“Yes,” he growled, his fangs peeking out from behind his lips. “Give yourself to me. Make yourself entirely mine.”

When my breasts were scorching hot, Dusa ended the swats. I whimpered a soft protest. Some switch had been thrown in my skull. All I wanted to do was show him how I belonged to him. That I would offer him everything to grant him happiness. That I would endure anything for him.

“Sweet, sweet Shalia,” he breathed. His cocks stretched his formsuit so taut I thought they might rip through the fabric. “You are such a gift.”

Dusa moved down to kneel between my splayed legs. His fingers slid down my open slit, discovering I was soaked. “Very good, my pretty. I will test you further and have you prove how much you wish to serve me and my need to master you.”

I nodded frantically. Nothing mattered but Dusa’s satisfaction. I had never been so out of my mind to please anyone in my life.

He plucked at my clit, and rapture made me jerk in reaction. That nubbin sizzled with ecstasy at his touch. My guts seized for an instant, ready for a swift dash for release. Dusa didn’t let go, but he stilled all movement so that my sex hummed with enthrallment without falling over the precipice. Meanwhile, he stroked through my intimate folds, exploring the petals as if to memorize each curve. I was drenched with juices.

Dusa released my clit and stopped caressing my pussy. His hand flashed, and there was a light clapping sound. The next instant heat suffused my secret flesh where he’d struck. A thunderclap of painful ecstasy slammed into me, taking me right to the verge of climax. I screamed against my gag as my lower parts clenched, trying to realize orgasm that wavered out of reach.

Dusa stroked the top of my mound, well away from my shuddering pussy. I wrenched against my binds, desperate to find release. I uttered desperate choking sounds when the pulsing bliss ebbed instead.

Once I stopped writhing and moaning, Dusa stroked my engorged clit with the lightest of touches. I shivered at the effervescent pleasure bubbling through my body. I couldn’t hold a coherent idea in my head. All was sensation; pure, unadulterated feeling.

Dusa’s arm moved too fast to track. Strong contact blasted through my sex. Another flash. And another. The light strikes peppered faster than I could follow with my eyes, but my pussy and clit recorded every spank that landed on them.

No pain. Only a fierce concentration of intensity that billowed big until it blew through me like an explosion. I came with Dusa smacking my tender flesh, shrieking fit to blow the ceiling off had the gag not muffled me.

I don’t know how much later it was when his voice brought me back to reality. “Shalia? Can you hear me, my pretty?”

I blinked. He lay on top of me, his naked body pressed to mine, his eyes gazing intently at my face. I was tied and gagged. All I could do was nod.

“You left me there for awhile,” Dusa said. His smile was sly. “Was it a nice trip, my pretty?”

I was still having trouble assembling my thoughts. They were thick and sludgy, and my body hummed happily, feeling all glowy and warm. I floated with only my lover’s weight and the ties on my wrists and ankles to keep me on Earth.

I managed to nod again, and Dusa chuckled. “You are so sweet. I—” he swallowed and stopped himself. “I am glad we’ve been able to share all we have,” he said.

He kissed the tip of my nose, then raised up so he could adjust his cocks to enter me. With a sigh, he slipped inside. My flesh was hectic with sensitivity, and I warbled a cry as he filled me tight with himself.

Dusa settled down on me, keeping most of his weight on elbows and knees. He moved his hips steadily, taking his leisure as he pleasured himself with my body. His lips kissed all over my face, as if in worship. He never varied the speed or intensity of the taking, allowing passion to rise slow and sure until he spilled groaning into my trembling flesh.

He untied me and pulled the gag from my mouth. Then Dusa blanketed me. We fell asleep that way, my body pillowing him and his body blanketing mine. We woke this morning with enough time to make love again before Dusa had to head off for his work shift.

What a night. It’s hard to be in the real world again after all that, but not hearing from Esak or his squad yet has brought me thudding to Earth. I hope he’s okay. Please God, let him be okay.

  October 8, later

Commander Nang is back to being a butt. I wonder what the penalty is for strangling a Dramok?

Oh, why do I bother being offended? After all, I’ve given the man every indication of how attractive I find him. I’ve even told him flat out. I wish he’d cut me a little slack and stop tempting me though.

The trouble started when he stopped by to visit me and Mom at Medical. I was standing outside, enjoying the sun for a few minutes. Mom’s condition has been pronounced stabilized, and they’re working on some therapy with her. That Kalquorian medicine is amazing. Sure, ‘therapy’ consists of coaxing Mom to attempt to open that droopy eyelid, lifting the corner of her mouth, and twitching fingers and toes, but that she’s out of danger is terrific. I felt pretty okay about them kicking me out for twenty minutes or so while they worked with her.

“You’re not hovering today,” came that deep voice I know all too well. “Matara Eve must be continuing to improve.”

I turned and smiled at Nang. “She’s strong enough to try some exercises, which I was politely asked to not attend. How are you?”

He blew out a breath. “Still dealing with this new threat outside our base. The tracking squads found what looked like a large encampment last night, recently abandoned. The signs went in all different directions from there, so we’re having trouble pinning the attackers down. They’ve split into smaller groups.”

