Even When It's Wrong

“I’m saying, is she around? Why you answering her phone?”
“This my phone, my nigga. And she’s my bitch. So, Ion know what the fuck you thought this was, but don’t call this phone no more, homie. Otherwise, I’ma have to find you.”
“She your bitch? You sure about that? Cause baby girl was just at a nigga’s crib last night. Was she your bitch then?”
I laughed despite myself. Mya had really lost her mind. I was so pissed that my dick stiffened inside of her. “I mean, she sitting on my dick right now. Should I ask her, if she still fucking with me?”
“What?!” his bitch ass exploded, and I ended the call.
“That’s just a friend,” she attempted to explain, before I promptly closed her mouth.
“Shut up,” I gritted, flipping her off me.
Before she had a chance to make a move, I tooted her ass up, and put her face down in the pillow. I then rammed my dick in from the back. Tucking my lips into my mouth, I blew her back out.
“Wait!” she screamed, clawing at the sheets.
“Nah, aint no wait!” I smacked her booty. “You lied to me. I thought you wasn’t talking to these niggas out here?”
“He…he’s just a friend,” she whined.
“A friend? Nah, fuck a friend!” I snarled, slapping her ass again.
“I’m sorry!” she shouted. “I’m sorry!”
“It’s too late for that.” I rammed myself completely within her.
“Omariiiiii!” she yelped, snatching the sheet off the corner of the mattress.
Wanting to punish her, I gave it to her long and hard. And when it was time to bust, I pulled out, and sprayed my nut all over her back. But I still wasn’t satisfied. Pushing her ass, she fell flat on her stomach. I then grabbed her cell again, and sat at the edge of the bed.
“Omari, what are you doing?” she asked, as I calmly went through her phone.
“So, your so-called friend been giving you money, and begging you to fuck, huh?”
“But I never did anything with him,” she claimed.
“Yeah, but you let him come see you, and bring you food and shit. And then you got like four other niggas texting you. The fuck is this?!”
She sat up. “What you want me to do, Omari?! What, pretend that this shit we’re doing is right? Or that you’re not only fucking my mama, but a few other bitches as well?”
“You think I give a fuck about any of them?” I grimaced.
She tilted her head, rubbing her forehead. “Honestly, Ion know what you feel.”
I cut my eyes at her. “So, you don’t know what I feel about you, Mya?”
She shrugged her shoulders. “Sometimes Ion know what to think or feel. I mean, yeah, you do a whole lot for me. I can’t deny that, but I also know that I aint finna be fucking my mama’s man for the rest of my life, neither. And you aint showing no signs of stopping your bullshit. You float from Meeka to Skyy, and God knows how many bitches in between. But I’m not supposed to explore my options? Do you realize how stupid that is?”
I sucked my teeth. “Don’t try to reduce what we got down to some simple ass shit. We both know it’s more complicated than that. But on God, you know if I could be with you every night, then that’s what it would be. Hands down. But until we can cross that bridge, I’m here, Mya. Down for you in any way I can be. Can you honestly say that about any of those niggas begging to get in your panties?”
She gulped. “No.”
I sighed. “Then tell me what it is, then.”
She gazed into my eyes, and my heartbeat sped up. “I’m with you.”
“Huh? I can’t hear you.” I placed my hand to my ear.
She cleared her throat. “I’m with you, Omari. But I’m asking you…no, I’m begging you not to take advantage of that.”
I nodded. “And as a man, you got my word. I won’t.”
Chapter 16
Mya
“Do you gotta go?” I pouted, as Omari pulled up outside of my aunt’s apartments. He didn’t pull completely in, because I couldn’t risk her seeing us together.
He yawned. “Yeah, girl. I told you that. Shit, if I could take you with me, I would.”
“I know.” I poked out my bottom lip. He had business to handle, and Valisha was ready to go home. She’d been camped out at Lonny’s for two days to provide my cover, and I promised that today would be the last day.
He leaned over, putting his forehead on mine. “I’ma miss you, but you be good.” He kissed my lips.
