubbornness wasn’t going to let her meet with Gina, but it didn’t stop her from calling to let Heaven know Gina wanted to meet with them.
“What’s up, boo, you okay?” Heaven answered on the second ring.
“Yeah, I’m good. What you up to?” La-La asked, trying to see what kind of mood Heaven was in.
“Nothing, sitting here watching my baby play. She over here running around being bossy and fucking shit up.”
“That’s always! You’re not going to be able to do nothing with her mean ass,” La-La laughed.
“Nah, she knows mama don’t play like that! She’s forever bossing her daddy around, like now,” said Heaven as she watched Hydeia stick her tongue out at Zylen and roll her eyes. She didn’t know where she picked up that bad habit from.
“Like now? Aw shit, my nigga back in?” La-La said, laughing. Heaven rolled her eyes as if she could see her. That was probably where Hydeia got it from.
“Yeah, something like that,” she responded.
La-La was tired of the small talk and ready to get to the point of her calling Heaven.
“Well I was just calling to let you know that Gina called me a few minutes ago. She wants to have a talk with us.” The phone went silent and La-La thought Heaven had hung up until she heard Hydeia talking.
“Hello,” she said.
“She don’t have shit to talk to me about,” Heaven finally responded.
La-La sighed deeply before speaking, “Well I want to hear what she has to say, so she’s about to come over in case you want to come see what’s up.”
“Nah, I’ll pass! I know one thing, her ass better not be on no sneaky shit and bring Kim and Tamar’s ass over there to start no shit.”
“Oh, you already know a bitch isn’t worried about that. I got this shit on lock. Me and mines stay trigger happy over this way,” La-La said. Just the thought of them bitches trying to step to her got her hyped.
Heaven couldn’t do anything but laugh at her La-La’s ass.
“Bitch, yo ass ain’t gone bust a damn grape,” she teased her.
“Even you don’t believe that, boo,” laughed La-La. She and Heaven talked a little more before Heaven told her to call her if she needed her and they ended their call.
Heaven couldn’t help but wonder what Gina had to speak to them about, but for the most part, what she wanted with her. As far as Heaven was concerned, their friendship was over the second they felt the need to turn to Tamar after an argument they had with her. Then, not to mention the biggest lie they told to split her and Zylen up. Hell nah, Gina didn’t have shit to say to Heaven.
************
Gina walked up to La-La’s front door nervously, unsure of how she was going to take the news she was about to lay on her, she just hoped at the end of the day she’d find it in her heart to forgive her.
Knocking on the door she waited for it to be answered. Shortly after, it swung open and Ali moved aside to let her in.
“What’s up, G. La-La knew you was coming over?” he asked. Ali knew the girls were beefing so he was surprised to see her there.
“Yeah, I talked to her earlier and asked her could I come by to talk to her about some things,” Gina replied.
“A’ight, let me get her for you,” Ali said before disappearing. He wasn’t gone long before La-La walked into the living room to find Gina standing by the door with her arms folded.
“Why are you standing? You can sit down,” La-La said as she took a seat and Gina slowly did the same.
“So what’s up? What you wanna talk to me about?” asked La-La.
Gina was so nervous that she almost regretted ever calling La-La in the first place. Taking a deep breath she begin to speak.
“Well first I want to apologize about everything that has been going on lately. I love you and Heaven to the fullest and hate that I let Kim talk me into turning my back on y’all like that. She been letting Tamar get all in her ear, not saying she wouldn’t have been acting out like this without her but I think, well, I know Tamar plays a major part in all that’s been going on.”
La-La just sat quietly nodding her head in agreement. Gina took another deep breath before continuing to speak again.
“That night at the club, I tried to warn Heaven. I swear I did, La-La, but she just wouldn’t listen. Mark and Kim had been talking all alone. Kim has even slept with Tre and a couple of other guys Heaven’s slept with. For some reason she takes pleasure in sleeping with Heaven’s leftovers. She was so obsessed with Zylen back in the days and now that him and Heaven is a couple she’s doing everything in her power to hurt Heaven, and that includes hurting the people that’s close to her.”