No wonder Esak hasn’t been heard from yet. I offered the one hopeful point I could think of. “If they’re on the move, then they aren’t shooting at us.”

“There is that. Maybe I’ll have a chance to get you into my office to help me work on my presentation soon.”

I frowned at him. “I thought we had that pinned down?”

He shrugged. “I want every detail to be perfect. It’s going to take a lot for me to persuade Earthers that Kalquor means no harm. More than it did for you to convince Kalquorians we were coming on a bit strong to your people.”

He had a point. “Why don’t you send me what you’ve got so far and I’ll look it over? Once it all seems right, you can rehearse it in front of me.”

“I’d rather work on it with you there.” Nang’s leer had that roguish quality that set off warning bells for me.

“Are you certain it’s your presentation you’re talking about?”

The bad boy didn’t try to mask his ulterior motives. “If you ended up under me naked, that would be to my liking.”

I scowled. Most of my pleasant feelings about him coming over to check on Mom’s condition evaporated. “We are not having this conversation again, Nang. The answer is still no.”

“I bet you’d change your mind if those younglings weren’t around.” His grin didn’t dim for an instant.

I got mad, mostly because I knew he was right. Something about Nang reduces me to goo inside. Hot, melting, aching goo. If there were no Dusa and Esak, I’d probably be camping out in the commander’s office.

I stamped my foot like a five-year-old. “Nang, go back to work before I say ugly stuff to you.”

He chuckled. “Yes, my sweet, tempestuous Shalia.” He turned away, and I caught myself staring at that gorgeous, sculpted ass. Stupid, bodyhugging formsuit uniform. I wish Kalquorian clothing was more concealing.

Who am I kidding? I’d cry if they wore anything else.

I should have known better, but I had to stop him. “Tell me something, you big, overbearing creep.”

Nang stopped and glanced at me, his smile expectant. “Yes, my beauty?”

“Why do you keep trying with me? Why don’t you give up? Isn’t it frustrating?”

He laughed and shook his head. “On the contrary. The building an
ticipation is enjoyable. Plus, it allows me more time to plan what I’m going to do with you when you surrender to me.”

With that he walked off, leaving me fuming. And hot and bothered. I keep saying it, but damn that man!

  October 9

Joy! Esak is back, safe and sound. He’s exhausted from getting no sleep since he left, but he’s home and uninjured. Life is very, very good.

He showed up in Mom’s room first thing, not five minutes after I’d arrived there myself. I was touched that he came to see how she was doing immediately. He even held off comming Dusa to let him know he’d returned. The leading item on Esak’s agenda was giving me a hug and hearing all the reports on Mom’s continued recovery.

“You are such a strong woman, Matara Eve,” Esak told her, taking her hand. “Nobek strong.”

She gave him a half-smile with the side of her mouth that works. Then she whispered, “You look tired. Go to bed.”

It was the most she’d said in a single breath since the stroke. Esak bent and pressed his lips to her forehead. “I will, now that I know you are all right. May I steal Shalia for a few seconds?”

She kind of twitched to wave us off, so we stepped outside. There, Esak commed both Dusa and Weln to tell them he was on site. They said they would meet him at Medical.

While we waited, Esak gathered me in his arms. Quiet as usual, he held me, taking comfort in our embrace. I wrapped my arms around his waist and buried my face against his chest. His musky scent filled my senses.

Moments later, I heard Dusa’s voice. “It is wonderful to have you back, my Nobek.”

Esak beamed at his relieved clanmate, who put one hand on Esak’s shoulder and the other on my head. Esak answered, “It is good to be with you, my Dramok. I’ll be here on site for the next week, at least. I am on guard duty at the rear service gate while they send other trackers out to resume hunting the trail.”

That statement made Dusa happy. “Excellent.” He bent to kiss me. “How is your mother today, Shalia?”

“Doing great. She spoke to Esak and ordered him to get some sleep.”

Dusa regarded his Nobek. “I think that’s a great idea. You look exhausted.”

“I’ll go to our quarters as soon as I say hello to Weln. Here he comes.”

The Imdiko joined us, his expression bright to see Esak in one piece. “Welcome back, my friend. I was worried.”

“There is reason to be.” The Nobek’s face darkened. “All evidence points to a very large number of Earthers banded against us.”

“How many?” Dusa asked. His brows knit together.

“Hundreds. As many as five hundred, perhaps.”

I gasped and the other two men appeared ill. “That’s nearly as many as us,” Dusa said.

“We believe they’re heavily armed. If we can find them, a shockwave will settle them quickly, but they don’t wish to be found.” Esak scowled. “We messed up, somehow. The encampment they abandoned appeared to have been quit quickly. It was almost as if they were warned we were on their trail.”

Weln did his best to soothe him. “I’m positive it was no mistake of yours. It was probably a chance sighting of the scouting teams.”

“Perhaps.” Esak’s attention went to me, and his grip tightened. “This whole site is in danger. Security is tightening. Anyone wishing to leave or enter the Academy grounds must be approved by Commander Nang.”