I closed my eyes. “I will.”
He chuckled. “You better.” He fell back into his seat.
I studied him, thinking about how I loved everything about him. Like I wanted him forever, and he needed to know that. “Bae,” I called out, grabbing his attention.
“Yeah?” he furrowed his brows.
“I love you.”
“Aw man.” His head rolled around on his neck, as he displayed both dimples. “Here she go with this shit.”
“I’m serious,” I insisted. “I really love you, and I want you to be careful out there in those streets.” I grabbed his hand. “That little run to the Galleria out here was cool, but I noticed that you spent more money than usual. I mean, I appreciate everything that you just bought me, but you gotta spend your money wiser, Omari. Prepare for the rainy days.”
He snickered. “Appreciate the concern. Real talk. But I got this. I promise.”
“Okay,” I tucked my lips into my mouth. “I was just saying. With your jealous ass,” I mumbled, teasing him.
He glared at me.
“Too soon?”
He nodded. “Definitely too soon.”
I giggled to myself, thinking about how his dramatic ass changed my number, but not before forcing me to call every dude in my phone, and telling them to forget about my existence.
“Well, okay,” I took a deep breath. “I’m about to go in the house. As soon as I think that you’ve made it to the freeway, I’ll be calling you to talk to you all the way home.”
“Alright, man.” He leaned over the console, kissing my lips. “Do that,” he commanded. “And I love you too,” he whispered.
The butterflies in my stomach went into overdrive. “Aww, My Mari love me,” I cooed, causing him to blush.
“Stop playing with me,” he sniggled.
“Okay,” I sighed solemnly, pushing the door open with my bags in tow. “I’ll call you.” I eased out of the car.
“Alright,” he replied unenthusiastically.
Slowly, I tracked up the sidewalk. I didn’t hear him back away, until I reached the porch, where I found Cavalli’s nosy ass. “Well, look who finally decides to show her face.”
I gave her a half smile. “What’s up? What did I miss?”
“Nothing.” She folded her arms. “The same ole same ole. So, what about you and your lil’ boo?”
My grin widened. “I had fun.”
“Really?” she arched a brow.
“Yep.”
“That’s what’s up.” She poked out her bottom lip. “So,” she dragged out. “Why you aint tell me that O was Meeka’s old man?”
Omari
“Yeah, main, the video is gonna be shot in Brewster Park next Saturday. Make sure you’re on time,” Melo insisted.
“Alright, nigga,” I chortled. “I heard you the first million times.”
“Okay, okay. I’ma holla at you later. I gotta handle some shit.”
“Fo’ sho’,” I ended the call.
For a brief second, I just sat there soaking it all in. One of Melo’s songs that I’d been featured on was going to be on his album, which had just been picked up by a major distributor. So, he was about to do a video for the song, which was going to be bigger than usual, because there was more money behind it. This was huge, and I was trying to contain my excitement.
Honestly, I was so amped that I really was reconsidering heading into Skyy’s spot, right then. I’d been back in Houston for a week, and had been too busy get
ting money to stop by, but her whining wore me down, so there I was.
Me and Skyy were in an okay place. Since that night I’d taken Melo’s advice, and told her that I wasn’t trying to be committed, we’d been getting along better. She spent way less time worrying about other broads, and more on convincing me that I should choose her. Thus far, it had been quite beneficial for me, as I now had a Benz that she’d co-signed for. So, in exchange for her dedication, I gave her a smidge of time, and a nice dick-down occasionally.
But with the way she’d been calling my phone back to back, I knew that drama was on the horizon. The only time Skyy now gave me flack was when Meeka was involved. They’d been feuding on social media, and even had a few physical run-ins against my wishes. I kept telling them both to leave shit alone, but they wouldn’t listen. Meeka had been on a warpath, running a nigga down, and I really didn’t understand her. Before Mya left, she was more laid back, but then I had to consider the fact that I was home more when Mya was around. But now, I probably came to the crib three to four days out of the week, and when I did I always slept on the couch. So, now she wanted to argue about the bitches every day, but would never just end shit. Frankly, I was only there to have a place to keep my shit, until I was ready to make a real move. I knew that having my clothes at Skyy’s would send the wrong message, and I couldn’t have that. So, for now things were what they were, and these hoes stayed working my last damn nerve.