By now Gina had tears in her eyes as well as La-La. Everyone knew Kim envied Heaven but La-La didn’t know she had it out for her that bad.
“So you really wasn’t threatening her that night?” asked La-La. It was funny because everyone took it as a warning but Heaven.
“Hell no I wasn’t threatening her! I don’t care what we go through. I love both of y’all and don’t want to see anything happens to neither one of y’all,” Gina said honestly, wishing she would’ve warned Heaven sooner. “The bullets were initially meant for Zylen but I guess Mark had something else in mind. I wanted to go check on her so bad but I knew it wasn’t a good idea, so I was gonna give her some time to cool off. Kim and Tamar is unstoppable and after what happened with you, I said enough is enough. I just had to come see you.”
“Wait, what you mean after what happened to me?” asked La-La.
“La-La, I swear I didn’t have anything to do with you losing your baby. It was all them,” Gina cried.
La-La jumped up and was connecting her fist with Gina’s face before she knew it.
“Bitch, what happened to my fucking warning?” asked La-La in between punches. Ali heard all the commotion and went into the living room where he found La-La on top of Gina, beating her face in. Gina wasn’t even fighting back.
“La-La, I swear I wanted to tell you. I didn’t even expect for them to really go through with the plan,” Gina cried as Ali held La-La.
“Bitch, you should have come to me when they first discussed the shit. You let those hos kill my fucking twins. I fault you just as much as them bitches. Now get the fuck outta my house!” La-La screamed between cries as she broke free of Ali’s hold.
Ali stood there, not really sure what was going on as Gina slowly lifted herself off the floor and left the house silently. She didn’t even know La-La was pregnant with twins. That only made her feel worse than she already felt. She wasn’t even mad that La-La reacted the way she did because like she said, she was just as much to blame as Kim and Tamar.
Chapter 24
For the past few days Heaven had been in heaven. She’d moved back in with Zylen and they were doing great at rekindling their love. Everything was perfect as if nothing ever happened.
> “I’m about to go over to La-La’s house for a minute, you know I been calling her for the past two days and she finally called me back and said she needed to talk to me about something.”
“A’ight, we’ll ride over there with you,” said Zylen as he got off bed and began putting on his shoes.
Once he was done he grabbed Hydeia off the bed while Heaven grabbed her diaper bag. Zylen strapped her in her seat and they were on their way. When they pulled up to La-La’s house she and Ali were already sitting on the porch waiting for them.
“What’s up, boo? Hey Ali!” Heaven hugged La-La then Ali, followed by Zylen speaking before taking a seat.
“Girl, them hos killed my babies,” La-La said, getting straight to the point. Since Gina left that day all La-La had been doing was laying around the house crying. She’d did so much crying in the last two days that she was all cried out.
“Wait, what? What hos?” Heaven asked confusedly.
“Kim, Gina, and that bitch Tamar?”
When La-La said Tamar that got Zylen’s attention. He wondered why would Tamar go after La-La. They had no beef and she didn’t have anything to do with what was going on between him, Heaven, and her. All Zylen saw was red. He didn’t know what had gotten into Tamar but she’d gone too far with her shit.
La-La went on telling them what Gina had told her the day of her visit and they all sat quietly, not believing they would actually attack La-La like that. The whole time she spoke all that was one Ali, Zylen, and even Heaven’s mind was murder. They knew they had to put an end to all the shit that had been happening and the only way to do that, was to kill the enemies. Zylen was kicking his own ass. He knew he should’ve killed Tamar when she first made her presence known again but what did he do? Kept running to her house like a fucking idiot. Ali tried to warn him to stay away from her but he didn’t listen. Now he and his fiancée’s best friends lost their babies because of his own selfish foolishness.
“So you mean to tell me those hos that salty they would kill innocent babies?” Heaven asked angrily as she paced the porch.