“I have no intention of going anywhere,” I said. “I doubt anybody else will either. I’m betting the Earthers living here would be considered traitors by the those outside.” I frowned as a new, alarming thought crossed my mind. “Does that mean you’re bringing in no more refugees? Will the Earthers who ask to be evacuated be turned away?”

Esak blew out a breath. “Of course we’re still taking in Earthers. That’s why we’re here, to rescue you all. But now any who come in requesting food and shelter will be escorted to a holding area, scanned for weapons, and interviewed before they’re given a run of the place like the rest of you. We have to be sure no one who is a spy or plans to take the place down from the inside has that opportunity.”

“Do you know if that has an effect on my operations? I haven’t checked in yet,” Dusa said.

“The search and rescue teams are restricted to the grounds until the threat has been dealt with.”

Dusa snarled a few Kalquorian words under his breath, no doubt very choice words. Then he said, “I was trying to coax in half a dozen Mataras. They need help. The food I left them won’t last more than a few days, and it’s growing more difficult for them to scavenge.”

Weln patted his back, but he looked worried too. “Maybe the trackers will find these fighters quickly, and they’ll be disbanded.”

Esak acted more tired than ever. “That’s the hope. I’m sorry I brought bad news.”

I hugged him harder, wishing to wipe the dispirited shadow from his expression. “Seeing you more than makes up for it. Why don’t you go get some rest? You’ll feel more optimistic after some sleep.”

He smiled at me, vanquishing the worry aging his young face. “I think I will. I start my duties on the gate tomorrow night.”

“Go to bed,” Dusa told him. “You’re due a lot of rest. I’ll check in with my supervisor to receive my changed orders and join you if I’m able.”

Esak nodded. He gave me a kiss goodbye, and then Dusa did the same. The two men left.

Weln sighed and gazed up at the blue sky that promised the pipe dream of happiness. “I’m regretting my wish to be tougher, Shalia,” he said. “When it puts others in danger, it doesn’t seem like a smart goal.”

“I guess that’s why we have the phrase, ‘What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger’. It’s supposed to put events in perspective and help the harsh times feel easier to deal with.” I patted his shoulder. It wasn’t a thought that had me particularly optimistic.

Weln chuckled ruefully. “We will all be mountains of unbreakable stone when this is done.” He looked me over. “Dusa hasn’t been sleeping much with Esak gone. If he has no duties today, I am certain he will take advantage to catch up on his rest as well.”

“I can’t say I blame them,” I said. I wondered if I should stop in and check on them later or leave them be.

“Will you eat last dinner with me tonight?”

“Sure.” I had never eaten with just Weln before. Poor guy, he acted rattled by Esak’s news of our enemies numbering in the hundreds. Thinking about that, I didn’t want to eat alone tonight myself. Maybe we could bring up each other’s spirits.

  October 10

Another notch in Shalia Monroe’s belt. I’ve had my first Imdiko.

I don’t believe either Weln or I had sex on our radar when we ate dinner together. Our conversation wasn’t flirty as we ate. We spent worried over Dusa and Esak, whom we assumed were catching up on their rest. We talked about the new rules that said non-authorized personnel and no Earthers were to go within fifty yards of the Academy’s outer perimeter fences. We talked about my mother and her progress. There was nothing untoward in our conversation.

Even the walk we took afterward, with my bodyguard trailing several steps behind us, hinted at zero sexuality. We behaved as if we were a couple of old school friends catching up on the latest. Discussing work, people we knew, amusing anecdotes, that sort of stuff.

My invitation to Weln to come into my dorm was innocent. I would swear that fact to God himself, staring him straight in the eye while I did it. I asked if Weln had tried wine, having a nearly full bottle Dusa had given me a week or so ago. He had not and was curious, so he accepted my invitation. We went in, and I set out the bottle and a couple of glasses.

Out of the blue, we were in each other’s arms and kissing. Just like that. I couldn’t tell you who made the initial move. One moment I was uncorking the bottle, the next I’ve got a delicious lip lock on Weln.

Despite the tempestuous start, it wasn’t the wild, occasionally bestial sex I have with Dusa and Esak. Weln’
s touch on me was...well, kind of polite. If you can call being touched all over the girlie parts ‘polite’, that is. He was gentle, taking all the time in the world to explore.

First, he caressed my body over my clothes. Then he took my blouse, skirt, and underclothes off, using the care you would with a baby. Weln gazed at me for a little while, which made me a bit self-conscious. He smiled and told me how gorgeous I was. While I don’t see myself as any great beauty, he was aroused, so I guess he enjoyed what he saw.

He lifted me in his arms and placed me on the bed as if I was a fragile piece of china. Then he explored me all over again. It was as if he feared he’d miss something. Weln was thorough with his study, testing how much pressure I liked on my clit, gauging each reaction while he flicked, rubbed, and stroked it. When his fingers entered me, he found my hot spot almost immediately. He spent quite awhile fucking me with his fingers, his other hand pressed down on my pelvis to keep me pinned to the bed. I moaned and writhed beneath his attentions, my pussy gushing wetness on his talented fingers.