“Let me get this shit over with,” I mumbled to myself, as I slid out of my car.
Trudging up to the door, I used my key to let myself in. As soon as I opened the door, the smell of chicken wafted through the air. It actually smelled good, but I was doubtful about the taste. Skyy’s food was usually nasty as hell, and she was always trying to feed me, determined to fuck up my stomach.
“You came just in time,” she shouted from the kitchen. “The food is almost done.”
“That’s what’s up,” I faked excitement, before flopping down onto her couch.
Truthfully, her house was the shit. She had a modest three bedrooms two bath home out in Sugarland, coming equipped with every high-tech amenity you could think of. She’d furnished her shit with the most expensive furniture around, and it was comfortable as fuck. So, for various reasons her crib was the better place to live, but I recognized clearly what moving in would mean. There was no way that Skyy would accept that no commitment bull, and I wasn’t trying to be tied down.
“Say,” I called out to her from the couch.
“Yeah, what’s up?” she asked, as she twisted into the living room, wearing a black sheer nightie.
I licked my lips, liking what I saw. “I just got some good news, man.”
“And what’s that?”
“Melo just called me. We doing a video for our song Stop Playing With Me.”
“Yeah? That’s good,” she seemingly brushed the subject off. “But what’s up with that old hoe Meeka?”
I scowled. “The fuck are you talking about?”
“Your old bitch Meeka. She was on Facebook talking shit. Talking about how she rode in her man’s Benz, and hating hoes want her place so bad, but she aint going nowhere.”
I scrunched my face up in disgust. “But why are her posts bothering you? I mean, you know what it is. I aint with you or her. So, what she posts is irrelevant.”
“Yeah, that’s what you say, but all I know is that she better not be driving that Benz. Because she aint on the fucking insurance.”
“Yeah, yeah, Skyy. We know this. How many times are you gonna say the same shit?”
“So, I guess I’m annoying you, huh? You don’t wanna hear nothing I have to say, right?”
“Man,” I exhaustedly rubbed my head. “I did not come over here for this bullshit.”
“And you really got the nerve to act like I’m the problem? Nigga, you are unreal,” she nagged.
Before she could continue with her rant, her doorbell rang. “Thank God,” I groaned. “Saved by the fucking bell.”
She spun around. “Who the fuck is this, popping up at my house?” she made her way to the door. “Uh uh, I know this bitch didn’t.” she snatched the door open. “What the fuck are you doing at my house?!”
“Bitch, where he at?!” I heard Meeka’s voice loud and clear.
Gradually, I stood up, still rubbing my head. “Man,” I dragged out. “A nigga can’t catch a fucking break.”
“You got a lot of balls to come to my house!” Skyy screamed. “You know if you cross this threshold I can shoot you, right?”
“Bitch, you the one with the balls,” Meeka beat her chest like she was a fucking ape. “You over here laying up with the next woman’s man! And since my nigga’s here this is where the fuck I showed up. Omari, bring your ass out here!”
I took a deep breath. “Meeka, why you over here with this bullshit?” I enquired, as I approached the door.
“No, the question is why are you over here?” she rebutted.
I grimaced. “The last time I checked, I was a grown ass man. You can’t control who I hang out with. Skyy is a friend, just like you are. And that’s all you need to know.”
“But are yall fucking?” Meeka bucked her eyes. I know that was the million-dollar question for her, because my dick wouldn’t even get hard for her anymore.
Skyy smirked. “Not that it’s any of your business, but he hits this every time he comes through.”
“So, is this why you can’t perform with me? You over here fucking this lame ass hoe?” Meeka quizzed, sounding lame her damn self.
“Hell, he’s probably tired of dealing with your old dried up ass.”
“Oh, bitch, you wish. You aint the only hoe he deals with, so don’t think you’re special. It’s you, and three more just like you. But at the end of the day, who do he come home to? Where is all his shit?”
“And that maybe so, but where is he now?” Skyy twisted her neck.
“Say, move out my way,” I grumbled, shoving Skyy aside.
“Where are you going?” Skyy asked, as I stepped outside.
“Home to me, bitch!” Meeka boasted, as I traveled past her.
“Yeah, whenever I get there,” I said over my shoulder, never bothering to look their way. Without giving them a second glance, I hopped into my ride, and pulled away from the curb.
Later for the bullshit.
******
I was irritated to the max, as I drove around aimlessly. But honestly, I knew that this shit was my own doing. And I was really beginning to realize that I couldn’t go on like this. With no peace I couldn’t function correctly, and that was the last thing I needed while out in the streets.
Truthfully, it was mind boggling that two women were putting up a fight for some shit that didn’t mean a thing to me. And years ago, I would’ve taken their behavior as some type of badge of honor, but I was gradually to see the light. As I’ve said a million times, none of that shit meant anything when you were talking about two people who really didn’t know me. I mean, yeah, they knew how I looked, and what my dick felt like, but they didn’t know me. Which was why I didn’t particularly feel a way about the drama I created amongst them, or misusing their watered-down version of love for me.
It was also crazy that although I had several freaks blowing my cell up, I felt alone. Like there was nobody to just talk to, and set aside the outside world, even if for just a minute. I wanted to hold a conversation that had nothing to do with what other bitch I entertained, or who I was with the day before. But that was seemingly impossible.
Glancing down at my phone, I saw that I was receiving a video call. After further observation, I discovered that it was Mya. Luckily, I was right near a gas station, so I swopped into the lot, before answering the call.
“Hey,” she practically sang into the camera, showcasing all thirty-twos.
I licked my lips. “Ay, what’s up?”
She narrowed her eyes. “I don’t know. You tell me. What’s wrong?”
I frowned
. “What you talking about?”
“Your eyes. It’s something in your eyes. I can tell that you aint in a good mood.”
I chuckled to myself. How the fuck was she always so in tune with me, even when no one else was? “You think you know me, huh?”
She briefly closed her eyes. “I do.”
“Yeah, okay.”
“So,” she cleared her throat. “Are you going to tell me the problem?”
My head fell back. “It’s just life, My.”
“Life, huh? Well, don’t allow life, or whatever you wanna call it to wear you down, you know? And if it’s troublesome and you can do without it…do without it.”
“Girl,” I drawled, thinking how she always knew the right things to say without even fully knowing what’s going on. “You said a mouthful, right there…but later for all that.”
“Okay, so tell me something good,” she urged.
I grinned. “One of the songs I did with Melo got picked up for his album, and he locked down distribution for it. So, you know what that means…”
“Yeah, radio spins, and big videos,” she interrupted, finishing my sentence for me.
“Exactly.”
Her eyes bucked. “That’s fucking HUGE, Mari!”
A chill shot up my spine, hearing her that excited about my music, and the possibilities. “Yeah, it’s cool,” I commented, playing it cool. Besides, I aint wanna get too hype just in case shit didn’t go as planned.
“Boy, bye. It’s cool,” she mimicked me. “Fuck cool. That’s some serious shit. Have they decided if they’re gonna make a video for the song you’re featured on?”
“Yeah, it’s in a week or so,” I revealed.
“In a week or so?!” she squealed. “Oh, my God, I can’t believe that I won’t be there for that. Aw, man. Now I’m feeling some type of way,” she pouted.
I chuckled heartily. “Girl, chill out. You gonna be here for the video shoot. Ion care how it gotta happen, but you gon be here. I’ma send some money down there. Bribe ya auntie if you have to, but get your ass down here.”
She smiled brightly. “Okay, okay. I can’t wait.”
“That’s what’s up.”
“Yeah,” she tucked her lips into her mouth. “And there was something I wanted to tell you. But I’m starting to think that now might not be the best time.”
